Thank you for watching! For anyone wondering why I've only used footage of the first game, it was to avoid potential takedown requests. Footage of Nintendo-exclusive games have the unfortunate tendency of being bombarded with copyright claims, strikes etc., so I've mainly used footage from the PS4 version of Bayonetta 1, which was published by Sega. I hope you enjoyed today's discussion and if you've never played Bayonetta before, I hope this video peaked your interest in it. Cheers!
Depends on the footage. If it's current games that's not much of an issue. For trailers I think it's case-by-case. For emulated footage...well you know what happens. They're very inconsistent with this.
The thing about HiFi Rush is that it WAS financially successful, the reason Tango was shuttered had nothing to do with sales, it was simply because they were looking for studios to shut down so that shareholders would see that they experienced "growth" on their balance sheets. Tango was just unlucky that they were an easy target to be shut down because after HiFi's release they hadn't had the chance to start work on a new game, meaning that Microsoft saw them as an easy expense to get rid of.
Not really. It was bc the director left this means the studio doesn't have the same potential, so Microsoft shut it. Microsoft gives a lot of money only if they see potential if they don't they close you.
By porting Bayonetta 2, they have the opportunity to fix almost all of the gameplay issues, such as: limited time for fights, allowing you to juggle enemies more freely without Witch Time, making the Wicked Weave stronger, redesigning Witch Time so that it does not depend on the type of enemy attack, but on the time you dodge, and one of the most important things is blocking and dodging enemies, especially humanoid bosses.
I have Bayonetta 1 on Steam but haven’t bothered to finish it because I know I can’t play the others. If they port the other games to Steam I’d definitely buy them to play the full series
I think this could happen, but it would take Nintendo some convincing. Previously, they've held co-ownership of the Fatal Frame/Project 0 IP with Koei. 4 and 5 were developed for the Wii and Wii U exclusively with Nintendo providing development support. For the current versions, while I believe Nintendo is credited in the Switch versions, their names are scrubbed from the other ports. W101 is also like this. If 2 and 3 left the Switch, then the same logic would probably apply. Nintendo did allow for Sega to use the JP dub of Bayo 1, which originated on the Wii U version, for the modern ports, so i think it can happen.
Indeed. The situation with Fatal Frame was even stranger than with Bayonetta, so the fact those games were eventually ported leaves me feeling optimistic here as well. Appreciate your thoughts on the matter!
I'm a bit of a Nintendo diehard myself around these parts. Not a blind fanboy since their IP protection gets me annoyed like anyone else does, but I play a lot of their games. I was there during the Wii U days which you may as well call Nintendo's own great depression. Nowadays, even if some games aren't really up to snuff (mostly their sports game releases), their core games have always jived with me. I also play a lot of RPGs these days and Nintendo is the place if you are a fan of the genre assuming you don't have a good PC. Of course I do own a PC and a PS5 which is how I play RGG's titles. Their reasoning on not being on the platform is rather infamous (I think Yokoyama should've just said "the power is a problem" and left it at that. I think the whole "not wanting kids to play it" part is a bit ridiculous, also the failure of RGG1+2 HD on Wii U). I think they'll come around once the successor comes into play since it's sounding like a massive power jump, and in age where games are both too expensive to produce and take years to come out, I think scaling back has become more important than ever.
@@RoboticEdward Funny how they stated that, I know for sure 3-K1 could run on a switch and probably even on a Wii U, and kids playing it doesn’t mean much because I remember he stated that some folks on the dev team now played their games in elementary school, and there’s definitely quite a bit of young kids that play higher rated games, myself included when I was a kid.
@@MadDogSolo Yeah the reasoning is pretty nonsensical to me. Felt like it was said just to justify not putting it on the Switch when they could've just left it to a power problem and moved on. I do think 3-K1 could run but I think they'd want the whole series available with no compromise. I'm sure the DE titles can run since it's more stable now, but I think they'd prefer a more powerful system to make porting more worthwhile.
thanks to my friend whos a horny ass mf who was begging me some bayonetta "goodies", he got me into bayonetta and i guess it was a good thing cuz, this year ive been breezing through hack and slash games and ESPECIALLY bayonetta, i might replay the 2nd game alot of times i want since its my favourite entry!
I've been told to play these games but I've only seen 1 and 3 in stores and I would rather have access to all of them on 1 console instead of all over the place and a missing 2.
While Sega does own the bayonetta ip nintendo partially owns the rights to bayonetta 2 and 3 I don't know about origins. I don't think a bayonetta 2 port would happen unless nintendo got desperate.
We don’t know if Nintendo owns the rights to bayonetta 2 and 3. Sure Nintendo published it but for all we know sega could still own the rights to those games
Can't say you don't have an OPINION, lol! 🤣 B3 definately had some ISSUES, for sure - but, overall, I did enjoy my time completing it. Saying it was bad on EVERY level is a bit of a stretch. 🐙 A thoughtful remaster with a few graphiic, gameplay & story trweaks would go a long way to ismooth-out some of its generally agreed upon areas of roughness. 🤔🥰
In general, I'm a "GAMEPLAY 1st" style person. I rarely care about "great story" in my interactive sessions. That's why B3's questonable narrative beats didn't bother me much. Now, if they make a Bayo live-action MOVIE then I'd probably care more about it there. 🎬🧙🏽♀️🎥
It doesn’t matter Bayonetta 2 and 3 needs to be ported for the sake of performance. They would play better on 60 fps and ps4 already has a strong catalog of games so why not?

I'd love to see native PC ports of Bayo2/3, but in the meantime Ryujinx has kept me happy.

Fair point. I've just revisited Hi-Fi after Tango's closure and I'm still mad about the outcome.
@@gokudoni yeah, its so frustrating, Tango deserved so much better...

I want Bayonneta 2 with it's soundtack on Steam.
That Moon River rendition is fantastic

I did remember something like that, they don’t necessarily own the IP, but they helped fund the exclusive ones.

Bayonetta 2 should at least get a port since it's the missing half of Bayo 1's story.

Doesn't really matter, the third one was bad on every level. Dead franchise.

@@KelvinMMoore693 would need a entire rewrite of the story like just making a few changes would not salvage that terrible story
ngl 3 is EXTREMELY fun if you ignore ~80% of the game, so not dead just writhing and convulsing in a foaming mess
