I appreciate the size of the stump but really with a machine that big and expensive i would have thought it would eat through it a bit quicker than that.

There's something so satisfying about watching a mulcher do its thing...
Man, that thing is frightening. I love it!
Would it be more efficient to pick up the stump and put it inside a machine designed to chip it or haul it away? The mulcher is designed for clearing smaller trees. It can mulch it, but the stump is too big for the 800 model.
How do you see what you are doing? Wonder what the view from the cab is like?
It may be easier to just pick the stump up in a stump pile and stick a match to them. I agree that it's a slow process and uses up a lot of diesel fuel and time.
I was doing that with a John Deere 8400 and PTO FAE in 1999 it worked that tractor though
if you are a pro driver in those machines then they will be no match for you ;)

4 minutes, too long unless that is your only option or your only stump. Tub grinders love stumps.
Mulching this material back into the ground is sustainable practice. the problem is everyone wants to just burn everything. It may take some time but it is better for the forest The ground will benefit greatly from this material getting mixed back in. No I'm not a hippie I work building logging roads, and also operate on the logging side of things. We have done nothing, but take from the forest in most places we never give anything back. This may take more time and go through a lot of diesel but it is good stewardship practice for the forest. And that is what is important. People only think of there bottom line instead of good forestry practice
Yeah, and tons of polluted air from burning gallons of diesel fuel to bust that stubborn little stump. Probably more than just burning it, co2 or not.

Kool machine but way to much energy spent on 1 stump get out the matches and some diesel fuel! And keep on rollin!
Thats what I was thinking. The fuel used on the this stump could burn it and no wear and tear on the machine.

Has major flaws to it the unit itself to bloody small for something this big, pick on small stumps you clown, the other is which is a big factor is how the hell can he see that stump that is a shit load of machine power for a small job, She'll have sore teeth after that
