    At 53 I’m getting back into mountain biking. It’s been about ten years since I rode mountain bikes. Hopefully I’ll see ya on the trails someday.

    I remember building that first janky water crossing back in 2003-2004. Glad to see it's still as challenging as it was back then.

    Nice job. You pick better lines than me on some of those spots and I ride those trails all the time!

      Thanks man - I’ve ridden there 4 or 5 times over the years so I’ve gotten a few good lines down

    Oh man, I did this run blind for the first time a few weeks ago... It was pretty packed when I was there. Gotta get there again when it's not so busy!

      Yea - it definitely gets busy - weekdays in the morning aren’t too bad

      Dude - you’re gonna love the JRPS trails - make sure to check out Pocahontas State Park as well - it’s also an awesome trail system right outside town. If you’re looking to head west for real MOUNTAIN riding, we have some good stuff in Charlottesville but the trails west of Staunton and Harrisonburg in the GEORGE Washington Natl Forest are incredible!

      It’s a super fun trail system - between this and the Pocohantas trail just outside the city you could have a ton of fun

    If you take the new teapot bridge over the James (just past bell isle on northbank) you can avoid the whole spire climb and as an added bonus you get to do the new buttermilk west section as well. I haven’t climbed those steps in a few years now since they put that new section and bridge in. It’s also an incredible view of the city and river as it crosses over right next to the old Manchester bridge. Let me know next time you’re back, I’d love to get a ride in together sometime! Solid loop and video! 🤘🏼🚵🏻‍♂️

    That’s a cool trail system. Didn’t realize Richmond had that. I’m in Roanoke and might need to go check that out. Thanks for sharing

      It’s super unique how it’s built right into downtown and the trails are super unique ... The trails at Pocohantas State Park are pretty awesome too ... RVA is a low key awesome MTB spot

      @@FoCoFlowShow thanks! For first trip to Richmond would you suggest Pocahontas or James River. They both look great. Thanks

      @@chrismichael3916 Poco has way more
      Mileage and some really cool jumps and flow trail (millstone, blueberry etc) but parts of hit can feel a little redundant . JRPS has the wow factor and uniqueness of being right downtown set against the backdrop of the city... if I had to choose ONE to ride while in town I’d go JRPS just BC it’s unlike anything else I’ve found in VA. But you can’t go wrong either way

      Sick system, thanks for the great review. How long would you say it takes to make this loop around the system for an intermediate rider (assuming i can traverse without getting lost)? Tia

    Very cool. I enjoyed this video. Liked and subbed. What kind of bike do you have, or rather, what travel of suspension does your bike have? I was there today (James River Park and Belle Isle on foot, walking dog) for the first time, scoping out the fishing and biking and I'm going back with my bike asap and see some more because I obviously didn't explore enough.

    • @FoCoFlowShow
      @FoCoFlowShow  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Awesome - thanks for the sub! I
      Riding a V1 Ibis Ripmo (160/145) enduro bike - more than you need for JRPS but I ride in GWNF and other mountain trails a lot so better to be over biked once and a while

    • @chefjimmie1
      @chefjimmie1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@FoCoFlowShow I could tell that you were on a top of the line bike by how fast you were going on the rocks and the sound the bike made absorbing the bumps. A bit out of my price range at the moment but someday maybe 🤔

      @FoCoFlowShow  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chefjimmie1 Hahha - thanks - it’s a sweet bike for sure - depending on your budget thr Ripmo AF or a YT Jeffsy or commencal meta would provide pretty awesome performance in a slightly heavier aluminum frame

      @@FoCoFlowShow I have a Kawasaki KLR 650 (only a few thousand $ more than your Ibis Ripmo) and have always wanted to go to GWNF and just go nuts on the dirt trails there. The most beautiful spot in VA but I'm lazy. I twist my right hand to go. (you and I both know there's a lot more to it than that!) However, at times, I've gotten more out of breath riding my KLR than my old mountain bike! She's a heavy beast to be slinging along the narrow trails. Happy riding!
