I applaud Ram for that very sensitive rear ultrasound system with automatic brake application. A life saving feature especially for a family with children constantly scurrying around the driveway. Very well thought out and executed! Kudos to the Ram truck brand.
I'm a Ford guy, but I'll have to admit, that's a beauty truck...
Nice to see people can give respect to a nice product, regardless of what they drive or back. thank u for that.
I’m also a ford guy. Owned 3 F-150s... just bought my ram 1500 today, pick up tomorrow!
Just drove mine home Saturday from the dealership. Good review. It's been over 10 years since I had a truck so I loved that you covered so much detail. I appreciate all the little hidden gems. I am still searching for a video that goes through all the stuff this thing can do. Especially with the technology and towing.
25+ years of owning ford f150s. I picked up my Ram Laramie Sport 2 weeks ago. Love it.......time will tell.
That truck was built right down the street from me. This truck is going to be a good thing for the area the assembly plant before built small cars now it has a killer product. I bet FCA ends up running 3 shifts at some point.
The Ram engineers that worked on this interior really outdid themselves. This is by far the nicest interior I've seen on any truck. I'd like to see this in the 2500/3500 models as well.
Message to ram;
Please don't abandon the regular cab market.
The corner light feature is on my 1996 Cadillac Fleetwood. Love that feature and always wondered why I haven’t seen it in newer cars.
You
That corner light is awesome and first time I've heard about it in a review. Good job finding those little surprising nuggets!
FCA is doing it lately. The Jeep JL and the new RAM are great. Say what you want to about FCA but their products have some soul to them. Much less appliance feel to them. I love my Jeep JLU to pieces. Never thought I'd own a FCA product but I just smile every time the top goes down :)
I know you are KIND OF a Ford Truck Guy, but I'm getting the feeling you may be changing your mind and Switching to RAM!Remember: "If you can't DODGE IT, RAM IT!
I like all these new trucks to be honest. They are becoming so similar in terms of features, ride, performance, and reliability.
If you read my Remember saying: You will know what is on my Front License Plate on my RAM 3500.
Look up dodge in the dictionary, it means avoid.
I just bought a ‘22 Limited trim and it’s amazing how well this generation held up. I sold a ‘19 Mercedes’ E class to buy the truck and the interior is on par with a 6 figure European luxury vehicle. Good job Ram.
What a great review and what a great channel! Love this truck and what the engineers have done here. We are all lucky to have these companies raise the bar on each other, we end up with a way better product. Awesome truck, wow!!!
Way better than my reviews!!! On a separate note the in floor removable storage bins have CM and IN measurements on both sides!
RAM likes to put in many easter eggs. Betting the logo is still in the headlights too.
I cannot wait for the new Ram HD trucks!!!! These are going to steal the show and I'm so anxious to get behind the wheel and see how it stacks up to the revised 2019 Super Duty. These 5th Gen Rams really set the bar, which is unique for FCA in my opinion.
Love your videos!
I love sitting out on the porch in the morning/afternoon smoking ciggies to your videos big dawg. Thanks for another great review.
Kyle Jansky: Thanks brother
My 98' Town Car had the corner light. Loved that feature.
right my 93 vet has corner lights works great.
Ryan Martinage my 2004 Grand Marquis has that feature too absolutely love it.
Olds, Buick and Cadillac had them in the late '60's and '70's.
Dodge,Plymouth,Chrysler had them in the 60's as well as an option !
My grandfathers 1991 Chrysler New Yorker Fifth Avenue has corner lights as well.
I bought a 2019 Ram Big Horn quad cab in Patriot Blue Pearl coat a little over a week ago and sure glad I did. Love this truck and rides like a luxury car. The Hemi motor is also awesome. Plenty of power. I've tried Ford and Chevy trucks and test drove them and they are no comparison to the 2019 Rams ride and value.
My Dad Has A 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie. I Love It.
I have a 2014 Ram and I love it and I tow a 29' travel trailer and yes the 5.7 hemi sounds really nice
Even the simplest U connect system in my commuter car is better than than the system I used to have in a VW TDI and my current GM system in my Buick. It just seems that U connect is intuitive and simple to operate exactly what’s needed in a vehicle.
I have the U-Connect system in my 2014 Jeep, and love it. I can press the call button and say "CALL MARY JANE" if Marry Jane is in my phone book, it will call her. MY Son-in-laws new Honda Pilot will not do that, as he has to go thru several more steps before it will call. Mine does it in only one step
@@1gr8oil have seen 2011 jettas that are that simple
You give great fair reviews bro well done again!
I'm liking what I'm seeing with the new Ram 1500. I've owned 2006 Hemi 1500, 2007 Cummins and a 2009 1500. All 4x4. Crews etc. I grew tired of the interiors and build quality. Problems with recalls and dealership's. However, may come back to it. I like the change, I like the design. Currently in a 14, Silverado. May go back to the Ram.....Hmmmm.
I can't wait for the new Ram HDs. It'd be the only truck I'd sell mine for.
Thanks for the review!
Nice looking truck probably has a nice price tag as well, I used to be a Dodge Guy until I had 3 different year Ram trucks and always had transmission problems. I just might have to check one out if my local Dodge dealer has one yet. You must like the color it looks like a close match to your Ford
I like Ram and Ford interiors the best, my 2010 f150 is one of the smoothest truck I've driven. My friend has a 2015 1500 and it's as nice as mine.
Just bought one Monday Ivory White traded in my jk..and I love the smooth ride and the spacious room is awesome
I really like what RAM has been doing here lately. Can’t wait to see how the 2500/3500 turns out in the next year or two
Great video, too me a sec to realize you were driving around Corpus Christi, Texas. I live there too and just bought that near identical truck. My truck is also that same burgundy (Delmonico Red) color, with the same lighter two tone doe and brown colored interior. I have had my Ram about a month now and absolutely love it. It's by far the best truck I have ever driven. I admit I looked at the Limited first and would rather have had that one, but my budget placed me in the Laramie and I'm not disappointed. This truck is FANTASTIC!
I looked at Ford, Chevrolet and Toyota before buying and there was no comparison. Ford makes a great truck and that would have been my second choice, but the build quality of the Ram is so much better. Ford's interior still uses a lot of cheap looking plastics. Sit in both and the quality difference is very noticeable.
Four things I noticed that my Ram has over the one you tested is 1.) Reclining Back Seats ( I think that truck had them you just didn't mention them) & 2.) Heated and Cooled Back Seats, 3.) the Power Sliding Panoramic Sunroof. The Panoramic sunroof I Highly Recommend, it's awesome. And 4.) Blind Spot Monitors. My truck is the Laramie, but probably just a diff. package.
The only "Issue" with my 2019 Ram is the front and back collision avoidance system, that he mentioned. It will disengage the accelerator pedal and lock the brakes hard. It won't let you hit anything. Overall it's a great feature especially in a parking lot. But, sometimes when driving through tall weeds that you can visually see won't hurt your truck, it still tries to lock you down. It doesn't know how thick or hard something blocking you is, just that there is something there. My truck is 4X4 and I have to turn off the sensors now and then to simply drive it across a field with tall grass. Safety wise I wouldn't get ride of this system because it can stop you from bumping another car or a shopping cart, or a person, but be aware of it also giving you a hard brake check in tall weeds too.
Overall, Well done Ram!!! You folks really got down with this truck! You have made Ford second think their interior and sent Chevrolet totally back to the drawing board scratching their heads in awe.
You do such a GREAT job on every review you do! Thanks for sharing.
Looks like FCA is focusing on high quality parts, can’t wait to get one soon.
I saw it at the Denver auto show and thought it was the star of the show. I have had good luck with both the ford and Chevy trucks for many years. Looking for one more truck and the Ram is now at the front of the line. Was told it could pull a 12K trailer, impressive for a 1/2 ton. May go for the 2500 and 6.4. I am retired pulling 30 ft 5th wheel and a small boat, and don't believe I can get an ROI on a deisel and price is an issue.
Lovely lovely truck, Ram really have outdone themselves with this one. My new dream ride. Great review as always.
Wow that interior! I agree on the mega cab going away. If this size cab comes on the new HD models I can’t see the need. I currently have a mega cab and I would opt for this cab next time.
Hello Big Truck! Once again you do a great job on a video! These new Rams are really quite nice! I look forward to driving one!
I agree with the ride quality, by far best ride quality for a pickup. Only the ridgeline could compare but we all know it's not really a truck. The power is nice and the v8 sounds great. The interior quality, fit and finish and noise is miles ahead of the competition. I'd buy one but I have a 2017 ram that's paid off.
Loved my 2014 Laramie limited best vehicle I've ever driven hands down! Wish I could get a 2019 😁
I'm surprised that Ram stepped up and made something that nice. It has some very good features.
Sold me on this one, was waiting for gmc to bring back the rear air and saw your part 2 of this first, then saw this portion, and I will be going to see if the 2500 is just as appointed.
Great review. I'll be pulling a 33.5 ft rv.
Got me one last week! It is a amazing truck!
Ramon Carter I didn't either until I drove past my dealership here in Wyoming, and they had 3 up front sitting nice and pretty haha.
Excited to see how this truck tows
Great review, looked at a Limited at our local dealer this week. Outstanding job Ram.
Best overall review on youtube!!! Congratulations well dinner sir!!
Wow this truck so luxury, It's not even a Limited or Laramie longhorn! Good job
BTBRV... solid review. Great job covering everything. One of the few channels I trust. You know, I immediately watched a similar truck review about the new F-150 Diesel, and (man) you can tell the difference in interiors. The Ford, while a solid truck, looks really dated. I'm saving up for my 2019 RAM Longhorn now! Thanks again.
Nice review, My parents had a 1991 Mercury Sable with the corner lights lol. I am looking forward to trading in my 2014 Ram on a 2019. The 2014 has has been a quality truck and it seems Ram has stepped it up even farther.
B-E-A-UTIFUL Bravo to RAM. Been waiting to see the 2019s. Just got my brochure from them and can’t wait to see an HD truck.
Nice video. The 2019 Laramie 1500 is so much neater than the 2015 Silverado LT 1500. Yen times better, I can't believe it. It's like night and day. Dodge Ram Laramie 1500 is the first time I enjoy driving a vehicle in a while. I'm used to the column shifter so I was grabbing air, hahaha. I absolutely love the knob shifter on the dashboard.
Wonderful review and great truck! I do have 2 items of concern when myself and my 4 friends climb in the truck we are over the payload of 1399 lb.. The other concern is a vehicle that over rides the drivers input like you said about the rear sensors stopping the truck. You are correct about the child safety issue but all my life i have always checked front and back before i get in to leave, my fear is once the criminals learn of this it will be used against you for car jacking and even could cause your death. Maybe i am wrong but it is a concern i have. When i floor it i need the truck to go and go now, not over ride my input.
😂 they probably didn't make it in mind for 5 obese people rising around in it. Doubt three would even fit in the back
Another great video thanks! Beautiful truck! I like the interior and the coil spring rear suspension that must give an amazing ride! As you mentioned.
That's a phenomenal truck ram has stepped up it's A game big time all it needs is a better entrance into bed or optional bed slide so you don't have to climb into it. And viola lookout ford and gmc, and the others.
I like the interior with the 8.4” screen, the 12” is a bit too much in my opinion
That's just personal preference. My new Ram has the 8.4", I would rather have had the 12" screen. I think it rounds out the dash better.
Steven Gibson its not as clean looking
The 12” screen seems to be a bit much, maybe even gaudy. But...I think having 2 windows open would be convenient. GPS on top, and radio below. Multitasking. 🛠
Agreed. My gf really liked the 12" (go figure) and I really liked the 8". Ended up buying the 8 and she loves it. There's enough material there for you to make your own jokes. Have at it =D
As always, OUTSTANDING review!
Thank you
Great review! You anf tfl truck are my new favorites. Keep up the good work! I love the bew truck and can't wait for the HD'S to come out. I just hope for a tow mirror change on the HD'S
Nice truck can’t wait to see the 2500 and 3500 when they come out. I saw the 1500 yesterday when I was passing the Dodge dealership yesterday. I would like to see if you can get it fully loaded without the hole in the roof. You guys prepping for our favorite time of year that is coming in May and lasting to November? Hope all is well!
Ford F-150 fan who may be going Ram next truck. Thanks for the review vid.
Nice review. Glad you finally got your hands on the 2019 RAM. In terms of not seeing mega cabs... they don't exist on the 1500 series. Also, I don't see them going away, the seats are different in that they are adjustable and can lay flat. The Mega cab also offers storage behind the seat in addition to cubbies behind the seat... and some space under the seat in the back... guess we'll see in the next couple of years or so if RAM does do away with the mega-cabs... I always found them nice looking. I don't find that leg room is really in more in a mega cab than the regular 2500/3500.
If RAM puts this cab and front end on the HD trucks im gonna go from liking the HD to loving them cause that is an amazing truck.
Agree! I hope they don't screw up the Power Wagon. Some rumors already that I've heard, rotary shift autos vs. cable. Possibly an Aisen, which is a positive though.
Great review but FWIW it was a pretty common option for American built automobiles to have cornering lamps in the 70's, 80's, and 90's. They were typically on the finder just behind the bumper.
I do like that truck, luv to see it in a 3500 for my tow rig. Thanks for the review!
Wow that is such a awesome truck. I'm a dodge guy and I really like that dodge truck. The new models look cool
Carlos Lamadrid I’m not sold on them yet but they’ll grow on me. I’m buying a new 2018 dually cummins this summer.
Beautiful truck! I can't wait for the 5th gen Cummins! Hopefully they fix the stupid tow mirrors..
Jared Kattner Moose mirrors are on the new 1500s so....Stop complaining! *grunts aggressively*
Ram absolutely knocked it out of the park... I don't think that new Silverado comes close to the attention to detail... I'll definitely looking to purchase a new Ram sometime for the 2020 model year. Thanks for this review.
Any chance you'll get your hands on the new Longhorn package?
It looks pretty but material fit and finish/quality may leave a lot to be desired. FCA isn't known for quality
You definitely get more value for your money with Ram Trucks. Let see if the 2019 brings reliability up even with Ford. If they do, I might be trading in my F350.
Another great and informative video!
How about getting your hands on a Ram Ecodiesel for impressions and a quick review.
Thanks for all the great videos.
Nice truck. My 1995 impala has illuminated corner lights.
All very nice features!!!! Great review. My opinion is that trucks have too many fancy features these days! Love my 06 Tundra. Simple. Not trying to be negative just thinking of the cost when things break! Thanks for all your reviews.
A lot of trucks are being specced out, but do have a large number of basic features for fleets and such still. :)
Exactly, you can still get the Tradesman version of this, pretty bare bones.
Good video. I agree I drove one yesterday it is very nice the only thing I don't like is the rotary dial. I'm not a fan of those in anything. I was told by a Ram salesmen they don't offer a power operated steering wheel on any trim level
I am definitely going to have to take a ride in one of those because if the ride is better than my 2018 F150 King Ranch, that's saying something.
Good informative video. Really makes me want to upgrade to a new truck.
I'll give Ram points the centre console is pretty nice looking on this model you showed, prob the best i've seen. One thing that Ram just doesn't get and maybe they have improved on is cheap leather, which doesn't last, cheap cushions which also don't last. I also hope they fixed the airbags cheapness as in cold weather, they malfunction. The speedo/tack also look really good. I know this one doesn't have it but I dislike the 12" screen, all the finger prints and dirtiness you'd see would drive me mental. I also like the look over this truck over the previous model, they really did a great job here. We'll see how that hybrid system works for reliability.... seems hokey, but that's just me. I'd like to see the demo on the reversing "brake" I think that is one feature that would be great. Despite all my back up sensors, rear camera, around view monitor, I managed to back into a pole. (I'm not sure where I was while backing up.... :(
I cannot wait to see the Cummins in this model!
Edit: "Generation" not model
You always show beautiful trucks!
Thank you!
Great in depth review as usual, are you considering purchasing on? Id really like to see you cover the new Ram for a long term series.
Beautiful interior, looks like a great truck for a little more mature family (Not feeding a toddler in a car seat, they tend to throw food and drinks) and the back seat would be flipped up for dogs.
I have yet to see a single negative review on this vehicle. I cannot wait to test drive *cough* lease *cough* one.😁
There have been a few complaints about build quality
Should have showed the reclining rear seats. Very cool option no other trucks offer.
next vid
Trucks replaced the true fullsize cars of the 1960's and 1970's..
Those cars were as wide and long as these trucks, they had huge trunks for storage and long trips, trucks have beds with tons of storage ..Old big cars had powerful V-8's new trucks have powerful V8's..Both have tons of leg ,head room etc...And they get roughly the same mpg...We had a 68 Chrysler new Yorker and it got 21 mpg with the tire burning, front end lifting powerful 440 4bbl...the car truly was a sleeper !! And driven normally on the highway it could get 21 mpg on a trip..Usually 15.3 mpg average city/hwy..
Fiat killed it with this one. MOPAR isn’t scared at all to take chances on out of the box things.
Great review awesome truck I definitely want one
Can we please get a demo review on the automatic parallel and perpendicular park? I have yet to see any videos on that for this truck. Thanks!
Seems to me this pickup will be the top truck.
Just saw a ad for rvr by trailer valet. I think big truck big RV needs to do a review video
So I just rewatched this video because I was trying to find the difference between this truck and my 2015 Chevy LTZ(besides the fact that one is 3 years older and a Chevy instead of a Dodge) and I can't find anything major. I'm not looking for a pissing contest just a few observations I made.
1) you pointed out how special it was to have cup holders in the door when my 2015 has to cup holders but it doesn't have the gummy bear rap.
2) you mentioned how the console had a spot to put your phone or tablet 2015 Chevy has that. You also said how it had the sliding cup holders now the Chevy doesn't have that but the cup holders pop out and move forward and back with storage underneath and in the rear compartment also has double glove boxes.
3) you mentioned how the dash cluster and information center was bright and highly visible so is the 2015 Chevy.
4) you mentioned how the Dodge has fantastic stereo 2015 Chevy does as well it's a Bose
5) you mentioned how the Dodge had soft-touch material everywhere so does the 2015 Chevy as well as stitching in the seats and on the dash.
I guess I could go on and on comparing everything but what I'm trying to say is the Dodge is a beautiful truck No Doubt but the features that you pointed out are already in the 2015 Chevy LTZ the only things that I can see are missing is the Chevy is it doesn't
have rear AC vents nor a dial gear selector or push button start (neither of those items matter to me but I know that's just my opinion) and I guess the screen is a little larger on the Dodge as well as the screen does a few more functions anyway thanks again for the video. I guess just other than the double stitching and Embroidery in the seats I don't see where this truck stands out above others
First off the Ram interior is FAR superior than the Chevy cheap looking plastic and ugly wood grain, the center stack is way better in the Ram, the EVIC is light years better in the Ram, the Ram has an 8 speed where you have a six speed, the sunroof has an 6 foot on the Ram vs. your 2 foot, the ride quality is much better on the Ram...need I go on, I can keep pissing?
My Great Grandma had a 1978 Cadillac Deville that had lights on the side that would come on with the turn signal and provide some illumination for turning in to places, why on earth isn't it standard on every vehicle today?
Looks like the console cup holders are finally in the right direction!
Did I see tie downs by the floorboard storage bin?
NIce truck! Would like to see this one in a 2500 or 3500 diesel SRW.
You and me both.
I'm waiting for the 2500, I hate the turn knob gear selector. but the truck is awesome looking.
Great review. Awesome interior. My 92 Ford t-bird had cornering lights. I liked them a lot.
Enjoyed the video, the 2019 Ram 1500 is a beautiful and well put together truck. Has there been a release date on the 2019 with the ECO Diesel, I have a 2016 and I really like the performance and fuel mileage I get from it.
Great review! Makes ya want to run out and get one!
I bet your next truck is going to be a 2020 Ram 3500, or 4500 (If Ram makes it in a bed configuration)
Wow, what a beautiful truck! RAM has done it again! I'll be looking out for the trade-in video!!😉
Looking to getting this truck with the second gen ecodiesel.
I wonder how well it will lease for. Very nice
its about time I found a vid of you driving a truck other then ford, lol
1399 lb payload doesn't leave much capacity for trailer tongue weight after I get myself, the wife, and kids in the cab. How much fuel does it carry?
jrfizix: 26gals with an optional 33gal tank
That's what happens when you put the bling of a Laramie package on it. But it is surprisingly low. Maybe that's also a result of the desire to give it such a smooth (read car-like) ride.
I haul all the time, if you need to carry even more than 10k and are around mountains you need to go with 2500 diesel, period. Short trips around town, 10k to 12k no problem.
First of all, thanks a great video and planning to buy 2019 Ram Laramie 1500 4X4 with "Offroad" package. Quick question if you don't mind, where is the location you were driving while driving next to the water? Looks like very very good fishing location.
Great review. Do you thing no you will be able to review a limited at a later date to see the differences?
All your videos are great !!! What is the towing capacity for a fifth wheel???
Never been a fan of Dodge trucks but damn that truck is nice!!!
Alright Ford, y'all need to step up y'alls game.
Not surprise at all I'll stay with my 18 platinum 5.0 coyote power fx4 love it more practical for me and use
