I referenced one of my grocery customers to you, Drain Addict and Penetrator because consistently, she was ordering two or three packs of wipes, a bunch of baby food, four gallons of distilled water and Liquid Plumber. I wrote her a note and advised her not to flush the wipes and to watch your channel to see why. :)
yes please always show us everything like you did in this one from comment left. I hope to see everything in future videos. thanks for showing us what you do thus far!
Love the new caps they look easier to access. That was a change from the client's saying I don't know how the wipes got in there. Hopefully this was a lesson. I just toss them in my little barrel and throw the little bags out frequently. And A1 job!
Good morning Donald great job I guess they will never learn to stop using wipes but you will get the job done keep up the good work and have a bless week
Excellent work again Donald, and you have a great chat up line with the lady's (do you want to see what comes out your drain🤣) great job done well done💪🏻
question for you… other than not flushing wipes and pouring bacon grease down drains what would you suggest to do maintenance wise or your drains to keep the build up down? hot water flush, baking soda/ vinegar flush, a gallon of acid down drains every 3 months????
Absolutely love watching your videos! I wait for the customers to say something after you tell them what you found clogging their drain(s). Come on now, you know what you put in there, not like it’s some magic clog fairy coming to stop it up🤣
Don't sweat those questions about things you know about and we don't like the tightening that happens off camera. When I first started watching your channel a LONG time ago I gave you grief about not turning the caps out with a pipe wrench and instead using a hammer. After watching many of your videos I see that there are a few that might work on but the vast majority the pipe wrench wouldn't fit in the hole where you could get it to turn and the even larger majority wouldn't spin since everyone has been banging them in with a hammer since the beginning of time. That seems to be a regional thing since here in Minnesota we don't have pits like this with traps, everything is exposed in he basement so it's easy to get it. Once it goes beneath the level of the floor it's one elbow and a straight shot to the mains. Here most of the time you can get them to turn unless it's original from the 1900 era and then you are probably breaking it all apart and putting in a union to some new PVC. Anyway, the point is, you know what you are doing for your jobs so don't sweat those of us that DON'T know how to do stuff where you live.
Not the easiest access but she seemed pleasant. Are most of the places you work multifamily? Every place always is flooded. I'm surprised wet wipes aren't outlawed there. Except if your rich!🤣
I do not care what companies write on their packages of wipes- I was always taught since as far back as I can remember not to flush anything except toilet paper. I'm very picky about what goes down my kitchen sink as well! I prefer to keep my pipes and septic as clean as possible lol!
@@Ronjonsensorrow I never stated they didn't still collect some debris over time lol! I did state that I am very picky about what goes down any drain (especially my kitchen sinks and all toilets) to help keep the pipes "as clean as possible." You won't find any food, oils, grease, etc in my pipes haha! You also do not have to worry about me ever calling you- we have our own amazing handyman that maintains our properties 😜
Really, OP?: _”These are more FRESH…”_ in the description of more recent wipes? 😂 Maaan, you are far too kind. Once something enters the sewer system *fresh* is no longer available in the plumber’s lexicon. 🤣
Any reason the access holes are often left as dirt on the bottom instead of being cemented level with the tops of the U-trap. I would have thought that the potential for raw sewage to infiltrate the soil and ground water would have the building codes requiring something like that.
this is the easiest way to do it. The pipes are laid in the dirt, and a box is built around the access point, then they pour the basement floor. The amount of crap in this pit is really minor over a period of decades between cleanings. Also, think about the fact there were no wipes when this was designed 100 years ago.... and laundry was done with hot water so less soap scum.
A question for you, is that soap buildup from powdered laundry soap or does any soap buildup like that? I also was wondering if that was the mother in law cup you used? Another great video! Thanks Donald.
Most any type of soap will create soap scum, but some do create more than others. Powdered soap can make a huge mess if you use too much of it, you can use so much that there isn't enough water to dissolve all of it, and it gets flushed into the sewer lines still in powder form. Manufacturers also use fillers and other non-soap compounds in powdered soap, like surfactants and fragrance that don't dissolve well in water. Anecdotal experience, but my grandma used to always use powdered laundry soap, and waaaay too much of it at that. My clothes always felt gritty like they had sand in them.
Lady: ohhh please don't put me on camera, I'm not camera ready... Lady we gotz your poops, corn & 800lbs. of wipes on camera... LOL!!! Hoping all is well Bud, Dirty Jersey out!!
a post for the viewers... 2am here. I watched the video and then took a huge poop.. I have learned that poop will break down in water but toilet paper and poop will clog.. I dropped a logged and then flushed... not enough fiber.. the toilet backed up... I used the plunger and flushed again.. all was good.. then I wiped the butt... another flush.. all was good.. had I pooped and wiped,,, odds are good it would have filled the 4 inch pipe and needed an expensive service call to break down my logger
Keep putting bleech or disintectañt and flushing . To keep from buildup. Everyday. 👍👍👍👍🤪🤪🤪🤪Ratty don't eat corn any more he is allergic. 🐀🌽. GREAT JOB DONALD👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
@NYDRAINS my daughter is a bit naive for 24. At the grocery store I exclaimed, "corn frittatas!" In the frozen vegetable section. Her eyes widened and she said, "Really?" Later at home she asked why we had so much corn in the fridge, and I told her it was because we don't have sewage problems, so we can eat anything we want.
Good afternoon boss hey I want to send you a tool that I think you can use so is there a PO Box that you have so I can send you things you like this tool that I’m talking about, it’s like a screwdriver but it isn’t a screwdriver does that make any sense oh well but is there a PO Box that you might have set up so you can receive things from your viewers? When I do set up a P.O Box I'll definitely let you know, the storm water usually goes in the main line to drain way from the house so when it clogs up sewage/water will start to back up from the lowest point which was the floor/yard drain in front of the door. Thanks for the offer 👍
