Thanks. I think your ride looks better, also, because from more than a few feet away, black logos suffer the same illusion as black wheels: they just look like black circles.
Mark D Any advice on putting the rear badge onto the car. I just can’t seem to attach the new gloss black emblem. The grooves around the outside of the badge aren’t as pronounced and don’t seem to be gripping. Granted it’s a cheap copy made in China but I’ve been trying and trying for about an hour and I think I’m about to rip my own face off🤯🤬
I cant find any of the emblem badges that have the clips on them, only the adhesive. Can you possibly send me a link for the ones with clips? Thank you!
For the front I’m thinking get rid of the VW badge only thing that puts me off a little is the notches none of them look like they fit right and the back id got anthracite grey badge with a white backing plate
MrMental Nice choice and you can get the deBadged grill for the front but for the notch you would need to get the bonnet smoothed or they do a plastic cut out but that doesn’t look as good
I've got a black GTI and I'll for sure get the black one for the rear at least. Mine has also got the 90% window tint, and I think it looks absolutely awesome when theres no shiny chrome VW badge. On the front I might keep the original one as a black one might seem strange with the red line on GTIs, but for an R I'd definitely go for another black badge.
It depends on whether you have the ACC (adaptive cruise control) or active city stopping feature. If so, you can't change the front badge other than stick a decal on it as the radar sensor is mounted inside the badge. Even a decal may irritate the radar sensor though, not sure about this.
well, it depends. If you've got the facelifted model (2017+) and you're talking about the front badge, then the answer is no. If you've got the pre-facelift model (2012 to 2017), then the answer is yes, you can. The reason simply being that the radar sensor needed for your ACC is fitted inside (/behind) the VW badge on the facelifted models, but behind a cutout in the front bumper for the pre-facelift models.
Then you've propably got the facelifted model, right? Those have the ACC (adaptive cruise control) radar sensor fitted inside the VW badge. The pre-facelift models like the one shown in this video have "analog" VW badges without any electronics and instead have the optional radar sensor mounted behind the front bumper with a cutout unterneeth the VW badge. Also a reason why many people didn't go for the ACC option, as it doesn't necessarily make the cars appearance prettier. It's hard to see in the video, but as far as i could see, the one from this video doesn't have the ACC. Hope this helped ;)

@@ImtheJb You can order skins, which are essentially tint with VW logo in a translucent matte finish. They are cheap online if you search mk7.5 front badge tint. I can’t really recommend any particular site, because mine was done locally by a detailer. ACC works fine too.
This is why I love your channel.intention to detail and show everything 👌🏽
Adam Taylor Thanks I appreciate it🙏🏻
Attention*
@@jamesr50 wear did u get the badges from any links
Can you send a link for where you purchased the 'R' sticker and replacement badge covers?
How do you know what badge to get got an aftermarket grill and it’s not matching up at all different clips and don’t know what to measure
Do you have the link to the badges you bought?
The rev out sounds insane! Good tip with the badges 🍻👍
Need for Speed Passion Thankyou🙌🏻
I have the chrome section on my R line grill at the very top. I hate it and it’s bubbling.. how do I make mine black like yours.
Thanks. I think your ride looks better, also, because from more than a few feet away, black logos suffer the same illusion as black wheels: they just look like black circles.
Should have kept the black VW badges and got tornado red decal inserts in between the lettering so you can see the V and W better :)
Cheap.
Agree! I did this on my Mk6. Looked awesome
Can't the front badge be changed on mk 7.5?
Is that color from the spectrum options called Mars red on your car?
Hi this is Tornado Red😁
my back emblem is impossible to take off this is so frustrating
Where do you buy it
we carry lots of the vinyl overlays for the Mk7 and MK7.5's
do they fade is the real question
@@logicxhardcorex all things fade but out vinyl is rated for 8 yrs. We have had no issue
You got them for rear also?
Where’d u get ur badges from , ordered some from eBay but don’t fit my vw, need to send them back and get some new ones !

Badgeskins dot com 👍 But you probably knew by now?
Soft pry tools will change your life.
Where did you get the black sticker for R letter. I searched for black R badge without success.
You can get them from www.ezmods.co/ 👍🏻
@@jamesr50 Awesome, man thanks!
No problem anytime 🙌🏻
Well done done James.👍🏻
The rear one is very fiddly when you first do it I know I’ve been there.

Derek Letters sorry Derek no advice really it’s just try and error. As long as the lugs are in the same position as the old one it should clip on .
How did you get the grill all black?
I cant find any of the emblem badges that have the clips on them, only the adhesive. Can you possibly send me a link for the ones with clips? Thank you!
For some reason every where is out of stock of these badges (with clips)
Thanks for responding, I know 😥 im having such a hard task trying to find them.
The grill behind the badge, did it come from factory black? If not, how did you get it in black?
Yep it come from factory black
It looks so much better

Quick Question: On the Front Logo does it also have an black inplate like on the back logo?
UPDATE: Yes it does.
Should i go with the stock emblem or black for my black R

Where do you live James ?
Got a link to eBay listing for the R decals
Hi James, thought of headlights from a mk7 GTI, with red accents? Could look very well ??🤔
Neil Watson they would but they don’t have the 2 DRL’s (Both U’s/boxes) like this Uu uU they only have one in each like this U U
Hope that makes sense
I want do it but a have a facelift model ? How must i do

Nice vid mate. Have you thought about body coloured back plates for the rear ?
CRGO 830 Thankyou🙏🏻 I’ve seen white R’s and GTI’s with them I’m yet to see a Tornado Red one
Does your R have dynamic cruise control? Your front VW logo looks different than mine

Hey mate,
Do you know if it is the same process on the rear of a 7.5?
rear should be the same afaik, yes, but front is different as the radar sensor has moved into the VW badge on the facelifted models.
You can get the head lights split and de chromed
Grand Madness that’s something I’d like to do you don’t see many with it done
This video could be 2 mins long. I wonder why it is 10:02 xD
The trunk spoiler would look great in carbon fiber in my opinion

It’s always the way to go lol
Hello James the stock look was much better! My opinion.
This is a bastard to do on a scirocco
Ok. Got it. 👍
I want black badges on my mk7.5, but the front badge is the ACC sensor. I think the only option would be to tint it.
futball24 I didn’t know that thanks for the info👍🏻
It’s weird. It’s almost like a normal badge encased in epoxy.
badgeskins.com can help you with that
@futball24 i know you said this 3 years ago but did you get it changed? My front badge is the same, encased in plastic/something like epoxy.
