So I def agree that you are very well entitled to being disappointed in the figure. The one thing I’m thinking about is I honestly don’t know if there is such a thing as a way to hold companies accountable for this kind of thing especially a massive corp like GSC who owns freeing, binding etc like if you like anime figures they are getting money from you. Thing too is that idk how much of the foreign market (ie outside of Asia) matters to these companies? I’d be interested to know how collectors in Asia reacted to her because sometimes from what I’ve seen from Japanese and Chinese collectors on social media, they either way more accepting of minor flaws or ruthless (HPOI commenters are built different lol) I also think that there is a point to which the prices are so high that expectations are never going to be met especially for a mass produced consumer good. I do find that sometimes in this hobby people fixate on flaws to the point of ridiculousness (I don’t think that’s the case here fwiw I agree that many issues combined makes for reasonable disappointment). With the nature of preordering i do think people do spin themselves into a frenzy when a figure is released trying to see if it’s ‘good’ or not and can often jump on poor quality pictures and fixate on them. Apologies for the ramble I just have been thinking about this a lot recently since I do think personally we are reaching a point in prices that realistically very particular/detail conscious collectors are going to always be disappointed because it’s mass produced. I think this lends to the argument against preorders too tbh. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on her and apologies again for my novel of a comment lol

It’s a shame that their QC is terrible… saying the illustrations and the scale size they have is in itself is very attractive. I was gonna hunt her down after release, cus she’s such a pretty girl. But I’m glad I’m having second thoughts, she’s way too expensive for the issues she has. I don’t mind minor paint nicks here and there (kinda like what Eruru maid bunny had) but her aftermarket prices are so much more reasonable ! It’s sad that FOMO is a thing . I learned my lesson with freeing quickly. Have the tiger Taiga. She's adorable but has too many defects. Never again! I'm glad you received a replacement. Hope Ami is telling freeing they need to step it up... doubtful, but hopefully they are...
I actually just got my first (and possibly only) 1/4 scale, the Eruru bunny maid? She is gorgeous and I think worth every penny. But I see a ton of 1/4 scales come out where I'm like "there's no shading and it looks terrible..." I just can't imagine paying that much and receiving some of them 🙃
I have some early Freeing figures and they are not super great with the paint jobs, from sloppy paint, gaps between limbs, and misshapened molds, it's not too surprising that their QC isn't up to par. Binding seems to be a little better, but quality still varies pretty wildly between individual figures.
I agree I think quality does vary wildly between individual figures with them! Thankfully my other FREEing figures are actually pretty nice so I probably got lucky up to this point? I’m going to be more cautious moving forward though 😔
i'm not really into 1/4th collecting and I actually don't own any freeing figures (which will change with the ten count bunnies this year) but I've seen a severe lack of shading and pretty boring/mediocre hair sculpts on a lot of reviews of their bstyle line so i'm lowkey not even surprised xD Tho I really gotta say, I'd be so pissed if I got THAT for 320 bucks, I mean sure, other scales are smaller but somewhere I think it's not neccessarily harder to make a bigger figure have a better sculpt? in fact, I'd even say it's easier to model since there's more room to work with, so the way they sculpted that hair really bothers me xD Her prototype looked really cute and vibrant so this is honestly a shame, considering the prices they're asking for FREEing really needs to step up their game, I've seen better 1/4 scale prize figures xD i feel like even the pop up parade XL is about as detailed as their figures xD while being a lot cheaper

As someone who has the first run of the ten count bunnies, they're not great quality, and definitely not worth the rerun price increase. My Kurose has really messy paint and scuffs, while Shirotani has some paint bumps and poor sculpting.
@@OkamiRissi Don't get me wrong, I still really love them! Shirotani in particular has some really nice shading and pearlescent paint details on his suit. But yeah I'm really not the biggest fan of freeing's QC, especially for the price they charge. I hope you like yours when they come in!

Using photoshop on a prototype is borderline false advertising. It really sucks that figure collecting is in it's blooming era in tearms of quantity, but the price and quality... companies are getting shameless! I don't think you were aggressive. This is just not acceptable, an expensive figure having so many issues!
Yeah I’m done with Freeing, their quality should be better for what they’re asking for. As for 1/4 I’m going with Native website and resin figures. Glad you were able to get a replacement. I couldn’t and had to order another Shion.
I don't think you were not picky at all. The point of 1/4 scales is that they're supposed to be high quality especially for that price. I have Rengoku's 1/4 FREEing figure bring shipped to me, and I'm praying the quality is good.
I LOVED her proto, I thought it was so pretty. But yeah the final product is really bad. Sucks that's how she ended up being, also your completely warranted to be picky
Freeing was never really great with quality imo. I‘m not a 1/4 collector so i can’t speak on their b-style line but their other scales are very mediocre in terms of quality, some even having horrible issues down the line. I personally think their public image improved once the b-style line started it’s big hype which lead to people overlooking their past reputation. In the end i‘m not surprised to hear that their b-style line figures seem to have quality issues as well.
Honestly a lot of the ones I have gotten this far are pretty nice but I did know they were never great with quality. I just never expected them to be THIS bad!
The quality Freeing delivers here is really bad and for the high prices we have arrived at nowadays, everything has to be right on point. As for the colours/saturation, unfortunately the colour in your video is not rendered correctly. When I put your video next to the MFC pictures, it has much stronger colours in the photos. Not as vibrant colours as advertised (but I've also noticed that with almost all of my figures). In the promo photos, the colour saturation is almost always turned up so that the photos look nicer. I don't like that at all. I've heard a lot recently that figure collecting is slowly changing from pre-ordering to seeing if it's worth buying the figure when it's released. Often the prices in the aftermarket are dropping these days.
I think my video is rendered fine, I actually color adjust the camera footage in the positives section display to what they are in real life to my naked eye! But the clips with the issues are not edited at all 🫣 also paper figures wash out next to me in cameras making them look more crazily pale I’ve noticed 😫 But I agree! I knew FREEing was known for not amazing quality and I think I’ve gotten lucky up to this point 👀 but I’ve cancelled a MAJORITY of my preorders just because I feel so scorned when I see preowned and I could paid so much less. When I began collecting the preorder price was the cheapest and that’s why you preordered but now it’s like why would I?
