    Hi there,
    I feel like we made our set up too complicated by getting a canon 77D and then subscribing to ecamm. We're also using a centrace USB mixer that has wired mics, and we've been noticing that that both live and on the recordings there's a slight delay between the lips and the voice... Any thoughts?
    Also, we're trying to figure this conundrum out, which is regarding the class recordings... the quality of the zoom recordings are not that great. Ecamm recordings are better. The issue is that when we play the music through "share audio" feature on zoom, it's not saving on ecamm recording, and when we play audio music through ecamm the people live on zoom can't hear it. Any thoughts? Should we get rid of the canon camera and just get a USB webcam and USB mic?
    Okay, one more question while I have your attention. I hope you don't mind.
    The setting should be "turn off original sound." YES? If yes, is there a way to change it in the zoom default settings because I noticed all our meetings are set to "turn on original sound," and I can't find the master button for this...
    Thank you for your time. Your videos have been so helpful!

    At 5:35 you said "you can record yourself along with a backing track". Can you say I little more? A bought that mic for a gift after your review and cant get that feature to work. Background music stops when you start recording. Thanks.

    Thanks! I almost find it hard to believe the quality of sound that came from that little mic during your comparison to the android mic. Amazing! I appreciate the comparison to the snowball as well. I use Windows 10 and apparently the blue snowball when used on a windows 10 machine produces a terrible static noise! For that reason I’m buying the mv5. Would you say the mv5 audio quality is better than the snowball? Or just different?

    Do you think it's worth the price? ($100dlls in my country) or i should get a blue yeti instead or maybe even some cheaper like the blue snowball

      Depends how you want to use it. Would be very good for live-streaming with the built in DSP. The other mics you mention, you could record with them and post process. You can hear unedited recordings of all three in action here soundcloud.com/musicrepo

      Gosh .... I think this one in speech mode is pretty good, can record at 24-bit, and is cheaper. Audition them both here, to see which one you think sounds best at full res, but on balance I think the MV5 is quite a good choice. And multi-platform out of the box

    I was considering buying this mic for recording unfinished songs I am working on on my iPhone. It came down to this or the Samson Meteor Mic. I chose the Samson because of price and on webinars that I do I use another Samson mic that I have had a good experience with. Back in the day I would use Realistic brand mics (think Radio Shack) and supposedly they were Shure mics rebranded. Regardless those Realistic mics performed well in gigs and home recording. Also the Meteor Mic doesn’t have all the bells and whistles as the Shure but it does what I need it to do. Good review and thanks.

      I’m using this mic for zoom. When i use the flat or instrumental mode, it will be quite soft for the other party even though i have turned the mic volume to 100% on the zoom mic settings. However there is no problem on the chat mode, normally I have the mic volume set to about 80% and people are able to hear clearly. Is there any other way to increase the gain on the mic itself? I think there are custom settings I can set from the motiv app. Not sure if that can be done. Thank you.

    • @MusicRepo
      @MusicRepo  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, there is no way of adjusting mic gain on the mic. You can adjust in the System Preferences -> Sound on a Mac, or in the Control Panel on Windows. If you are using the Motiv App, there are more custom settings, but generally they are to adjust compression and EQ rather than overall gain. So I guess stick with the vocal mode for Zoom ...

    Have you tried comparing the pickup from different distances away. I was wondering how well it would pickup a group for singing as well as on a small conference table. Being a cardiod pattern I would think it would work well but I haven't found any info on this.

    Can you please tell me how to enable sound in iPad device ( internal speakers) when shure mv5 is connected. I need to always remove the lightning cable from device to hear sound

    • @MusicRepo
      @MusicRepo  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can't do that I don't think ... if the Shure MV5 is connected you hear the sound through heaphones connected to the mic. I don't think there is a way on iPad to use separate devices for recording and playback. But I might be wrong.

    • @MusicRepo
      @MusicRepo  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, it is a very good mic for the money - if this is the max your budget would allow then it's a good contender. You can compare all the mics I've tested here, and listen to hi-res audio recorded with them, without any post production, so you can get an idea of how they stack up in a typical home environment.

    Can anybody pls tell me how to use this Shure Mv5 for sound input only? I use it for zoom meetings for better sound input quality, but don't need to use it for sound output. Is there a way I can keep my laptop built-in speaker working without wearing a headset to hear sound output when using this Shure Mv5? Thank you so much!

    • @MusicRepo
      @MusicRepo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, in Zoom just select your computer speakers as output, and the MV5 as mic. Zoom very clever at echo cancellation so this is not an issue. I almost always use different devices for sound in and out with Zoom. Just go to the audio settings
