I picked up the same one ,nothing cooler than old school bmx ! I have a black 83 expert and blue 84 Californian w skyways from way back both completely redone all new .I’m old but still love these bikes ,can’t have enough toys
My wife got me the same one as an early Christmas present this year. She was surprised how her 50 year old husband (me) can get so excited over a bike. 😄
Fun fact: The guy running R&D at Pacific / Mongoose is an old Chicago BMX pro named Brian Baldis. He was in some of the early Props videos. Was known for his nothing seat grab variations.
I like your assembling methods with the reflectors and chain guard..I do the same shit...it looks like they stayed true with the geometry of the original..probably more of a wall hanger..or just give it to the kid and let him do ghost riders with it leave it outside to get stolen..just keeping it real..totally rad !
After MONGOOSE rereleased the SUPERGOOSE & CALIFORNIA last year, I’m really hoping that they rerelease the PRO CLASS in 20 & 24 inch, in BLACK & POLISHED CHROME.The PRO CLASS was a superb BMX bike.If they bring out the 24” version, I’ll definitely be buying one.
Had I learned about these coming out earlier I would have snatched one up. Beautiful bike, glad Mongoose is starting to making these retro bikes. They said there will be more to come. Maybe they’ll reproduce a Decade Pro? I’m keeping my eye out now.
Your not the only one mate, I was 3 weeks late on these things and I wanted to get myself a blue California special. I was eyeing one and when I tried to make my move it was gone like that. So instead I picked up a stranger things mongoose and I re did it getting new stickers pedals and tyres
@@frankcampbell4144 If I had to guess it’s because the new California Special share the same frame as the Stranger Things bike they put out some years back that kick started the whole retro line. It only retailed for $215 originally so the hi ten steel frame was to keep cost downs. Agreed though, full chromoly would have been the way to go.
A mate of mine had a mongoose super goose in blue and chrome with blue tan wall tyre’s went we raced together back in the day I had a diamondback assault back then 👍🚲💨

Still have my 1983 Californian, can't afford too fresh ot up ATM lmao, and I'll never be able too afford selling it!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 but she still rides smooth!!!!
I hope they're stickers; because they have to go. It 'looks' slightly longer. I would want pads with no graphics; red is nice. I'd want chrome bars, and forks.

I miss my 85 Californian. Stolen out of my garage when I was about 20. Hadn't seen sunlight in years. Dad had crew doing roof and one asked if it was for sale when he saw in garage. I said no... few months later it was gone. I should have put in the basement after he asked. I dont want to know what it's worth now. Chrome/black with anodized comp wheels. Now I am looking at repops
The colors on both the supergoose reissues were hideous. The red one was the worst of the 2. I got a brand new chrome Californian when I was 10 in 1984. I put a set of black motomags on it and a nice set of odi mushroom grips on it. Had it for 10 years and I loved it like a family member (actually better than a few of them). It got stolen off my back porch one night and I never seen it again and believe me...I hunted for that bike for a good 3 years after it was stolen. I wish they would have reissued these with chrome frames. A couple years later and I still can't pull the trigger on either of the reissue bikes due to the color choices. I will be into this bike for near $1k by the time I get all the red off the bike and replace it with something a bit more appealing to myself.
Its pretty cool to see these companies bring back these nostalgic bikes!

Maybe it’s because the video is 2yr old but on the website states that everything is chromoly now. Not hi-ten steel bars.

They are stickers. I don't think the bike would be price effective if they were painted on.Bike is the same Geo as the original.
