It's lovely! Maybe you could add a door to the bakery kitchen from next to her staircase. So she can do some late night baking without having to go outside.
I think Mervin should have one nice thing in his apartment, like the Wedding Stories tea set. But it's only because it's his ex-wife's family heirloom and he refuses to return it. He doesn't use it, he doesn't like it but he's just that much of an ah. **edit** it could even have a little sized down spiderweb on it.
Love this. I think Evie definitely needs a bike to do bakery deliveries for the old dears who cant get out that often. And someone suggested a door from her stairs to the bakery, that's a good idea too.
Maybe adding an arch into the living room rather than a door would make the space feel slightly bigger and also bring through more natural light into the kitchen
To make Mervin the landlord, have him be the only resident while it is just a residential. Then from live mode swap to buildmode and change it to rental residential. Since he owned the residential, he should now be the landlord (worked for me in a similar thing). You can then add the various units (I suggest starting from having everything shared space and work your way building by building) and move sims in.
Move the kitchen to the front...where the bathroom is..and put the bathroom in the back..where the kitchen was...no window in the bathroom...that's ok... in a lot of d builds. I just love you...and I enjoy your walks too!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
@DevonBumpkin I look forward to you videos..I just wanted you to know you have a wonderful eye. You could do multiple builds on every site...I will watch everyone...sometimes twice..or 3 times! 🥰
move them in from the world view. the world menu. after you set it up as rentals. That is what i see alot of ppl do it works that way. You just move them in to the houses u want them in
Idea for Merv the Per... ANYWAY! you could have a bucket with newspapers underneath, like he has a leak in the ceiling + with some gross stains that shows maybe the wood is rotten or mouldy. You could also have a set up where there's a hole into Evie's Flat, and he spies on her? Ooooohhh, you could also show that he keeps a book with all the secrets of his tenants, that he uses to blackmail them? I'm getting real Lemony Snicket's Count Olaf vibes from Merv. Hope this makes sense x P.S. Love your videos, brilliant job on Evie's flat xxx
Just take everyone off the lot, make Mervin rich enough to buy it, and move him in first. Then have everyone else rent a flat with him. Bob’s your uncle and Fanny’s your aunt 😂 (oh and move Mervin in before you turn the rest into flats)
Hey Aden! Here is How I would organize your residential rental: 1. Separate the households in manage worlds. (Create new households for each family) 2. Make sure Mervin is the only sim living in Cobblebottom Row. 3. Go into live mode, playing as Mervin. While on the lot, enter build mode and change CBR from Residential to Residential Rental (this should make Mervin the landlord) 4. Separate flats, set rent, and rules. 5. Go to manage worlds, turn on the free real estate cheat and move the families in from your manage households menu.
Aden, I must tell you that you never fail to make me laugh when watching your videos. Especially when you talk about the objects being ugly or my fave "the curtains are disgusting!" 😂😂
I hope you don’t mind me repeating my comment from the first part of this but I can’t get this storyline out of my head: I definitely see Mervin as having been brought up with a Nanny and servants in the family home before the Fall of the House of Mervin. So he was a spoilt brat his whole life, and when his wife realised that there would be no more money for hired help she flat out refused to be Mervin’s servant. She managed to get a good deal of his family’s left over wealth including some antiques that she sold and she now runs an antique store in the Hamlet. Mervin meanwhile lives amongst the detritus of is family’s past glory, refusing to sell any more even though some of his furniture (dirty and unkempt as it is) is still quite valuable.
I love this lets build the worlds series. Ive been here for 5 years now. And you always deliver great content. One solution i cant think of for a skylight in the kitchen is like a turret style. A small 2x2 room up there with windows that gives light from above.
You know, what I think would be a kinda cool vibe is if he had some furniture that his ex wife picked out and it's clearly more stylish then whatever he had. He doesn't really care for furniture, so he would maybe have some poorly maintained originals from the house. Mixed with maybe an eclectic mix of second hand, but not in a good way that some people pull it off in their homes.
How would you feel about putting an archway from evies kitchen to the lounge? Also i think the landlords appartmen should be more on the messy side. He can be a depressed slob who doesnt bother to fix or clean his things so his own apartment should look like hes the one who should be kicked out 😂 mouse hole, used fridge/ cabinets and counters? But a few trinkets which belonged to his wife
Evie's flat is lovely! I think Mervin's flat is probably very messy, with lots of clothes thrown around, and I definitely see him having a chair next to that little window he uses to peek on his neighbors. See you tomorrow!
I think Marvin's furniture is the idea to use some of the furniture from werewolves and basement treasures it had some warm and crappy furniture and maybe some tears of wallpaper from vampires and werewolves and also mold
Only “solutions” for the gameplay issue of how to allocate everyone to each house I can think of is assigning the bed and locking the doors to the specific sims you want in each house 🤷🏻♀️ I don’t have the for rent pack and many packs in general so I’m not sure if there’s an option with one of those 🤔 5:42 ohhh that solution for the stair issue was delicious. I nicking that. 12:56 that whole hideous curtain roast though 😆 no lies were told. Come on sims team give us some decent curtains and blinds. I always end up using the home decor ones in every bloody build. 14:23 finally, someone says it. The tones on that booknook case are flippin AWFUL. I was so excited about the items in that pack only to be disappointed yet again with swatches 🙄 20:31 oh Aden buy me dinner first 😂 Flat looks gorgeous! Excited to see Mervin’s shithole come to life 🤌
I would recommend saving the build as a residential before changing it to a rental because the first time i made a rental property, once i went to move my sims in i found that it had completely broken one of the floors and it was so frustrating to try and fix it that i, on the verge of tears decided to just abandon it
I always do a tree tile bedrooms , half tile on both sides of the bed works perfectly fine for two lovebirds 😂❤ , but I am a freaking minimalist obsessed with small homes and I am perfectly fine with just one floor light next to the bed 😊 I absolutely adore your style by the way 💕
I think Mervin would probably have a flag somewhere in his flat, because he's a true patriot who shares awful memes on Simbook about how the dastardly Windenburg elite are plotting against plucky little Henford on Bagley.
Loving the pastels!! Also maybe you can break up the wall and put and arch between the living and dining/ kitchen so it gets more natural light coming from the living room
Merv's bedroom should be so cluttered with junk that he can't get to the bed. He's refused to sleep in the bed since his wife left him and sleeps on the sofa. He never gets a good night's sleep and it makes him extra grumpy. Maybe the bed still has a cute floral bedspread she left. And a path through the clutter to his "nosing window".
1:09 how about a door so that only she can get behind the sales table? And as houses glitch if there's multiple kitchens, if she is the only one who can enter there and the kitchen from the stairway will it maybe count as a different kitchen and yet not glitch. Hopefully..!
@@DevonBumpkin So that's why I like the Watson Farm so much! 😆(side note, I used The Gnomes Arms as a place for my Sim to "live" when I did a rags to riches Henford-on-Bagley playthrough. It worked really well!)
Which pack is that pride poster at 18:08 from? And what is it called? I love it and I want to use it, but there are so many wall decorations that I get exhausted just scrolling through them all 😅
It's lovely! Maybe you could add a door to the bakery kitchen from next to her staircase. So she can do some late night baking without having to go outside.
That's exactly what I was coming to say.
Good idea, I tried it but it just doesn't make sense for the lot realistically :)

oh my gosh that would be incredible

I would do that
My exact thought, and then the living room could be open
I did this and it works so much better! Thank youuu!

Yes, this, but first buy the property with the landlord sim, then make it residental rental, after move the others in.

I think you could put a door downstairs of Evie's flat that connects right into the big kitchen downstairs :)
Just take everyone off the lot, make Mervin rich enough to buy it, and move him in first. Then have everyone else rent a flat with him. Bob’s your uncle and Fanny’s your aunt 😂 (oh and move Mervin in before you turn the rest into flats)

I think a chair should be put in front of that little window in Mervin's flat so it looks like he spends all his free time spying on the neighbors!
Maybe some of the items from that basement kit and werewolves would go great in his apartment. Kinda grungy, hand-me-down type items. :)

The Book Nook bookcases look like particle board shelving you'd find at a discount shop. I want to like them but they look so cheap.
I need someone to make a compilation of all the filthy things Aden says
this is such a cute home!!! can't wait for the rest tomorrow!!!
On the small space at her door, I would imagine a cute little bike which she is using to get around in Henford on Bagley.🥰

0.9 isn't terribly fussy. What is? The fact that my favorite resize numbers (that I use most often) are 0.997 and 1.05!
I think Merv would have lots of papers scattered around. He's always complaining about something to the Council. and yes, I am wearing underwear 🤣
I think Mervin would probably have a flag somewhere in his flat, because he's a true patriot who shares awful memes on Simbook about how the dastardly Windenburg elite are plotting against plucky little Henford on Bagley.

"Please don't say fuck or bugger" was that a Jay Britton quote? 😂
IF Evie can't get up the stairs 'cos of the garbage, you can put it downstairs in that little hallway thingy area.
You could move the bathroom to where the kitchen is and switch them around so the kitchen has a big window. Love your videos ❤
I’m excited the cover photo already looks cute watching the ad lmao
Lovely as always! I think it would be nice for Evie to have a mirror above the dresser so she can do her makeup there.
Mervs apartment needs chair facing out his peeping window!
You can move everyone in without any landlord. Then you make him buy the lote and he’ll be their landlord
Beef curtains! I have never heard that before, but it's really a great term for it. It's in my vocabulary now.
For his dodgey apartment I think you the stained newspaper in the bathroom instead a bath mat
cobblebottom row is my absolute favourite build of all time. so clever
Mervin needs a lovely spot with some tissues and magazines 😳
I do have underwear on 😂 I love her flat! It fits her, I think she will love it too!
