Yeah, growing up in the PNW we've sort of just been waiting for a disaster level earthquake for a while now. We hear every year how overdue we are for "the big one." It seems like there are a lot of massive earthquakes that are overdue all over the world.
@@DaftRaincloudI think the last big one was the Nepal one back in 2017/18/19, I can't remember the correct year. That one was predicted but I don't know whether that was also overdue or if it happened quite earlier
@@elianotari5132either Nepal or Turkey one but again predicting earthquake is more difficult than tornado or hurricanes since we haven't had the equipment for plate movement or volcanic activities as same level as the weather/tornado one yet.
And I'm going in August. Might not be any of us, but someone will probably be there when it finally does erupt... Terrifying thought from their perspective

I work in Japan, they really do deductions in salary for coming in late. There was this one time I was late for 1 minute. 1 MINUTE. They made me fill a form. So I wrote in there my supposed time for work (say 7:30) and the one minute late. So (7:30~7:31), my manager corrected me that if I got late even just for a minute it's already considered 30mins, or they have to record it as 30mins... They insisted that I should correct it and make it 7:30~8:00 Gosh. I got a deduction in my salary that month for that. How about all those times I stayed longer to finish my work? Japanese Society, yaay! If you work in Japan, get to work exactly on time, and leave on time. You got this 🙆🏻♀️
Maybe they could go to one of the disaster prevention education centers in Tokyo where they have shaking tables that simulate earthquakes of different magnitudes.
