what’s the biggest AH battery that will fit inside of the battery bay? I’m replacing the original batteries out of mine and would really love if i could get more speed and distance.
@@d-boyzeighteenhundred The top speed or the cruise speed is about 13mph and I was full throttle most of the time and it lasted for what 38.5 minutes? Use the formula Distance = Speed x Time. 38.5 minutes is .642 hours. So, .642hr x 13mph = 8.35 miles. Edit add on : Don't delete your question after the answer is posted.
@@RCEscapeI came to ask the same charger question above. People do a lot of cautioning about using a stock charger because they say it works differently than the dedicated LiFeP04 type, but it seems like it would be a lot of extra work and expense!
@@jennifercanfly The stock charger charges up the lifepo4 batts to 27.2 volts and stops charging. The lifepo4 batts ideal voltage to charge is 28.8 volts. The stock charger charges at 27.9 so it is within the boundaries. So yes you can safely charge with the stock charger. The stock charger is also a simple charger with 24v output that charges at 27.9v and thus 13.95v per battery and the lifepo4 batts will need 14.4 - 14.6v per battery so it is recommended to unplug the charger or the charge cable as soon as it turns green from red since the power supply does not have a float charge feature of 13.5 - 13.8v.
pretty cool I replaced the batteries in mine with a few i found on old power wheels on the side of the road and got it running but yea only lasts about 20 minutes. This seems like it would be more ideal to actually make a full trip somewhere local. Do you know about how long it takes to charge to full usually? Its hard to tell with no volt meter.
@@Jorda5s It takes a while. I charge it with the original charger and it takes about I would say 3-4 hours. I’m guessing here since I didn’t actually time it.
I have a quick question for you. Did you have to charge the batteries when you receive them, or did you just went plug and play for those 39ish minutes?
Thanks for the video. I've been looking at LiFePo4 batteries for a while as an upgrade for my kids Razor mx350. Can you tell me what charger you use? Charging always seems like a hot topic. Some use the stock charger, others say you need a LiFePo4 specific charger. Thanks again!

Do you lose speed as time goes on? I bought a used razor pocket mod a few days ago and it already comes with 2 mightymax 9ah battery’s but after 10 minutes of riding it gets significantly slower. I don’t know if the battery’s are old or something is wrong.
If you watch the video towards the end when the battery suddenly dies, I was still going the same speed so I was confused as to what happened. Mighty max is good when it’s new but like all sla batts, it doesn’t last long and that’s why kids loose interest in riding these scooter mods and the parents let it collect dust and eventually sell them for cheap because they don’t know how to swap out the batteries. I have 5 scooter mods all of which I paid no more than $30each. Neglected and rusted but all it needed was a new battery. I got some mighty max to replace them but they are slowly depleting too. The lifepo4 is so much better. Longer rides. Longer life and it doesn’t cost that much more.

How have the batteries held up? And how has the charging process been with the stock charger? Or have you found a good 24v lifepo4 charger for it?
They are holding up great! I've been charging them with the stock charger.
@@RCEscapewhat is the range with the new batteries?

The mod seems to work well Pete.

What if you wire 3 instead of 2 on Amazon it says the batteries will be damaged
If you wire three batteries, it will be 36volts.

Thank you for the quick reply and for the great information. My batteries are probably just old and need replacing.
My stock battery harness appears to be glued onto the battery. Did you get a new harness?
You must cut as close to the glue as possible, and then attach female spade connectors. And then plug into the new batteries.
The battery harnesses may be a velcro strap

is recharge time faster than the lead batterys?
I think it is about the same.
Can you use the same charger?
Yes you can.
Nice mod Pete. Cool scooter to get around/ 🙏👍🙏👍🙏
Thanks Ray!! This old scooter still kicking! I kind of like it more than the ebikes. Easy to put it in the car and out and start to ride in seconds.
Could I run 15AH batteries?
Yes, you can use a 15ah battery as long as they are the same voltage batteries.
I bought some hoping to do that and they were too big. But I did find some compact 12Ah ones, so I'm going to give that a go
