Brilliant, seen this a couple of years ago and changed the band monitor, click set up for a similar result . Best thing I've done and results have been outstanding , watch and learn folks.
You can hear the large amount of backing tracks they use. There are synths, more guitars, additional percussion, and probably backing vocals in other songs. It's actually a great sound they manage to make. I don't consider it cheating, just augmenting the band. I'm looking forward to doing it myself with my band.
It's a case of modern technology. Led Zeppelin had songs that sonicly could only be played right in studio using multitrack and they couldn't play them live. U2 has the technology and complex soundscapes, so they use it to full potential.
I think that the reason why there's those reminders is to keep the whole band together... most likely the drum IEM-mix will have a click track going on all the time...
It's no wrong with the company . But my dog daed are in this i t I try to make a direct message and info . A bugg and one true data that's sort of mess in confused add review helpful in getting the right to your website. We can help. If we t ybayyby
this is amazing...great idea for keeping right on time..You have to have an amazing time keeper when you use delay like Edge. Most drummers speed up when they "get into" the moment.
Not surprised . . . Orchestras have conductors. While not an orchestra, I would expect this though, a show with a production scope and budget of this size, with sync tracks, programmed lighting and effects, etc. requires someone on clear com to call cues, etc.
It's interesting to hear how much they use the computer to count them in, but understandable as they use so much backing tracks, they have to stay on beat or the song is messed up
great idea? playing to a click in a live environment is one thing but having a damn robot counting you in each time you got to play another part would definitely confuse me more than simply remembering when the next part is coming. i don't get it and the delay is not that much of a problem either
Martini Tyran nothing goes into edges IEM mix unless he asks for it. It’s his mix. He needs it there, if he comes in a bar late all the tracks are wrong and the lighting and video is also wrong. This is extremely common place in large productions, heck these days even small ones are using slates.
There is no one else that plays like The Edge, he is on his own in regards to his style and his sonic genius, what a legend what a band
Wow - I fucking love this! Awesome to hear Edge's guitar so prominent. To hear even more of the multiple layers and sounds he creates....

The click and cues are to keep the band in time with the video production. This isn't a bar band, the entire show is well orchestrated with the media.

Show me an "additional guitar"

Listening to this with my IEM's in now! Sounds amazing! Wish the quality was a bit better though! Almost like being on stage with the guys!

Another million dollars earned....another million two three four....

The cues are done by the computer that is running the click and backing tracks, not by a person. They are pre-programmed into the track.
orchestra conductors don't really keep time. The musicians are pros and can do that as an ensemble.
This is brilliant, our lead singer missed his cue countless times :))
We use this same concept for ears at my church. Click tracks with vocal cues.
no, this is cue is from the backtrack metronome, recorded with the click
Fantastic.
No its not, i have a U2 cover band and we use it a lot. Have a cue telling you when is your part helps to reduce mistakes...

Edge, let's the blues...
sounds exactly like Dallas Schoo counting

It's a different experience when playing and sometimes can get lost
Does anyone know what kind of shaker-metronome they're using?
thanks
Digital Performer (MOTU DP) - That's a statement, not an opinion.
Robot ? isn't his guitar tech counting ?
