Being a newish subscriber, I am still trying to get through many of your older videos. I love seeing how much the two of you love your families and make them a priority in your lives. I would love to visit the UK and see these beautiful estates. I think you two need to visit where I live in the North Carolina mountains near Asheville, where the Biltmore House Estate is located. It is the largest privately owned home in the US at 175,000 square feet. George Vanderbilt II built the home between 1889 and 1895. It has beautiful gardens, restaurants, two hotels and a winery on the estate. The end of April into May is the perfect time to visit when everything is in bloom.
Isn’t it odd how we can have something as amazing and beautiful and so much history on our doorsteps and not even know it’s there, really enjoyed that, hope you all had a lovely Christmas xx Thankyou x you are both fantastic making everything as special as you can for Nicks mam ❤️ x
Good to see Barnsley Market. I’m old enough to remember Cheapside, which is where you were walking at the start, and the outdoor markets, Mayday Green, Gas Nook and the Fish Market as well as Market Hill. You could get everything at the markets in Barnsley. Happy days.
So sorry your mom is going through so much. I have a friend currently going through chemo and I found him a shirt on Amazon (in the US) for chemo. It has loads of zippers so can leave shirt on while they hook up to his port. Little more dignified. Amazing the products they have on line. Sending prayers for you and your mom ❤
After a less than wondrous Christmas day, it’s nice to be able to lie back and enjoy watching the two of you exploring another location in the UK I would not otherwise have heard of.
If you are interested in this house and a few others, you should watch The Country House Revealed. You can find it on You Tube. It’s so interesting to get the history of these homes. It’s amazing how much time and money are put into the restoration. Also, the front and back of the house are built in two different centuries if I recall. Thank you for visiting, these homes are stunning.
Hi guys, thank you for the shout out 😃 Yep nick it’s Guinea pigs that live in the house with us 🐽 🐽 We hope you’ve had a fab Christmas - love to the family (Cambridge Jim) and Liz ❤
Bless you and sending prayers and well wishes Tom your mum, looking after people with cancer is so hard and exhausting for everyone involved I remember with my dad
If you wanted a greasy spoon, you should have taken a left after Alhambra; several near the bakery. Glass Works is fairly posh....and new...that building didn't even exist. But really good job...I like the way you had a good sweep of the video, and you did say the info well. I work there, and we do spout that info...good job remembering it. You might want to mention we are in Rotherham, not Barnsley....nobody knows the house exists! Yorkshire's hidden gem...
Hi Leigh & Nick I’m loving your vlogmas videos especially from Wentworth House, we live in Barnsley and would love to visit there. I’m like you two a Disney loving person. Watch your road trip every vlog, it was fantastic. Merry Christmas and happy New year to yourselves plus sending love and best wishes to Nicks mum.
Up in Scotland in my teens we used to call it a “fly cemetery”. So interesting to see inside Wentworth Woodhouse (bit of a mouthful). Chemo and radiation are cumulative plus what you can tolerate one week you cant the next. I had to get extra large, looser clothes and only cotton as my skin became very sensitive, but everyone is different.
Read the book Black Diamonds, very interesting & gives a good account of the family & Wentworth Wood house.I believe president Kennedy,s sister Kitty was married to one of the late Earls.
I grew up near a Wentworth and it has always been our go to place for a walk ❤️ I have a couple of videos on my channel around 3 months ago when we fell on Alice in a wonderland in the garden at Wentworth Woodhouse and also when I went around the house. On your video when you went to the garden centre you missed the new restaurant called The Bothy, there’s a petting zoo with animals, a walled garden to explore and a maze. There’s a lovely walk when you come out of the garden centre car park which takes you down to the beautiful church and there’s an entrance to the George & Dragon pub which serves up delicious food and is dog friendly so we took my daughter and her new mini dachshund for a meal ❤ I hope you come back soon ❤️
It always surprises me how so few people know about Wentworth Woodhouse. First with my parents and later with various friends, I've been walking the land and visiting the area for 30+ years. My dad used to deliver/pick up laundry there in the 1960s (before I was born). Hoober Stand and the Wentworth memorial are well worth a visit. Plus, up on the hill, is Keppel's column. The original family had a cousin at Wentworth Castle (Stainborough), Barnsley. If you're over near Canon Hall, Cawthorne, try Y-PAS chippy in Kexborough (on the hill above Cawthorne). Only just found you lads on here. Nick's right about Barnsley Town centre. If you'd seen it pre-new build. Brutalist he'll. Though, the market got its royal charter in 1240
From a wdw castmember follower. Wonderful vlog... addicted to Downton and chateau DIY just now (we have a faux fireplace /mantle currently dressed with haunted mansion gargoyles and Christmas. We move it like a piece if furniture no need for a real one in Orlando) Prayers for your mom. From personal experience...for comfort and easy access take a shirt or nightgown slit the sleeve and put snaps...also try "Angel Mints" for post chemo nausea. I'll grab you a handful from cracker barrel.
@@TheLodgeGuys hello...nice to meet you. It's not bad today, but we had 2 days of freezing temps at Christmas. Brrr. I spent Christmas eve dragging plants in off the pool deck and throwing sheets over tender plants in the yard. Should be in the 70s/80s (F) by the weekend. Fyi: Our neighborhood named for Cumbria was originally sold to Brits as vacation rentals. We've been here 16 yrs now, so I'm surely part British now.
Guys when are you going to do something with that Large Wall behind you you said you was going to do other year I know busy lives but its plane & Dull come on get Cracking with it !!

Barnsley is quite a decent town centre these days

We only found Wentworth house by mistake when we were looking for the garden centre. Never knew it was there. They need a new marketing team 😂
Hi Leigh would like to know where you got the tape dispenser from it looks like a handy little gadget.
Think my mum bought me it one year so not sure where it was from.
Merry Christmas to you both and your families.
And to you ❤️
Oh Nick. I love Dead Fly Pie. ❤️ If I see any I have to buy some. It’s definitely a northern thing.
With the layer of white icing on top. We called it 'fly pie' in my day.
I’ve said it before you are wonderful how you look after Nicks Mum hope she is doing ok xxx
Thanks Susan
Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄
