I respect the Lox, they are one of my favorite groups and one of the rare ones that didn't let the industry divide them. Especially after starting their careers with Bad Boy. However, this is a prime example of how blackballing and hiding the truth eventually reveals itself years later. J-Hood had spoken on issues with the Lox and D-block records for over 15 years, however the platform wasn't big enough to grab anyones attention and the Lox knew with their industry ties that musically J-Hood would never get a chance to really grab any major attention from high profile artists or publications again. Hence, why Styles P and Sheek never needed to address anything related to J-Hood ( Jadakiss was a lot more mainstream of an artist). However with these popular podcasters willing to invite some of these obscure artists from the 2000s mixtape days on their show it's getting difficult for these industry rappers to hide the fact that they indeed did some of the same foul business tactics that they were victims to earlier in their careers. I truly believe that Styles and Sheek were struggling to stay afloat while dealing with legal fees as well as dealing with Diddy owning half their publishing. This also probably explains why there was such a large gap in between the Lox's second group album and third group album. Choke no Joke, FLip Da Script, Gene Deal, VladTv and My Expert Opinion are shows that are gaining a bit of attention because they discuss the underbelly of corporate hiphop.

Based on his reaction, Styles didn't watch the interview/clips. Hood was very respectful and in a lot of ways expressed remorse for how he fell apart with the Lox. It seems like perhaps he received second hand information. Also to put in perspective, J Hood was a teenager when he started to bubble. He expressed on a few occasions that he dealt with the situation the way he did because of youthful ignorance. I hope at least Styles can look at what was actually spoken during the interview. It might not happen anytime soon because the good brother seems quite upset. Hopefully time allows him to look at everything in it's totality.

Was it that they didn't want Jay Hood to surpass them or blow up more than them, because he wasn't originally part of the Lox? I hope not. It's messed up all the way around, because I rock with all of them.

What does you listening to J Hood have to do with them taking 60k from him?

@@QueenAnitaSoul1 cause J Hood been telling the same story since day one & the lox have been nothing but aggressive about the situation he also mentioned the label who gave him the money & the persons name idgaf about his homeboy stealing money don’t mean you were mistreated anyway wtf does that suppose to mean?
Styles P always keeps it a buck & always get respect from me. Whenever he speaks, he drops knowledge, truth & jewels every time!!!
Dam bro u broke dat down exactly lol I luv da Lox but like u said dey neva addressed it in 20yrs cuz dey neva really had 2 but now dese podcasts havin dese undaground artists on dey got a story 2 n it's sumthin shady goin on wit dat 60k lol

@@daminharris3879 I honestly think Sheek used J-hood to take advantage of his label budget. Hood was on both of Sheek's singles off his first two albums but you don't release his album? . D-Block had no intention of releasing his album. From about 2004-2009 you can name so many artist who released albums in major retail outlets that were signed to other artist. Jr Ryder, Hell Rell, Drag-On, 40 Cal, Lil Scrappy, Dem Franchise Boys, Jim Jones, Consequence, Cassidy, Freaky Zeakey, Big Kuntry, Blood Raw, Gorilla Zoe, Lil Wyte, Theodore Unit, Byrd Gang, Remy Ma, OJ Da Juiceman, Tony Yayo, Triple C's Young Dro, Young Jeezy's CTE and these are artist that didn't sell that many units by themselves. You mean to tell me J-Hood album couldn't compete with that in the market place? SMH....
Ironically yes! After "We are the streets", coincidentally is the time J-hood was prevalent in the dblock camp, & shortly thereafter the famous refrigerator threat from jada to diddy.

I rock with styles, but he didn't really have a valid explanation for the 60k. He Needs to clear up whether or not, if that person that works at Koch Records told Hood that they wrote him a 60k emergency check, and Hood not knowing about it. Is that true or false ? I also feel that they didn't do enough for Jay Hood to drop his first album. Hood wasn't Wack. Was it that they didn't want Jay Hood to surpass them or blow up more than them, because he wasn't originally part of the Lox? I hope not. It's messed up all the way around, because I rock with all of them.

Styles either couldn’t comprehend or he didn’t watch everything hood said
I def didn't see any slander in what Jhood was saying.. he spoke how he felt and did it with the upmost respect. Even said multi[le times throughout the interview with all due respect. He also even said that he shouldn't have handled things the way he did and that he was wrong about that...with all that being said what reason does he have to lie about the 60k...tbh maybe that's the reason he began to feel that he wasn't going to stay loyal and decided to drag the d block chain etc.....Things don't happen for nothing. Lots of built-up disappointment from those he looked up to. Jhood seems really humble. When he drug the chain he was at the end of his rope and had no other choice but to react that way. A human can only take so much wrongdoing to them eventually they will lash out.....If everything was all good financially for hood while with d-block he wouldn't have drug that chain. He did it at that point cause he had nothing to lose and wasn't making anything anyway. He got tired of putting on an image for the squad like he really financially in order and d-block got him living well. He said he didn't want to be the type to run around like he got it like that but really don't. He said jada nem was telling him man you have to keep your image a certain way cause you represent d-block. They were giving him clothes etc so that he could.
