I love neutral decor too - it's very calming. Sometimes I use a soft color accent, such as faded aqua, soft sage. And also love French brocante. That's why I enjoy your channel!
My whole house is cream and straw colored inside and out! ☺️☺️. Pottery included. I love the silence it brings. Even my collie dogs are straw-colored. 💜.
I've been following your channel for a while. Love your decor & neutral colors. That's what I like also. I always seems to go either neutrals which I Love.. your decor is beautiful. Keep sharing more decor please. Much appreciated. Thank you. 🙏🏻 🤗
Oh and just now seeing you share my book! I commented before having watched the entire video. Thank you so much!! ❤ I didn’t know that first book and am definitely going to look into it!
I simply adore your neutral and calming colors! I long to be a minimalist but have to purge my maximalist habits! I always gain such inspiration from your vlogs and this one explaining your leaning toward neutral colors makes perfect sense. Thanks for creating such beautiful content for all of us to enjoy! I might have to invite you, Marloes and Sara to my Loire lavender barn to keep me reined in with minimal colors! Cheers!
Color psychology is definitely an interesting study…💕 Thank you for your comment and support on our channel Jill. Have a lovely rest of weekend and happy beginnings of fall soon.
Beautiful, Jenni ! Your style is my style. I agree with you about the 'calm' neutral color palettes can offer in a home. I can also appreciate color in spaces.....so pretty when colors complement each other. I love snugly spaces with a good book, as well. The emotional well-being that it offers is seriously like a bit of heaven on earth! I'm with ya, and thanks for the beautiful video!
I love the bed frame. It's refreshing not to see another second hand french upolstered head and foot board of dubious cleanliness, as you so often see used. I love your style. You make everything feel fresh, comfortable and hyggely.
Adore the beginning/opening of this video! Insight into your daily life with lovely videography. Your sense of humor makes your videos much more "human", more enjoyable then some other vlogs. Thank you for the decorating ideas i can use in my spare room!
Lovely inspiring video again. I also like neutrals in my house. Even my flowers and orchids are usually white and green, and my yard is mostly green shapes. The old books I collect, from my favorite authors, can't be red or bright. I do love color in other peoples houses and yards and like maximalist house tours with art all over the walls. But it does not make me feel calm. My guest room is asian inspired. My sister lived in China for 3 years, and after I visited there, I found a gorgeous floor to ceiling bookcase with bamboo doors and asian hardware here. Your home has soo much heart and is a reflection of you and Justin and is just perfect. 🍃
White orchids are beautiful and reminds me of clouds! ☁️ Do you have much success growing them? Thank you very much for sharing your message with us here. We can certainly enjoy another perspective and some insight into other’s ideas and show what a wonderful community this platform can be most times. Sending you cozy warm autumn vibes…
Not really growing orchids, but buying them, and they last months. I take them when they are done blooming to work, where there is more light, and they come back year after year with little water once per week. They have gotten much more affordable these days, so I can always have a few around the house. 😊 Enjoy the rest of your summer.
I appreciate a neutral palette.. it is calming, elegant and restful, refreshing but i do love color and am a bit of a maximalist in a restrained way .. i like what im seeing. I'm a new viewer.. you have a soothing voice.. oh... I too, have vitiligo. 🤍🕊️
Hello Melinda, thank you for sharing this message with us and for joining us. 💕 In a “restrained way”…yes I suppose I am a bit of maximalist way with my pottery. I didn’t realize that about my self. Have a lovely rest of weekend.
Well I usually wait until the evening to watch TH-cam but your notification popped up while I was drinking my coffee this morning and I couldn’t resist! Very much enjoyed spending the morning with you watching your routine, thank you 😊 and I think bringing in earthy colours for autumn is an easier start for neutral lovers and likewise chalky pastel colours for spring. Your home is looking beautiful, thank you for another lovely video. Hello to Brebis ❤️
Yes yes yes! I too am a soft neutrals person. I need my interiors to be "quiet" as well. Our garden has several colors throughout the spring/summer/fall as things are blooming...red, purple, white, yellow, orange and pink...All colors I love to see outdoors but use only softer versions of nature indoors (eg. a very soft and subtle teal). I LOVE your style. To my eye, it looks the perfect blend of a little minimalist with just the right touch of accessories. P.S. I too love reading and yes, it must be a book or magazine in hand...not a device 🙂
Exactly!! A wonderful balance for appreciating color is that it is adored outdoors. We have some pale green and yellow scattered in various rooms, so it not like we are completely without it. Soft teal is a lovely color, we found pottery with that color as it was magnificent. Thank you for sharing for your message. ❤️
Hi Jeni. Love your home and your calming colors. Your new pup is very sweet too. We have 2 dogs and I can't imagine our home without them. I love the fact that you can just open your doors and windows to the fresh morning air. I open mine as well, but, definitely need screens or we would have all manner of unwanted insects in our house. Do you not have to worry about bugs, birds or small animals coming in? Your videos are so beautiful and I look forward to watching them every week with my coffee, relaxing! 😃👍 Thanks. Greetings from Edmonton Alberta 👋🇨🇦
Thank you for your wonderful message. Our fur families are such a joy aren’t they?! Screens are not as common here in Europe and personally we’ve adjusted to the flies and spiders coming in, occasionally crickets, Pyrenees lizard and mice. We are no longer bothered by it. I have a cup and postcard to catch spiders and I take them back outside. Justin bought two humane mouse traps and we’ve caught them and drove miles away to let them go. Brebis enjoys chasing the lizards and country mice in the gardens, I believe her presence is helping keeping them further and further at bay. Yay!
@@Frenchcountryfriends I must say, you are braver than I am! I can handle spiders, but we have alot of mosquitos and wasps at this time of year that I dont want inside, and a mouse! I'd freak out! Haha! We had one in our garage years ago, and that was bad enough. Good you are getting used to it. I remember my grandparents in the Netherlands never had screens either and always left their doors and windows open, and I never saw the amount of insects that we have here. Maybe we need to move! 😉
You have a great taste! Your house feels very calm and aesthetically pleasing . I myself like a little splash of color, but you managed to make it very beautiful without it! Love it!
Thank you for sharing your message with us Deborah! There’s so much color and wonderful patterns outside of our homes…we can enjoy them and appreciate it then. 🦢
Hi there. I saw Caudalie in your dressing room. I ordered the night cream. I also use Osea. I wear Marilyn Miglin perfume for many years called Divine. She discontinued it tho. I love neutral colors but i wear black daily. Also, love pearls. My other colors are gray and chocolate brown. I d k why. Gardenias not only smell heavenly but would go nicely in any room of your house. Iove the pink hydrangea too. Nice to see you. Your doggie is so sweet. Hi Justin. But my house is greens and browns
Oh wonderful message Rhonda! We appreciate reading some things about you. Thank you! I’ll research Osae as I’ve never heard of it. When I lived in the very neutral exteriors in Paris, I wore black and blues almost daily. Now that I’m in the colorful countryside, I wear mostly cream. It’s been such a flip. 😂
@Frenchcountryfriends indeed. We change with nature's influence around us. One day I should love to have many gardenia bushes around me. Funny how sense of smell triggers memories and inspires us. Perhaps then I will wear more creams...which I do love very much. I started using Osea because it doesn't irritate my skin. It's 100% natural atmospheric protection. Made from seaweed I think solely. Beautiful glass packaging and family owned business. It's very luxe on my skin and very hydrating. See ya soon hopefully.
Thank you! Oh my that seems so long ago but you’re right it was only last year! 😵💫 Time is going by much too quickly. I hope you have an enjoyable weekend…
Bonjour Jenny, contente de te retrouver, peux tu me dire où tu as acheté ta suspension en osier dans la chambre d'amis, belle vidéo comme d'habitude ❤❤❤❤. Gros bisous Évelyne
I’m exactly the same with colour and textures .. neutrals allow me peace. I am a designer/seamstress, often wonder if it’s due to working so much with both loud textiles & people constantly 🤷♀️
I love walls & furnishings to be very neutral like antique whites & very light beiges. But for winter I like to add small pops of colour line rich burgundy & greens & gold. I feel I get dizzy with too much colour & patterns. It’s just not my thing. But I too appreciate them when I see others decorate with colours.
Thank you! We are married, we’ve adapted British/Australian English from time to time. 😆 Ohhh as for the children…that’s a great topic to share in another video.
Hi! In the beginning I did apply some cream but stopped. I had a spot on my thigh that pigmented fully earlier this year. Strange! I just try to eat a lot of beets, carrots and turmeric if I remember. I could be doing more…and you? Are you on a treatment?
@@Frenchcountryfriends not really I went to see a dermatologist she prescribed a cream but it doesn't do nothing.
