    4 spring tips for a greener lawn. Spring scalping warm season grass is the first step to a successful lawn care season. My opinion, this is one of the worst parts of managing zoysia. However, once you get through this period, the rest of the year is a breeze.

    Do you bag the clippings throughout the season? I always heard it is best to mulch the clippings because it will return fertilizer to the lawn. And do you plan to do anything with the pile of clippings?

    • @ZoysiaRUs
      @ZoysiaRUs  ปีที่แล้ว

      No I don’t bag clipping unless I get behind on the mowing and need to do a cleanup pass.
      I dump the clippings in the woods or the neighbor uses them in a compost bin.

    what would you recommend blending with zenith zoysia in areas that our thin due to shade? I live in Eastern NC

    • @ZoysiaRUs
      @ZoysiaRUs  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m not sure. Most of the shade tolerant cultivars are thin blade. Not sure how they’ll blend.
      Check with a local sod supplier that may have some plots planted you can go look at.

      TTTF is the only great option for shaded areas in your region. Carful watering next to trees for long periods, can damage the bark.
      Zoysias like Zeon look pretty in good sun but tend to look weeker in shade and fill in way slower from traffic.
      Saint Augustine will be dormant for a bit longer depending on the variety and care.

    Do you add anything to the lawn in the shaded areas? My Zoysia really struggles where the house shades it half the day.

    • @ZoysiaRUs
      @ZoysiaRUs  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t really have any shady areas come summertime.

      Hey man there ain’t nothing wrong with a push mower.
      Just be thankful for what you’ve got and be grateful for another day above ground.

    My zoysia is THICK THICK! Pretty sure it was put down as sod in the 70's when my home was built though 😂

      That’s awesome. Mine gets super thick. That’s what i like about it, but it is tough to get scalped and makes a mess if you miss a mow

      @@ZoysiaRUs My yard is about 80% zoysia but the perimeter the previous owner put a flower bed there and now it's just weeds. Should I sprig the 20% weed area or seed with zenith zoysia? I was thinking of sprigging it with the zoysia from my backyard.

    • @ZoysiaRUs
      @ZoysiaRUs  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@phukyew14I would pull plugs from my existing yard unless it’s a large area and you alreadyvv have zenith. Then you could seed. But plugs are the better/easier option. I’ve never done sprigs.
