I wanted to get permission to detect over here as my uncles and unties have some old property. But it’s tricky with the Greek government but not impossible. Plus my fiancée would kill me if I spent our holiday detecting 🤣🤣
Nice spot with chunkier pieces, and the relics site looks unaffected by the Wally wombat leaving holes. Happy trails to Hellas, although you might still want to visually detect, with the fiancé, your family sites for relics and ephemera, that you'd be interested would give added pride and other sentiments for your relatives over there - an example, when our family went visiting Croatia, they found an old portrait photo of our grandma with her parents, and had it been left in the old, unused house, it'd have fallen and rotted away by now. It was rare to have a photo taken at all in the village 90 years ago, now us ancestors have it to share and show. Mind, I'd love to take over my metal detector and look for Roman gold and silver, we had two of the last emperors, Valentian and Valens, a few towns across. One of their daughters sent a ring to some dude in Greece, as a peace gesture, and started a war. I forget which famous whatnot but you and I have a few weeks to try remember! Yassas!
Lately I’ve seen heaps of holes left open & not backfilled, mostly in the Creswick area, also mullock heaps totally flattened out. Plus rubbish dumped in the bush & broken glass 😢. Not cool.
Too many dick heads think it's ok to leave the bush in a mess, they will get it all locked up for everyone, there was an army of gold monster users levelling wild dog diggings a few years back, not good
Great vid. Enjoy your trip. A report on the Greek detecting scene would be awesome.
