- With a lot of effort, help and luck we made it to the off grid cabin in the woods. Quite the journey to get there, but thats what I'll remember looking back on this trip.

Save yourself a pile of trouble, get a winch, either on the machine, or portable. Especially when by yourself. But, nothing is nicer than getting there and getting to look at the view.
Better still get one with caterpillar tracks on it.
Yeah tracks or even proper tires would have made this a lot less painful to watch 😅

Cool little cabin…looks to have an amazing view. As you now know a winch is a must. Also I think you need to “send” it a little harder and swap out those tires for something more aggressive. Great video…glad you took your pup along for the adventure.

Spectacular video man. I can’t help but think to myself that this guy proceeds to chop up and burn the wood he could have used to get the Kubota out of the mud without having to bug his friend.

Years ago I was out in a crickbed in a swamp in northern Minnesota in December. I was using a D15 allis Chalmers tractor and the same thing happened to me, not enough frost. I waited a couple weeks until the ground froze and drove it right out of there😊.

Ohhh the fun of ATV ing in the snow and mud. A winch is a must as you know now lol. I've had to pull myself out hooked to a tree many a time lol.

Chester is so much like my dog Tucker it's unreal not only looks but loves to eat, but running and sniffing in the woods and the water can't get too cold if he can break the ice he'll swim. Tucker likes mud as much as water lol.

All dog's like their blankey's. Including mine. Mine also requests a sweater!! LOL I mean he is a Cocker Spaniel but a very spoiled Cocker Spaniel. My boy is a baby for sure!!!

Tracks are the ticket. Your machine can go through anything
If you’re genuinely looking into getting a machine I would recommend the can-am defender. Stay away from Kubota as they are designed to drive around on packed trails and gravel roads. The defenders are literally designed to drive through swamps and mud is you get the xmr package.

Standard equipment s/b 100 feet of 1/2 inch yacht braid, a 12 volt portable winch. a comealong, and or a chain fall. Each can do wonders

Hey, try dragging some deadfall over(make sure no pointys will pop tires) and drive over the mud. I like 2 or 3 skinnier trees per side.. but it works.
I think "send it" is better advise in a situation like that. Momentum is your friend. Approach the trouble spot with the maximum speed you can manage and especially with mud, tires rotating at high RPM will fling the mud off the tire for maximum traction. No guarantee but those are your best odds of making it through. :)

Winch on front and back and cut tree branches to fill the low ponding spots to pass over. We had a cottage on an island bush and the trails we made this way a chainsaw makes fast work of it

That Kubota is meant for light stuff especially with those tires a forest with easy terrain and definitely no snow. Oh well experience is everything in life, I got plenty experience four wheeling but not much doing other things . You live and learn .

You’re gonna need some more aggressive tires on the kubota. It doesn’t look like it’s built for crazy off roads might want to upgrade it so u don’t keep having the same issue

you can get a cheap harbor freight winch, if you don't already have one. winch will get you out every time.
Your buddy needs a winch on his machine. We all have one in Colorado
Putting chains on the tires will also help with the traction.
You gotta get out of low gear when trying to get through mud. Keep it locked, 4 hi and send it. You need speed to get through because you don’t have great mud tires or weight on your side.

Nice video. I have watched many of these style videos and it seems they all follow the same format. Find the cabin , cut wood, start a fire, unpack everything and then cook something to eat. Then pack up and go home. Now don't get me wrong I like seeing all the gear and how it is used and the person hiking and having fun but maybe change the format. This was good because he got the Kubota stuck which changed the format
