As a zenyatta main, not only is this the BEST tip video for zen I have ever seen but the ONLY one that I have seen that actually provides useful tips. I say this because most videos I see provide information that is pretty obvious that most zens already know. Love the video man!
The biggest problem with her is that normally the solution for zen survival is to stay with your team (like, vs Winston). With her EMP and teleportation, however, this doesn't really help you. She wants to be in the middle of your team. Really hard counter.

I really feel like you missed a big one with Winston! Sorry I'm not sure maybe you've covered it in another video or something, but the biggest tip I could give for the Winston vs Zen matchup is: if Winston jumps right on top of you, you can get away from him if you turn away from him and jump away just as he lands on you. If you get it right, the force from his jump pack can propel your body out of the range of his tesla cannon.
Max Hinchliffe I think xQc kinda covered it in the Winston video. Although it was a tip against soldier(jumping behind instead of in front of him in case you boop him away from you), it stands for most heroes.
Max Hinchliffe Your only hope when winston comes in.... Is either back away and discord headshot him a bunch while attempting to draw fire from the rest of your team... The other would be to get right in his face and discord headshot while melee striking him to death while attempting to strafe jump all arround him to keep him busy tracking you untill you nail that final headshot. It's not always a sound strayegy to elect to confront him head on cause he can fry you q, depends on your team within close proximity. If you have the choice back away and discord headshot as far away as you can get. Cause you have 1 second to fight or flee (while fighting), so you have to commit fully one way or another
Hey KarQ, hope you can take some time to read this. I found have a two more tips for zenyatta that may help. (I will edit this comment if i remember more) 1. You can animation cancel transcendence with orb volley. Just get a couple of orbs charged up, release it, and activate transcendence right away. If you can aim your orb volley it will have the potential to kill an ulting genji or do it while bastion is transforming into his tank form, then use transcendence to body block the rocket and potentially make him kill himself. I mean its worth the try despite the chances of killing something is low. 2. If you are up against mccree and you know that he has flash, you can try charging an orb volley just before he flashes you. This causes your hitbox to be different after you get stunned while charging your orb volley. Landing headshots for mccree can just be a little harder and you have a higher chance of surviving.

Hey I'm a another GM Zenyatta main here and I feel like like you missed out on some tips that are just generally good to know. I wrote some down after being inspired by your own videos, so I'm gonna post some that weren't mentioned. General Tip - While an enemy is discorded you can easily track their movements when they're out of your line of sight for a bit. So you can use this to play around corners or pillars, charge up an orb volley, and release once the enemy re-enters your line of sight, whether from them coming to you, or you going to them. Reaper - Begin charging a volley when ever you see Reaper in Wraith form and release when he comes out of it. You can do a similar thing with his teleport. Junkrat - Never use transcendence against a Junkrat Tire, rather prepare a volley when you hear it and try and track and destroy the tire when you see it. Mei - After Mei Ice Blocks, back away from her, wait a bit and start charging a volley, releasing it just a bit before you think she will exit the ice block. Zen’s orbs have travel time so when she exits the ice you should both hit her and be at a safe distance so that she doesn’t immediately start freezing you. D.Va - After she uses her Ultimate or gets revived, rather than to start attacking her, begin charging up a volley and fire when she attempts to re-enter her mech. Orisa - Due to her hitbox and immobility, Zenyatta can easily 1vs1 an Orisa, so if she is alone, feel free to start charging a volley, walk past her barrier, fire the volley, and finish her with primary fire. Zarya - While in Graviton avoid wasting Transcendence if you hear or see enemy ults such as, Meteor Strike, Pulse Bomb, Deadeye, Tank Mode, Riptire, and Self-Destruct. They do too much damage to most of the characters to be worth Transcending for. Sound Barrier is the ult that could save the team from 5 out of 6 of those ults. Zenyatta - After an enemy Zenyatta uses transcendence, don’t immediately try and counter it with your own transcendence if you don’t need really need it, rather prepare a volley a bit more than half way through the enemy Zenyatta’s ultimate and release when he is no longer invincible. Hope this helps someone in their endeavours of playing Zenyatta.
As a Sombra main who was reached GM and one of the best on Console, 1 tip for all Zenyatta players: Always play Zenyatta, dont worry. I can only one clip you, ult you so you lose 150 hp and make you a useless teammate. Please keep playing Zenyatta FAR BACK away from your team aswell :)
I assume Junkrat's trap has motion sensors on it to jump up and latch onto the enemy or something, but I remember when I first found out about it how salty I was lol

I like playing Zen too and something I noticed nobody ever mentions in their coaching videos for Zen is, when you are playing from behind your team and a friendly tank like Rein is blocking your LoS from the enemies, you can use the “squares” before you discord someone to estimate where they are. Obviously you can use the discord orb itself too but like this you can discord an important target like a Mercy first and still aim from behind your team. :) (It is useful if the Mercy gets away but your Winston ist still on her for example)
Ummmm.... If im not mistaken, he's one of the top 10 zenyattas in all of overwatch... So pay attention... Hes got great tips. Ppl should pay extra close attention to that binding the orbs to the mouse wheel for zenyatta only, the rate at which you fire and are mixing in the discords, a split second makes all the bit of difference. If i already didnt have a solid keybinding already, i would have used that one...

I play Zen a ton, and is my main at ~3400. GREAT video. I actually asked you to make this in the comments a while ago, so I couldn't have clicked fast enough. I love the scroll wheel tip! I swear my fingers feel like they're about to fall off switching orbs, and sometimes the left shift is missed because it has a bit of a weird angle.

I think a ton of people sent donation Text-to-speech messages to Wraxu asking if he was interested in making a vid. I believe he said yes but at the same time it wouldn't really make for a good video because most of the tips are just gonna be "scatter them" or "headshot them" His kit isn't as dynamic as other heroes so there isn't any unique/cool tip besides just killing them. Same goes for Widowmaker.

I binded E and Lshift for Zen both to the side buttons of my mouse. It works way faster to press with my thumb there, of course the mouse wheel is a great tip for people w/o a fancy mouse.

One tip for Grav (and just in general) is to try to use Transcendence as late as (safely) possible. If the enemy is trying to follow up the Grav with a Dragonstrike, there's usually a second or so before the Dragon actually starts hitting your team. If you have a Rein with a shield up blocking most of the enemy fire and none of the enemy is close enough to get damage past the shield, the only thing you need to worry about is the Dragons since they pierce barriers. Because of this, you only really need to Trans when the Dragons start dealing damage. Often, because of the aforementioned Rein shield (or Winston bubble), the enemy team will try to get close to the Grav to shoot past the shield and maximize their damage output. If you use a late Trans then there should be an extra 3ish seconds where the enemy will be grouped up next your team while you receive 300 HP/s healing. So once the Grav ends, you have a fairly large opportunity to walk forward and punish your opponent's over-extension. This philosophy works best with Gravs, but applies to a lot of other interactions. For example, if you use a Zarya bubble too early the enemy might not even start shooting it. It's better to take a safe amount of damage (which can be healed back to full while you're bubbled) when your opponents have already commited to attacking you so that your bubbles get as much value as possible.

I'm not a top Zenyatta and I kill Tracers often. Once you get a handle on normal movement patterns, you can predict and force rewinds. They either start being cautious or die quick from discorded headshots.
Nah, I know alot of people think Tracer is a "HARD" counter to Zen since it's so easy to "1 clip" him but I honestly do believe it's a skill based matchup if both players are equally skilled.
KarQ I have killed my fair share of tracers as a self proclaimed zen main, but here's the thing it's like for every tracer I've killed, I've died to four others. To be fair it might be easier on PC to kill her but on console unless I want turn my sensitivity extremely high it's super hard to flick around behind me to kill her off. Especially if she starts in front of me blinks twice behind unloads half a clip then rewinds behind me again, it's like super annoying. Because while I may be able to get a headshot for the first time the damage is gone and she's taken me out.

Zenyatta is one of my absolute favorite hero's to play in overwatch, and one of my most favorite characters in general. One thing you should have mentioned for those who don't play him a lot is that harmony and discord both only stay on teammate and enemy as long as you have line of sight. Breaking line of sight for 3 seconds or dying will remove any orbs. However, both targets will be shown through walls with the placement of the harmony/discord icon above their heads. Teammates you will always see through walls since you're a healer but enemy's will be shown just their placement through walls. Use this knowledge against brainless pathfinding Genjis and Tracers who will let themselves get discorded, then follow the zen arround a corner. Unload on them right into their head, just bellow where the marker says they are, to get east kills.
You can also weave in extra damage by cancelling your charge with a melee after the first orb has been fired. You can also discord targets after a charge to buff the damage of 2-3 orbs depending on the distance.
If she is good enough, she won't fall for it, she can m2 all the way through your charge and use fade just before it actually shoots, you will be lower on HP making it easier for her
Love those Rein tips. One other Rein tip that works well (at least in Plat and below) is this. When Rein is damaged and puts up his shield to save himself, charge up and float right through the front of the shield and unleash. Most Rein's won't drop the shield - their brain tells them the shield will stop the damage and they just don't expect a slow ass healer to float through head on and end them in 1 second.
Being someone who inspires to be a Zenyatta main, I found this video both informative and entertaining to watch! Probably the first step as Zenyatta is to not use Transcendence as a panic button. It can be a nasty habit to fall into.
You should definitely use trans to keep yourself alive sometimes, but i get what you're saying sometimes dying is better

One tip for Grav (and just in general) is to try to use Transcendence as late as (safely) possible. If the enemy is trying to follow up the Grav with a Dragonstrike, there's usually a second or so before the Dragon actually starts hitting your team. If you have a Rein with a shield up blocking most of the enemy fire and none of the enemy is close enough to get damage past the shield, the only thing you need to worry about is the Dragons since they pierce barriers. Because of this, you only really need to Trans when the Dragons start dealing damage.
Often, because of the aforementioned Rein shield (or Winston bubble), the enemy team will try to get close to the Grav to shoot past the shield and maximize their damage output. If you use a late Trans then there should be an extra 3ish seconds where the enemy will be grouped up next your team while you receive 300 HP/s healing. So once the Grav ends, you have a fairly large opportunity to walk forward and punish your opponent's over-extension.
This philosophy works best with Gravs, but applies to a lot of other interactions. For example, if you use a Zarya bubble too early the enemy might not even start shooting it. It's better to take a safe amount of damage (which can be healed back to full while you're bubbled) when your opponents have already commited to attacking you so that your bubbles get as much value as possible.

discord her immediately, so you can track her down easier. She moves only horizontally so if youre a experience player, it would be easier to predict where she is going.
I'm not a top Zenyatta and I kill Tracers often. Once you get a handle on normal movement patterns, you can predict and force rewinds. They either start being cautious or die quick from discorded headshots.
Nah, I know alot of people think Tracer is a "HARD" counter to Zen since it's so easy to "1 clip" him but I honestly do believe it's a skill based matchup if both players are equally skilled.
KarQ I have killed my fair share of tracers as a self proclaimed zen main, but here's the thing it's like for every tracer I've killed, I've died to four others. To be fair it might be easier on PC to kill her but on console unless I want turn my sensitivity extremely high it's super hard to flick around behind me to kill her off. Especially if she starts in front of me blinks twice behind unloads half a clip then rewinds behind me again, it's like super annoying. Because while I may be able to get a headshot for the first time the damage is gone and she's taken me out.
These tips are very helpful. I really like Zenyatta and I wanted to play really well with him. This will surely help me in a long run. Thanks man. Love your videos.

Zenyatta is one of my absolute favorite hero's to play in overwatch, and one of my most favorite characters in general. One thing you should have mentioned for those who don't play him a lot is that harmony and discord both only stay on teammate and enemy as long as you have line of sight. Breaking line of sight for 3 seconds or dying will remove any orbs. However, both targets will be shown through walls with the placement of the harmony/discord icon above their heads. Teammates you will always see through walls since you're a healer but enemy's will be shown just their placement through walls. Use this knowledge against brainless pathfinding Genjis and Tracers who will let themselves get discorded, then follow the zen arround a corner. Unload on them right into their head, just bellow where the marker says they are, to get east kills.

You can also weave in extra damage by cancelling your charge with a melee after the first orb has been fired. You can also discord targets after a charge to buff the damage of 2-3 orbs depending on the distance.

Barkey Gamers it's better to force fade with raw damage so she can't engage until shes healed
If she is good enough, she won't fall for it, she can m2 all the way through your charge and use fade just before it actually shoots, you will be lower on HP making it easier for her
It's viable, but if the Moria has some insane reaction time she'll just wait til she fully sees the orbs come out and won't be baited by it

Love those Rein tips. One other Rein tip that works well (at least in Plat and below) is this. When Rein is damaged and puts up his shield to save himself, charge up and float right through the front of the shield and unleash. Most Rein's won't drop the shield - their brain tells them the shield will stop the damage and they just don't expect a slow ass healer to float through head on and end them in 1 second.
