Brings back lovely memories, my mother lived near Drewsteignton for a number of years, and my younger sister worked in a riding school very near Belstone. I’ve fond memories of wild swimming in the river pools there, followed by proper cream teas ~ nice to see you enjoy your dip 🌈 and you’re right, there’s something special about that area. BTW my mother had a rescue greyhound too
Spring sunshine wild swimming and glorious countryside perfect ingredients to revitalise the soul. The pair of you seem to have refound your jois de Vivre.May you go from strength to strength and I look forward to seeing more of you and your adventures!!
Lovely little video, sublime. I live in Cornwall and also enjoy a cold dip, so Belstone will definately be added to my list of places to go for a system reset. Miss Nancy reminds me of an ex racer that I used to have called Tina. She was one of a pair that I rescued, Ted and Tina....sounds like somebody's nan and grandad 😂
It's great to see MND looking better and I hope that hear health continues to improve. I also hope that you're leaving those couple of bad months behind you. With having to get the van stood up after winter, MND's health issues and difficulty getting her to do what you need her to in the van, it's been a trying time. Your morale seemed much improved today which was great to see 😊
Honestly it has not been a great few months and i can’t wait for things to get better! Dartmoor is a real tonic for me though and being out in nature is the thing that helps me feel better 😊
Lovely to see Miss Nancy again, she’s adorable and I love how you talk to her and treat her. I’m exactly the same with my eleven year old greyhound, Bramble. Strange seeing you in make up, so naturally beautiful anyway.

@BOTG_Adventures sadly not, Miss Nancy is too sick to do anything atm so we are just hanging at home, I’m trying to get a break for a walk or run everyday but it’s hard because I want to keep an eye on her also: I’d love to see the dales one day, I hope the wind died down a bit for you I don’t love high winds in the van 😂
These vids are so amazing, you and your greyhound are very beautiful but the way you shoot these vids is amazing, I havent been to Belstone for years and years, but from your shooting I felt like I had been there. The river looked wild and I remember the simy rocks in the river! Thanks for sharing this, and thanks for all the effort in making these videos x
Thank you! I actually had a low battery so I couldn’t film as much which made it a lot easier, i often end up with 30 mins of footage and have a massive job trying to edit it shorter!
Love your videos look forward to these all the time. Nice seeing miss Nancy enjoying herself n back feeling better n your such thing of beauty keep smashing it ❤
Glad Miss Nancy is seeming better. If a dog is still eating, it's usually a good sign. Your videos are often full of one of my favourite plants - Gorse bushes. Pretty much impenetrable to us but a great home for lots of birds and other small animals. The yellow flowers are such a nice contrast too and when they go to seed, if you're somewhere quiet and you listen carefully, you can hear the seed pods crackling as they open constantly throughout the day. 😁
@@missnancysdayoffYou'll have to wait until they're ready but you can tell it's time when the flowers are brown and dry which is a couple of times a year. If you're into a little foraging the petals also taste like coconut and you can brew a handful of them into a hot tea. 🙂
@theKNI I’d like to get into foraging! Do the flowers bloom several times a year then? Gorse always seems to be flowering when I’m out almost all year round
@@missnancysdayoffYep they can bloom several times a year, even in winter. Peak time is about April to May. Collins Gem do a few "pocket sized" books about foraging, birds, insects, animals etc. The foraging one is called "Food for Free" and will set you back about £6 if you're interested.
Good to see miss Nancy without her cone of shame! Good your heading down here to Cornwall again. Suggestion: try a trip to Polly Joke beach at low tide ( park in the National trust car park near the camp site at the bottom of the valley, not the expensive one at the top)
Hi Tori, you look lifted this week and glowing and happy, yay! Good to see that Nancy character back on her feet and out adventuring, the ground looked a little squish-tastic! Have to visit that bar some time, and I assume that’s your new house called “The Tors”! Hope you have been good this week 🙏❤️
Cool vibe and day out what a beautiful place❤ definitely given me the inspiration to pack my van and go on an adventure sunday after a hard week in work I need to de-stress great to see you guys on a high👍🏴👌
The ground was really strange i should have tried to film it 🤣 the outside bar looked so cool and outstanding views across the valley. If only that were my new house ! 🙏❤️
@@missnancysdayoff ooooh, that’s spooky, I was just thinking about you, wondering how you were doing, hope you’re ok. I remember the ground being almost like a springboard one time I was there many moons ago, very strange indeed! Definitely need to pay that bar a visit, can picture sitting there and the views of the valley becoming slowly more blurred! 🤣 I think we need to start a campaign to get them to gift you that place, it’s literally got your name all over it! 🙏❤️
I've swam in that pool with my daughter many times when I took her on holiday there , summer only we're not hardcore . It's lovely on Belstone common .
Belstone is such a special spot..bit gutted you put it up on here as it's the sort of place your better of discovering yourself..wish I'd bumped into you up there 😻 Got plenty of space for your van if your up this way again..I'm 40 mins from Belstone near Sheepwash
Part of me feel guilty sharing any of these places, but also I don’t think most people watching are going to jump in their car are drive there and it’s all easily found on the tourism websites so hopefully it’s ok! Awesome thank you! Sheep wash is a great name i’m looking that up 😂
@missnancysdayoff I love your posts as you embrace the beauty of where ever you go and you get involved, excited and give off great vibes.. unlike a lot of other vlogera who just turn up post loads of info and pictures about the place....send a drone up and don't really even appreciate where they are 😆 Sheep Wash is pretty I'm actually just outside Shebbear not much around apart from farm's and fields :) I hope Nancy is doing well 🙏
Love love love this! I’m quite affected by your channel; the videos coincide with how I’m feeling, and inspire me to act, as the opportunity for me to spend the summer season working in Orkney has come up and in true cheapskate style, I’m converting my wee saxo VTS into a camper! (Skoda yeti video) I made a friend or two there back in my van life days and what you said about how peaceful you feel in Dartmoor is the same for me with Orkney. Outstanding 😍x
Oh wow, i just looked up Orkney i know id love it there, good for you what will you be doing there in the summer? I’m so glad you like our videos, life’s for living right even though we have to force ourselves sometimes. You’re going to have an amazing summer i am sure! 😍 Saxon camper for the win!
@missnancysdayoff ah nice yea cool and yea newquay alright got some good beaches to be fair fistral beach main one where they have boardmasters then you got little fistral also Crantock at the ganel is nice one tolcarne and Porth bit further out area water gate bay Padstow as well got some good coastal paths.
I won't bother asking for a water temperature stat as whatever it was, it would have been way too cold for me. Well done! River swimming can be wonderful in a moderate flow. I went into a shallow white(ish) water in Quetico Park in Ontario with fins and mask. Being swept over the rocks maybe 3 feet below was like flying. Also, there were deep pools off to the side where you could dive down among the large fish circling there. Once near the bottom you could look up and see the river rushing by above. Fabulous perspective. Don't be afraid to see how the world looks from underneath the water.
That sounds amazing, i think i need to go with someone else to be confident enough for that, when the current took me down the river it was super fun but when i tried to swim back up and realised how strong the flow was i did have a moment of concern! 🙈 that’s a great idea for filming i must remember a waterproof case next time 🙏
@@missnancysdayoffI don't know if there are any rivers big enough and with extended mild rapids to support this kind of experience in the UK. Rivers are tricky because there can be underwater entanglements and, as you experienced, you can't really swim back up against a strong current. The US and parts of Europe have some places where you can float blissfully down stream. Great on the right day. Doing it in the wild can present unexpected problems. I was scouting a river in BC which looked really promising for a river snorkel with my young nephews. Halfway across a field on the way there I found myself in the company of annoyed rattlesnakes. Outing cancelled. I might not have even considered it had the relatives shared with me in a timely fashion that the mountain the river skirted was known locally as "Rattlesnake Mountain". Miss Nancy would need a really benign current and a padded rubber raft and I can't suggest where these deluxe facilities might exist.
I'd certainly like to add my get well wishes to Miss Nancy. Miss Nancy is demonstrating her desire to be vegan with eating a bit of sheep's poo 🤭 and who knows maybe that will add some healthy gut flora. I'm sure you know already lots about the power and importance of the gut microbiome. It's amazing isn't it? You did find a lovely little hamlet and such an amazing pool to swim in. Hats off to you it's very brave, as I watched the video I was thinking how the current must have been really strong because of the way you were moving in the water. Only the other day I was talking with a group of wild swimmers and they were extoling the benefits of it and I was agreeing but at the moment I'm all words and no action. 😆 You seem to be doing all the right things to keep strong mentally through a very difficult period of time. So I think you will inspire a lot of people including myself through the things you get up to with Miss Nancy in your videos. You demonstrate how accessible it is to do activities which are proven to be beneficial to our mental health and in these times that's needed more than ever. So kudos to you Tori! 🙏
🙏 is that what she is doing, I shouldn’t have stopped her! Sadly she has taken so many antibiotics in the past couple of months I don’t think her gut can have anything good left in it. I am giving her robotics but who knows how much that is helping 😖 I was wondering if anyone would notice the look on my face in the video, because when I started doing the front crawl I was actually concerned and so glad to get back on the rock I looked up at the camera and I had a pretty strange look on my face 🤣 I do think they are right! I need to do it more often though, it has been making me feel super good when I go in, but still part of my brain says why would you want to swim today its cold and wet in there! Strange thing the human brain 🧠 Thank you, to be honesty I have been finding it vey hard just trying not to fall apart, you’ve really only soon my good moments here. Keeping on doing the right things to be mentally strong is so hard, but I am trying and for me it’s being outside, it’s tough because I’ve hardly been getting time outdoors past couple weeks but trying to take advantage when I can and it immediately makes me feel stronger! 🙏
@@missnancysdayoff I wonder if they make probiotics for dogs? Also I wonder if there is a way of replacing the gut flora in dogs after a course of antibiotics. In humans of course we would take some kind of probiotic or eat fermented foods. Just wondering if that would work for dogs too? 🤔 Does miss Nancy have trouble keeping food down or with diarrhea? You still looked very poised in the video so I don't think many would have noticed. Perhaps the videos and your outings are a useful distraction. Sometimes distractions are a good way for us to cope with difficult feelings and situations. Something you might find helpful, it certainly was for me are some online courses which are put together by the Pentreath Recovery College Cornwall. The courses are live presentations with a booklet so you can interact if you wish. It's not therapy, and does not try to be. It's more to do with teaching the skills necessary to become more resilient to stress and coping with stress when it's there. The courses are free and they are conducted over Teams or Zoom. You can refer your self through their website. I know the tutor Sarah who is a super nice person, she presents a lot of the courses. Most importantly she totally loves dogs. And amusingly one or more ends up featuring in her presentations. Take a look if you think that's something you would be interested in.
@Melatiah they do, she is taking two kinds right now! Her stomach is still unhappy large squishy 💩 don’t know if it’s the medication she is taking, the antibiotics, something else. Those courses sounds good I will look it up thank you! I’ve only really been able to film moments where things were a bit better and sadly they have gone downhill since that video. Just trying to do the best I can atm 🙃
@@missnancysdayoff I'm sorry to hear that. I've asked a friend to find out what she used when her dog got a tummy upset. Her dog had terrible diarrhea but after adding this medication to his food it worked immediately. So watch this space I'll let you know as soon as I'm told. I know Miss Nancy is definitely in good hands and that ' trying to do the best I can ' is an exceptional level of care. From the videos you can see that you love her with your whole being which is beautiful to see. Keep strong and I think everybody here has as their fingers crossed and even toes. Hugs 🤗
Thank you any advice is greatly appreciated, we’ve now been referred to a specialist dermatologist and I’m waiting to hear from them watching poor Nancy get worse it’s awful 😖❤️
Well what's not to love about an ancient stone circle? Them Pagans knew what it was all about! Plus - I can't rule out having seen a small magical creature flit by around 1 minute 30? 😮
Ms. Victoria ,once again you made all of wait way too long to see you again! Prettiest location yet. Strange question: Who's river is it ? Does the surrounding land belong to someone? Did you steal the swim. Thank you . Great as usual. Dru off stay warm eat well. Goodnight . Tom the Yank
🙏 so glad. Well land ownership in UK is pretty complex (to me anyway) most of it is owned by someone, but a lot of Dartmoor I think is common land that anyone can access. Sadly most rivers are apparently owned by someone (how can you own flowing water?!) but i think it was ok here. Maybe someone else can answer this question better! ❤️
Always wish you Ms. Victoria and Miss Nancy the very best health and happiness. Just to let you know you're in my thoughts. Tom (the Yank)@@missnancysdayoff
hehe ...Tors! 😃 Fantastic swim, lovely locations 😊 Miss Nancy's looking chipper! @muddy_bootlaces is a Dartmoor expert ...and ace Korean cook People die on Dartmoor, when they get lost and wet and cold, so don't take it lightly 😏
🤣 is that by i like Dartmoor it’s all named after me! 🙏 just looked up muddy bootlaces thanks. Yeah I think i do need to consider that a bit more but this seemed pretty safe, though it think perhaps it takes getting in trouble to truly realise how quickly things can turn bad?🤔
I think you’re just checking the weather in Devon just in case it’s sunny compared to Cornwall, you did say you was getting a black bikini because the yellow one does tend to show how cold it is at times = just my humour at play but you’re getting used to me by now, the place reminds me of a film = far from the madding crowd = the original one with Julie Christie is better, you thought I forgot the song oh you, song = Yellow = Coldplay .
@@missnancysdayoff just trying to connect the colour of the bikini with a song , just the way my brain works , does playing music make you emotional or was it just the colour yellow = that was obviously a bad joke = if it brought a smile to your face = then not so bad , take care you = me.
@kavanobrien6547 🤣 your so funny, playing music sure can be emotional especially if you’re feeling sad! It’s a great song though their first album i like it 😊

Don’t you just wished Dr Dolittle were real? Or that AI could be used to communicate with our dogs. An easier way to get our sick pooches back on their feet. Glad Nancy is getting better. That looks a Great spot for a wild swim. Try buying a pair of SealSkinz waterproof socks. They work amazingly well. My boy won’t go in water if it’s cold and even when it’s hot he won’t risk anything deeper than his wrists. Mine loves horse 💩. Have a great weekend.
If only, not being able to talk to Them is the worst in these times of illness. Your boys sounds a lot like MIss Nancy she generally thinks the ankles is quite enough! She’s certainly not above a large mouthful of horse 💩 on the trot 🙈
Hi Tori, I'm very concerned about Miss Nancy. Take a break from TH-cam if you need to. I know you will look after Miss Nancy, but dont forget to look after yourself too. Sending you something to help.
Thank you so much, she is really unwell now and I am waiting to hear back from an urgent referral to a specialist so that will go straight towards her treatment 🙏 really appreciate your support.
Fingers crossed they can identify and treat it. It's on my mind a lot recently. I hope you're coping OK and have a support network to help you. Big ❤ from both me and Ribble.
Cynical old me thought it was amusing that you jumped over a puddle yet happily immersed yourself in freezing cold water and a lot of your voice was muffled and inaudible. I'm just saying that's all.
2 HC'S in quick succession, don't tell me you're falling for my cheesy old charms? On this drab soul destroying Monday morning. Have you ever heard 'Daisy give me your answer do?' I could equate my own financial situation with the song lyrics. It's bound to be on YT.💙💜💙

Thank you! 😊
Great to see Nancy out and about.
Dartmoor looks great, not been there yet .
It is definitely worth a visit, in fact a stay! I’ve only touched the surface so much to explore ❤️
Thank you I really appreciate that! Very slimy rocks 🤣 x
awesome video, you packed it all into 15 mins...glad miss nancy is on the mend
Thank you! I actually had a low battery so I couldn’t film as much which made it a lot easier, i often end up with 30 mins of footage and have a massive job trying to edit it shorter!
Love your videos look forward to these all the time. Nice seeing miss Nancy enjoying herself n back feeling better n your such thing of beauty keep smashing it ❤
😊 thank you!
Looks nice there, spring is in the air looking forward to some warmer weather, have a good weekend. 😊
Spring definitely arriving, hope you had A good weekend 😊

@terencedavies1643 I hope you have some good weather then to enjoy it! 😀
@@missnancysdayoff it's not looking good but fingers crossed I'm based in Yorkshire btw 🙂
Stunning ❤️
Dartmoor looks amazing, I'd love to go but its quite far away for me. I'm next to The Peak district though which is similar.
I haven’t been to the Peak District but it looks beautiful 😍
@@missnancysdayoff Its like a smaller Dartmoor. I think there are more rock formations. Happy to show you around if you are ever up this way.
Great vid as usual, looked very peaceful and scenic, be careful on your swims when alone though, take care👍
Thank you, I am going to try a bit harder to be careful as well 🤣
I've just walked the dog in a cold wind, I can't imagine taking a cold plunge in water😂, your brave.
🤣 i think the wind is the worst !
Hi there. Greetings fron South Birmingham
Hello there!
🙏 that is amazing i will try and listen for gorse pods next time!
@theKNI what a great plant. thanks! 😊
Another fab video 👍
This is such a beautiful video ❤❤❤
🙏❤️
Good to see miss Nancy without her cone of shame! Good your heading down here to Cornwall again. Suggestion: try a trip to Polly Joke beach at low tide ( park in the National trust car park near the camp site at the bottom of the valley, not the expensive one at the top)
I know luckily she doesn’t have to wear it while out but sadly it’s on again now. Thank you for the suggestion i will try Polly Joke 😊❤️
So beautiful, I hope you had an awesome adventure in the van! 😊❤️
@@missnancysdayoff hey yes I was metal detecting a Welsh Very misty mountain beautiful scenery good to be alive😉❤️
Brilliant, I thought how lovely it would be in slightly warmer weather sitting by the pool, I bet its still cold in summer though!
Higher picture quality enabled....😊
Greetings from Devon.
Greetings Devon 😊
Belstone is such a special spot..bit gutted you put it up on here as it's the sort of place your better of discovering yourself..wish I'd bumped into you up there 😻
Got plenty of space for your van if your up this way again..I'm 40 mins from Belstone near Sheepwash
Part of me feel guilty sharing any of these places, but also I don’t think most people watching are going to jump in their car are drive there and it’s all easily found on the tourism websites so hopefully it’s ok! Awesome thank you! Sheep wash is a great name i’m looking that up 😂
@missnancysdayoff I love your posts as you embrace the beauty of where ever you go and you get involved, excited and give off great vibes.. unlike a lot of other vlogera who just turn up post loads of info and pictures about the place....send a drone up and don't really even appreciate where they are 😆
Sheep Wash is pretty I'm actually just outside Shebbear not much around apart from farm's and fields :)
I hope Nancy is doing well 🙏
@markpearce1437 🙏 thank you! Being surrounded by fields sounds ratty good to me just looked it up near the sea too!
Is that Bellstone the same as the one in the book about a fox?
Love ya. Wolfie.
You’ve lost me there!!
@@missnancysdayoff Tis okay. It goes back to my schooldays in Dorset where we read "The Belstone Fox". Think that's the case anyhoo! Stay safe Tori.

Seen few of your shorts there awsome as i live in cornwall just outside newquay ❤ the dog is she a ex race dog noticed muscles on back legs

Sensible dog Nancy Drew❤️
Blimey, that must have been cold 🥶
So, from Mermaid to River Nymph, now? I must make some time to stop by Dartmoor. Glad the dog is better.
🤣 yep either or! The river was really fun. Dartmoor is well worth a stop, and thank you 😊
It looks very simular to east proctor on American werewolf in london movie beautiful landscape and architecture
I need to watch that film several people have mentioned it now! 😊
You seem to be doing all the right things to keep strong mentally through a very difficult period of time.
I am giving her robotics but who knows how much that is helping 😖
I was wondering if anyone would notice the look on my face in the video, because when I started doing the front crawl I was actually concerned and so glad to get back on the rock I looked up at the camera and I had a pretty strange look on my face 🤣 I do think they are right! I need to do it more often though, it has been making me feel super good when I go in, but still part of my brain says why would you want to swim today its cold and wet in there! Strange thing the human brain 🧠
Thank you, to be honesty I have been finding it vey hard just trying not to fall apart, you’ve really only soon my good moments here.

I think we walked past the water works to get onto the moor? You live there how lovely I’d move there any day

Good Afternoon Victoria, I forgot to ask how Miss Nancy like the little car?@@missnancysdayoff
