  • The MBTA has long displayed wait times on the boards at stations in Greater Boston, but their latest development aims to bring that convenience to the palm of your hand. WBZ-TV's Brandon Truitt reports.

How accurate is the app, really?
There was a fire at Orange Line Green Street 01/09/25 yet commuters are still experiencing delays the next day. The dashboard shows a 10 minute delay but it has really been more than an hour. Add all the pauses/standbys in between stops with a wait at one station for 40+minutes. A few riders are fuming at this point.

Don't you need a working Transit system to run the app? Would be much simpler if they came up with closures, diversions and mishap event tracker.

It’s getting better. No slow zones soon enough.

another way of spoiling the tight budget… we have google map and track the T. Why we need this?

I wonder if they are selling your information with this app given that you need to give up permissions such as location. Also right at the beginning of the video the guy said they display wait times at every station. People literally can’t look up from their phones? Seems unneeded and shady. Given the history of the MBTA I don’t trust them to act ethically.

This is completely unnecessary fearmongering lol. Every major transit agency in the world has its own first-party app like this, specifically so that riders aren't forced to use a third-party option made by some random company that's in the business of data harvesting. Helps you check train times just as you're heading out, serves as a backup if the station displays aren't working for any reason, lets you check alternatives nearby. This is a basic utility, and it's a good thing!

@ every major transit agency doesn’t have the history that the MBTA does!

What’s the point…? The whole train system is always down or in repair… it looks like they just waisting tax payers money instead of fixing the problems.

Bro have you been paying attention this past year at all? The MBTA has issues but literally at the time of you posting this we finally have the MBTA in a state of good repair for the first time in decades. I could care less about the app but if you think they haven't been making massive improvements I don't know what to tell you
