Love that watch safe. It is beautiful and a Marvel of engineering. One of my pet peeves is having to reset my watches after they've set and not been used. Yes advertising does work as you say you see their names plastered all over the racetracks. I would collect one of each of the sponsored drivers just for fun. I would get a beater watch to take to the track when working like you say you don't want to damage any of your nice ones. The beater watch I used to use when I was working was a G-Shock. Not expensive and they could take a lot of abuse.
Merry Christmas! You now hit all three of my passions! Photography, racing and watches! In late '65 I saw an ad in New Yorker of a Rolex GMT. I didn't know a Rolex from Timex at the time but I thought the GMT was unique, totally different than most watches. I wore that one for 50 years replacing it with a two tone blue Submariner. Stay passionate!
You've always seemed like a really sympathetic fella. Having you as an F1 photographer - F1 being among my fondest childhood addictions - reignite my watch addiction from when I was a child is truly something else...cheers from Germany, great video! I'd love to see you update us on any new watch purchases, haha!

Kym, I actually resisted watching this particular post because I have a deep but amateur love of watches, I thought I would get depressed seeing someone with a great job and a great collection that I could never attain, but it turns out I really enjoyed your watches and the backstory to each of them. Like you, my first watch that I love is a Seiko that my dad gave me, probably not very expensive but he has had it for probably 50 years. He has since passed away so it means that much more to me. Today my everyday watch is a Tissot T-Sport MotoGP, not F1 but it is motor racing. I promised myself my next watch will be a TAG...maybe the Monaco. And I love your watch safe. Perhaps something I can aspire to have instead of a wine cellar.
One of the things I love about Rolexes is that they don’t change their style much, classic design and for anyone that’s never held a Rolex.. it’s an amazing piece of art and engineering.
Just started. Got my first Tag. Yes its the cheapest model but it looks great. Tag Formula 1 quartz blue face. Will keep an eye open for some used rolex next year around my birthday month. Thanks for the video.
That Oris Pilot Pointer-Date would look awesome on a bund strap!!! That Patek ❤. I’d get that Breitling regulated. There’s no reason why it should not keep great time. Chopard, imo, is more of a watchmaker than people give them credit for… although that sexy Mille Miglia uses a pedestrian ETA movement, not the in-house LUC. El Primero Daytona is the only Rolex I care for in this collection. Although one can never go wrong with a black-dialed no-date Submariner. I’d sell off the Rolexes, keeping only El Primero Daytona, and get a Richard Mille and special edition Heuer Monaco. That would tie into the car racing theme.
