For those referencing my list of mods, it appears that 'Smarter Visitors' might be conflicting with other mods, though I'm unsure which ones. While I've had to keep it active due to potential issues upon removal mid-game, if you are using this mod list, I suggest considering its removal if feasible.
Always a good idea to put a bug spawn room right next to a nuclear reactor.

Did your colonists ever automatically use the hot springs? I haven't seen mine use them except when I'd prioritize it (which was a useful strat for when the beds were low quality
Yes, colonists automatically use the hot spring. IDK how to prioritize beds or hot springs
Been using it for two months. In my experience colonists use it about 1/4th of the time when other recreation types cross 25% effectiveness. When they get injured or sick, they always prioritise it. If yours don't ever visit it, it means either: 1) it's too far away, 2) they never get injured, 3) you have many recreation types already with 150%+ effectiveness (TV, telescope, pool table)
To avoid this, you can build your recreation/dining room right around it, making it an indoor pool/jacuzzi.

I abandon my colonies due to lag many times, and always in a dilemma about how which mods choice.

your laptop is dying. get an actual gaming pc. I say that bc almost guarantee you're experiencing bottleneck due to being unable to add more ram / upgrade cpu.
There's more to specs than gpu . Hope this helps a lil :]

But unfortunately, I am using a gaming PC with 32G RAM.
Most the time is the pathfinding and world pawn FK me up, according to dubs analyzer world pawn update cause most delay, and whenever enemy just arrived and trying to find a target I will recive a huge lag.
Funny things is fighting don't causing lag since enemy won't move too much, so I fear the tribal more than any others because most of them using melee weapons and need more time to arrive battlefield and join the fight.
@@2323MAPLEThis game mostly CPU thing, so any ticks are calculated by the CPU, so get a better processor
@@wtfdude1830 My CPU is AMD R9 5900, it's not best one, but hey, there is no way I change my CPU every year, right?
So I blame myself more than hardware since my mod list is quite massy(400+, 100 more than this video) and perhaps too massy for my 2 year old laptop.

@@2323MAPLE it's exactly what u say. The game lags so much because of pathfinding. When you have too many pawns in one world it gets laggy so its best to not exceed 14-15 pawns in one colony.

This is why I disable infestations, they are deadlier than mechs and impids combined and no counter play involved.

What is the mod to see a second floor? looks so good and i cant find it
I'll never get how people manage to construct such bases... I try an open design? Constant raids. I go for a killbox w/second minoe entrance for when sappers appear? Early mech cluster w/thermites. I go for a mountain base? Bugs every 2-3 days.😢
There are ways to get around and mitigate some of these things other times it’s just poor luck
Maybe they are playing at a lower difficulty.
- Honestly I like Mountain bases too much, so I often just disable insects - they weren't in the game when I was having fun so I usually just prefer not to have them, would rather have fun.

i dont like killboxes. They just destroy the whole thrill of combat. Nothing is more tragic than when a beloved character looses her third husband to a stray bullet and visits the same three graves every other day.
All my fondest memories of this game come from some phyrric victory...or utter disaster
The combat ai mod makes killboxes redundant (except to insects and anomaly creatures) as raiders will encircle your base and destroy walls. You'll realize why vanilla ai is stupid because of how the vanilla combat mechanic works
