I test drove one both an 86 and a BRZ. I get that these cars might not be “fast” compared to a Camaro or M2, but they aren’t slow either. I think people’s perception of speed is so warped by the highest ends of performance vehicles. Most of that power is unusable on the street anyways. Imo the 86/BRZ are pretty much perfect for a daily-drivable street car. Sure, 50-100 extra horsepower from the factory would be nice, and I doubt any owner would turn that down, but then these cars wouldn’t be starting at $30k. At the end of the day, you get what you pay for.
8:00 you pointed out something that makes me sad about where i live. Houston TX. Traffic here is horrendous. I'm in stop and go traffic in the morning for about 1.5 hours and almost 2 hours coming home. Makes me not even want to have a nice car or fun car to drive. Sad😢
Definitely not something i considered. When i had the wrx, it was bigger and roomier and comfier, so at least i was comfortable in traffic. In the brz/86 its easy to feel cramped and claustrophobic in traffic that isnt moving. RIP your commute though, that’s INSANE. And thats coming from someone with a 1.25-1.5 hour commute
Yeah no, im not adding $5k-$10k on performance mods to make this car keep up. At that point I couldve just used that money to get a faster and quicker car to begin with. If you want fast this car is not it. I personally bought it for looks and also I see way too many muscle cars on the street, didnt want those.
exactly! 30-35k car PLUS 5-10k for 300whp is crazy! 45k can get you a '24 mustang GT! its definitely a sharp looking car! my neighbors have asked if it was a Porsche lol
Hey man this is completely unrelated but i was watching one of your old tint videos and you mentioned that the 5% brow makes a huge difference. But you didnt really ellaborate on it. Id like to know how it affects everything because i wasnt originally going to get it. I have a single cab truck with 50 on the windshield, 20% on the sides(eventually i wanna do 15% because it has a few tiny bubbles here and there. And 5% on the rear glass. How would the brow affect looks?
Miata is always the answer… or is it? Really depends if you have another vehicle, want to make it a daily, need space, etc. all around good = BRZ/86. Pure fun/drivers car/weekend toy = nd2
Had mine for over a year now and everything you said was spot on! A pure driver's car indeed
glad I wasn't just spewing bs! I hope you're enjoying the car as much as you did the first day that you got it!

Spot on. Unless people want to track it which is only rare.
"Comparison is the thief of joy." As they say. I placed an order for a 2024 BRZ tS and I'm loving everything I'm hearing. 😁
Me too, knew 3 minutes into a test drive … picking it up this week.
Calvin and Tony are great people, nice to see you shouting them out
some of the best I've met and gotten to know in the car world! proud to call them my friends!

@KyleClimaco I would love a GR86 with manual. But I'm worried I'm gonna hate driving it in traffic every day. Well at least 3x a week. Sigh....
I have the auto, you won’t care that it’s an auto, just as fun
9:33 haha that was really cool
BRZ/86 or MX5 has WONDERFUL LOOKS AND SUPER FUN CAR TO DRIVE ❤️❤️❤️❤️. Manuel is a anti-carjacking device. ❤
