What's New in Grand Cherokee L 2023?
The three-row Grand Cherokee L receives few changes for 2023, but the Limited and Overland models now come standard with in-dash navigation, and the Jeep’s optional premium stereo systems are now available as standalone options. The nine-speaker Alpine stereo is available on the Limited model while the 19-speaker McIntosh system is available on Overland and Summit trims.
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
Like the two-row Grand Cherokee, the three-row Grand Cherokee L is available with either a 290-hp V-6 or a 357-hp V-8 with either rear- or all-wheel drive; both engines come with an eight-speed automatic. Those seeking to maximize towing capacity should spec the V-8, which can tow 7200 pounds; V-6 models carry a 6200-pound tow rating. After test driving both, we prefer the V-8, which produces a sonorous rumble and provides more linear power delivery. At our test track, our V-8-powered Summit Reserve test vehicle snapped off a peppy 6.2-second run to 60 mph. The V-6, in comparison, is pokier and not as refined; it needed 8.0 seconds to reach 60 mph in our hands. The Grand Cherokee L's ride is smooth and handling is competent; in our experience, the steering felt nicely weighted and the brake pedal was reassuringly firm. To continue Jeep's legacy of off-road capability, the Grand Cherokee L can be equipped with one of three all-wheel-drive systems as well as an optional air suspension, which can be adjusted to provide extra ground clearance.
Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG
Fuel-economy estimates for the rear-wheel-drive V-6 model are 19 mpg city and 26 mpg highway; adding all-wheel drive drops both of those numbers by 1 mpg. These numbers are in line with V-6-powered rivals such as the Kia Telluride and the Chevrolet Traverse. The V-8-powered model is rated for 14 mpg city and 22 mpg highway. Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
While base Laredo models offer the essentials, upscale Summit and Overland trims add luxuries such as quilted leather upholstery, open-pore wood trim, and high-tech digital displays. All Grand Cherokee L models come with a third row of seats, which means space for up to seven via an optional second-row bench seat; a pair of captain's chairs are standard and results in space for six riders. If you don't need the Grand Cherokee L's third row, you should consider the two-row Grand Cherokee, which we review separately. On upper trims, the Grand Cherokee L's cabin is downright deluxe, and Jeep offers luxury features such as massaging front seats, quilted leather upholstery, and open-pore wood trim as options.

Just bought 2023 grand Cherokee limited
First, we had an issue with our trunk door being unevenly closed, which more likely will cause water damage, they fixed it under the warranty but it was not an easy task going through with dealerships, customer service, or the service center. Anyways after that issue was fixed, AC blew out hot air randomly, had to make an appointment with the dealer, and had to talk to Jeep customer care, going back and forth 8 times to the dealer, but it has not been fixed. All they saying is sorry, and to be patient, all I did was be nice and patient with the dealers and Jeep customer care. It’s been my worst nightmare won't buy anything from them ever again!
My wife had the same issue with her Jeep Compass 2021. The AC blew hot air in the middle of summer and no one seemed to want to fix it at the dealership with any urgency. I had a Jeep Grand Cherokee limited 2020. Mine got totaled with no fault of my own. I was paid went back to the same dealership to get the 2022 Grand Cherokee Limited L as a return customer and they did nothing for me as far as a discount or anything and I am also Military. I walked out and told them Jeep lost me as a customer and also my wife because when her lease is up she is not getting another Jeep at least not from that dealership. I now own a brand new Kia Telluride 2023 and I am happy as hell.

Fact is grand Cherokee is the #1 selling suv for a reason.
I would totally buy a Japanese midsize suv if it had real 4WD with a low range, V8, and cool features like night vision, massage seats, real open pore wood and Italian leather….
But alas they seem content making wheezy outdated boring suvs…. This is in a whole other league
@@MrHTMorgan71 That's unusual. My dealership was super nice, however a different dealership messed up while installing the running board on my 2023 Jeep GCL Overland which they compensated after Jeep was looped in. You can not compare a Kia with a Jeep GCL
No matter how good and practical , Seems like this brand is unfortunate.

I hate the look of the black top roof rails. it kills it for me.
I will keep my 2017 and two roll 5 passenger seating. That third row is useless to me, cargo space is more important.
or is it 2 row .... same here I like payload, towing, cargo space as I have no need ,want or will ever have a use for a 3rd row nice if there was a 2 row trail rated /trail hawk the extra space is almost worth the extra $2000 but to get a good off road have to go to overland to get a 2speed low range transfer case not hip on air suspension
Fold the seats down… 💥 more cargo space.
Or buy a shorter 2 row.
Or save your money and keep your older one.
I traded my 2017 SRT GC in for this with the 5.7 hemi.
No regrets. I haven’t had any issues.
People like to give Jeep a bad wrap. Honestly with the technology in any new vehicle there are bound to be issues.
