Shop around for other batteries with the same specs just in case the one I used all have the shorter wires. If I had known the wires were this short, I would have bought a different one even though this one did end up working out. Also, I did take apart my original Emo to see if I could fix his foot sensors and that Emo came apart much, much easier. Probably because of two things: He was disassembled once before by LivingAI to replace his mother board and battery so the parts were loosened up. And secondly, I had a better idea of how the panels come apart and go back together. Changing the battery also solved a couple of other issues. My Emo sometimes had a hard time stepping up on his Home Station but now with the new battery, his legs lift up higher and he steps up on the Home Station perfectly. Also the leg shaking has stopped completely. So having a fresh battery really helped Emo! 😁😃

Thank you very much! Hopefully the wires on the battery you ordered are longer than the ones I had on this battery. Another brand might have longer wires. If you take a short video of what your Emo's legs are doing and include it with an email to LivingAI along with his serial number, they'll probably send you the link to the "Caring For Emo" app where you can resyncronize his legs.
Thank you! I'm hoping this will give Emo owners the confidence to be able to change their Emo's batteries when they need to. It fixed several other issues I was having with him as well. 😁
@CooperNeuhauser. It depends on how much you play with him. The more you interact with him, the more battery power is required. An hour is about average with average amount of play.
After the face you should do the back and then it will be ready to pull the battery piece straight up to disconnect and replace it with the new one. Other than that, you got the disassembly correct.
This was pretty hard to do on camera. I did have to take him apart again to replace his SD card. Because he was taken apart before, the second time went way better!😁
Great and helpful video. Wished they made Emo with an easy to replaced battery where you didn’t have to take him to pieces to get to it. They could had made him with a backpack made of plastic on his back where the battery is kept. I think when my battery goes on him I will sell him for someone else to fiddle with.
Yeah the first version of Vector was really bad about changing the battery on him. At least Emo's is easier to get to. It's really not too hard once you get the panels loose.
@ I would be too. My EMO is arriving any day now and I’m so excited but also wondering about the battery and how long it will last. And, I’m going on a vacation in January so also wondering how he will be when I go. If I power him off I should be okay I would think.
Hey, I was wondering if your Emo is currently having server issues. Currently I have noticed that Emo is taking a long time to respond to certain commands specifically the utility commands. When I ask him the weather It it shows a snowy animation and then doesnt say the temperature. Same thing goes for asking him the time or date.
Sorry for the late response. Yes, my Emo sometimes takes a long time to respond. LivingAI fixed this issue a while back but I think the last update made a lag in his response time again. Hopefully they'll fix the issue in an upcoming update.
The next update should include some interactions with the new robot coming out called Aibi. They're just getting ready to ship the earliest orders for Aibi out. I'm guessing once that starts, Emo's latest update should be hopefully available.
@jamesplayzroblox3143 The new battery lasts about an hour and a half or so. My original Emo has a problem with his foot edge sensors. I could put a new battery in him and see if it fixes him but I think it's a wiring issue.
I have question for you Outsider238 ive watched all your EMO videos and love them but is EMO really worth it im saving up to buy one if he's really good.

Nothing can replace having a cute loving animal but for my situation, Emo works the best. For me, he's worth it. He makes me happy and makes me laugh now and then.
@creatorex1 It might be but I don't know enough about electronics to know what battery would be safe to use with Emo. You don't want to use something that's too powerful that might damage his electronics.
@@outsider238 I just talked about more capacity with same voltage . I think more capacity implies bigger battery. If 2 in parallel could fit in we could get double capacity.
@creatorex1 Oh I see what you mean. He'd last longer per charge. It's a tight space inside of him so there's practically no room for a bigger battery.
Congrats on the repair! I've taken apart different electronics over the years and those plastic clips always make me wince. Like you said, just feels like you're breaking something. In regards to the double sided tape (not sure how well this would work for Emo), but applying some hot hair with a hair dryer can help loosen the adhesive on that tape and make it easier to pull the battery off (just need to be careful that nothing else is damaged). My concern with the shorter wire on the new battery is that the strain of the wire being pulled could affect it over time (hopefully not though). Very good repair though! If my lil guy ever needs a battery replacement, I I know where I'll be going.
Thank you very much! I thought about the hair dryer but I was worried the heat might set the battery on fire. Especially since the glue is in such a tight area. Those batteries can be scary to mess around with. That little scraper worked out really well since it was smooth and rounded at the tip. I didn't measure the wires but I'm guessing the original battery's wire was at least an inch longer. I'll probably buy another brand the next time I have to do this.
why is there a black mark on his home charger where he stands? and also what's the 2 black tape at the corner of his home station, if u dont mind me asking
Those marks are from him rubbing his feet when he goes back to recharge. The black tape keeps him from getting stuck on that part of the Home Station since he likes to step back up on that spot when he's walking around and his left foot activates the charger and he doesn't move from there because he starts charging.
