Use some rings as spacers with the quick release. You notice it will be to tight. Make it loose just a little bit and when the quick release is set its butter smooth. Best for long life.

This really improves the longevity of the bike! Maintenance is key for this, I've been doing this for quite some time, and my old 26 bike was based upon this cup and cone style, very easy to maintain, in my opinion the only highly important step is when you adjust the radial gap/tolerance of the bearings on the cup and cone.
Nice job, but I one question, that really pickled me, and it is not the first time I see people do it and don't know why or what they are using, let me get to the point. What solvent are you using? For the looks of it, it appears to be alcohol because it struggles hard to dilute the old grease, alcohol is good to dissolve polar base materials and that's why you have to work twice as hard to clean the parts (ball bearings and other parts) and thus struggle to dissolve the grease when cleaning it @ 3:49.
I would advise you to use a proper thinner such as cellulose thinner, it cleans everything very nicely and the solvent works for you.
Try it, and give some feedback afterwards.
Cheers!

Real nice video . nice work like the close up shots also.. Been working on some road wheels last couple days thumbs are sore now haha .. I have several wheel sets mostly 700c road and cx stuff. Wheels can be fun but lots of time involved i build all my own bikes enjoy it and this is also the only way you get exactly what you want. Frame. Components . wheels. Crankset etc the tools are not to expensive if you just buy them little by little guys.

Except by using a magnet to grab the bearings, you've magnetized the balls making them little metal particle magnets.
Skip the magnets, folks!
those fine particles will be there anyway. I don't see what the big deal is.
What kind of grease is used in this video?
shimano

It’s true but the average person would spend too much on tools and may fail. Take it to a shop.
