Problem with inline skating in SA in general that you can only do it in designated areas, you are limited to a beach front and you guys are fortunate to live in CT where you have way better infrastructure for skating. In Durban, where I skate, I am limited to Stadium area and nice long stretch along the beach from Ushaka to Blue Lagoon, but the surface, eish... is much to be desired... You get on the street level, you'll get run down by Taxis, Police or mindless drivers. We got so much to learn from European sk8 scene
I grew up skating in CT..once we played a roller hockey tournament in Durbs (In some military museum, near North beach I think?) skated the promenade a few times ..was awesome..but hey that was what 96? :D
can someone tell me what wheel hardness Chris van der Merwe at 1:00 has? i already have 80mm wheel skates, and the wheels i have now are 82A. they have too much grip. so can someone please tell me? thanks.
I believe that all Rollerblade Hydrogen wheels are 85A. (Not sure tho, I might be wrong, but I've never seen them with other hardness than 85A) Also 85A is probably the most common wheel hardness used for freeskating.
What's a good beginner inline roller skate someone could recommend me . Mainly used to skate through the city for fun . No grinding . Budget is $450 Aus.
question... I have 100 mm wheels, and I don't feel like I am going fast enough, could it be the bearings, the type of floor or just me who is not doing it right?
+ILoveThe305 100mm wheels are BIG wheels, if you're not going fast enough it probably is because you have to practice more your technique... a good technique is everything :)
I don't why they don't make all free skates grindable, all you have to do is put a small gap between the wheels and make the soles slightly flatter, then you have way more diversity of tricks you can do, it's like trying to use a road bike as a mountain bike, you might as well have the mountain bike
It's kind of funny, they always say at the beginning text, "Wear protective gear" and stuff like that, when THEY are the ones who don't wear protective gear.
+mark rindel haar He explains in the video man, it's about cruising around and having fun. Aggressive is very restrictive in where you can do it and the gear you near. Urban/Freeskate/Powerblading is gaining popularity because you can do it nearly anywhere and on the fly. Personally I like my powerblades because I cruise on them but also chuck in some soul grinds and if I'm at a park I can still do pipe work.
mark rindel haar What I said still stands, Powerblading is still way cruisier have you used aggressive blades before? And the locations are still important. The fact is more people live in suburbs without the variety of edges and rails cities provide. I have yet to meet real world aggressive skaters that are willing to exhaust themselves skating around my local city, the weather is hotter here.

+mark rindel haar you can actually do a lot of the grinds aggressives do with powerblades, but they require more skill to be able to grind on wheels.

Aggressive is better
