The good thing about lifepo4 batteries is that you can actually use the entire rated capacity unlike lead acid batteries where you can only use half of the capacity before damaging the battery. So you'll get closer to 3 times the run time now. There is a shunt inside the controller that you can add on to or completely bypass to increase your uphill performance.
So do you not connect any wires to the circuit break? Other videos I've seen show connecting a - end from one battery and the + end from the other.
@@nodnarblac wire the batteries just like the original ones. You want the batteries hooked up in parallel so the voltage stays at 12 volts.
i have the same Razor for my kid but if the road is little bit steep the razor doesn’t pull.Do you think i need a new battery or is someone else.

Nice, I have a similar setup but with 3 of the 7ah dakota lithium batteries and a 500 watt motor and lithium charger, the charger doesn't always work though. I have a 1000 watt 36 volt controller, can get 21 mph but only lasts like 20-25 mins

Yeah it's a lot of fun, I do wish it had more range though because I get like 5.5 miles before it dies and going that fast it doesn't last as long, never thought of using the batteries like this, I may need to try this setup in the future
Hello.I have same model,so battery dead,but only thing I definately know is that it should be 24 volts (12+12) . Mine had 7.2 Amperage battery,so how big can I take to make it last longer ? Does electric engine have its limits ? THANKS
As many amps as you want as long as you keep it 24 volts.
How did you end up charging this? I have seen some 24v hoverround chargers on eBay with the same razor plug. Do you think they would work? They are only 2 amps. Or do you just charge the two batteries independently? I feel like taking the top off and having to switch the charger is a huge hassle especially with a seat installed.
Hello! I take them out and charge them separately using the charger supplied by Dakota Lithium.
Can you charge lifepo batteries with the old lead acid battery charger?

Depending on the terrain I can get about 20 to 25 mins of ride time.

i've done everything the same as you but when i try turn it on the light just flickers and won't actually turn on i think the switch might need replacing but i don't know for sure it worked fine before i tryed replacing the batteries the lead ones were just barely working tho and barely moved the scooter
Maybe a bad connection somewhere?
When I was having that same problem with the lead acid, it was because the batteries had too little charge, make sure you charge the batteries to full before you put them in if you haven't

If you want more range why not get 2 12v 35ah batteries make a box/basket attach it to the front above the wheel or have a box on the back like saddlebags for the batteries just run longer wire with quick connects it would be easier to charge

@@RickyVenturesHey Thanks for responding. It has worked for mine now I am wondering if the motor controller gets hot now Bc of longer range? Have you heard or had a problem with that? I just ordered 2 toggle switches, digital volt meter and a little 24 volt fan just in case. I chopped and lowered the handle bars on mine so I can use it with my wheelchair lol it works great

Nice Upgrade but you can get away with the more typical lithium-ion cells that come with hoverboards, reuse them by reassembling and charge them with a hobby li-ion charger balancer or you can use RYOBI tool 18v packs with a home-made adapter. Those Dakota lithium batteries are very expensive, does not make sense to use batteries that cost as much or more than the scooter itself.

Yeah but I recommend you add a actual speed controller so battery doesn't blow up. Stock aren't any good to over juice. Get the 7vto70v Rio rand controller
why cant i change them with the razor charger that came with my scooter it should all be wired the same way and the batteries i bought didnt come with a charger what do i use to charge them
If you use a regular charger in Lithium batteries. It will likely only charge the batteries to ~85%. You need a charger with the right voltage to charge Lithium batteries to 100%.

You won't get higher speed just longer ride time, but possibly not as lithium discharge may be a lower voltage (10V) to get the 10Ah rating, the controller will still kill power below 23V, your charger is no longer compatible anymore mind. Short the shunt with thicker gauge wire to get more torque for up hill, there is a video on TH-cam for that.
Yes. Thanks for the tips! I was going for distance not speed. I'm using the charger that goes with the batteries. I suppose at new controller might be my next change and I'm satisfied for now.

Heya! I have a question, my scooter is different than yours but same principle, is a SXT 1000W scooter that comes with Lead acid batteries, i bought one of those 100$ lithium batteries out of amazon, Chinese branding, now here's the thing, with the old acid battery i could get 14km (i cant tell you in miles sorry) in one charge, now with the new one i get max 4km only before it dies, here's the kicker, with the old one i could see how much charge i have before the battery died, now with the new one i can see all lights perfectly fine and suddenly as soon as i hit the 4km mark the scooter dies straight away, so i want to know if its just a problem with the battery or it could be the controller, because the old battery was 36v 12ah and the new one is supposed to be 48v 40ah, for which it makes no sense what so ever, if you have any clue lemme know, thank you very much!
Lithium batteries discharge differently than lead acid. So you get full power up until they just drop off. Putting 48 volts through at 32 volt system is likely going to burn up your controller or your motor in the long run. Also, it's not the volts that determine distance. It's the Amp hours. More Amp hours equals more run time. The more Amp hours you have the more gas you have in the tank. 😀
Well that makes a lot of sense, honestly i was thinking that the 36v controller was gonna only output that voltage regardless if the battery was a higher voltage, so basically what i have to do is to get a new controller that withstands the new battery right? Also another thing that i found out yesterday, i left the scooter charging while i was working and disconected it when i saw it full charge, after that 6hrs past and when i started riding thing just died 1.5km later, full throttle as per ussual, didn't did anything different at that moment, so seems to me that there's something stealing the energy from the battery maybe?
i just put these in my e300. the motor is super weak i can stop it with my hand. each battery is charged
Weird. How many volts are they putting out? Mine have been fine. I've gone on several long rides around the lake here in Minnesota. You can see those videos on my channel.

Could be lots of problems. Fist thing is to check the batteries with a volt meter and figure it out from there.
Put a gps speedometer app on your phone and put the phone in your pocket while you ride to tell how fast you are going. Razor is a popular brand but everything they make is slow compared to most scooters. Models that are for adults should go at least 20 mph with more range. Easier to just buy a faster brand instead of wasting money.
Yeah, it prob easier and cheaper to just by a new one. I had this one sitting around and decided to play around with it and see what I could make work. If I bought new, I would probably just get an ebike.

What are your thoughts on a VISET LI 24V 1000mah, E-bike battery, 15A BMS for 100W-500W. Amazon has them for $149… could it work for a Razor E300?
That should work. 24 volt is what is needed. 10Ah will be how much power you have.
