I think I can have a say on this to some extent as an ethnically jewish (under secular ethnic definition) christian.
You are technically correct. HOWEVER there is a reason for this hostility, which I will say I have experienced when trying to reconnect with my heritage as an ethnic jew who is religiously a christian (a JW to be exact), what happens is that some jews have grown protective and wary of christians largely due to the stupid antisemitism of the early orthodox and catholic churches (I don't mean to offend anyone, it's just the truth) who didn't even read or consider Hebrews 12:14, plus it's stupid to be hostile towards the people from where your messiah came from.
In conclusion you are right but it doesn't compare in the slightest with the things some "christians" have done to the jewish people, rather (and again i'm not trying to offend anyone) I believe it is up to people like me to spread knowlage that those antisemites were not actual christians but people who claimed to follow Jesus while they were actually full of hate and technically haters of Jesus' teachings.
As a side note my jewish heritage comes from endogamous mexican conversos from Nuevo Leon, so my ancestors did suffer greatly under the inquisition and it's a scar that hurts to this day

i’m a jew and i’d also like to mention how historically (100s of years ago not anymore though) we did do some “inbreeding” by only having kids with fellow jews and there was a small jewish population. this also happened in royal families to a lesser extent (they did it with one family we did it with one race lol) in many royal family portraits from 100s of years ago u see a long hooked nose and pointy chins, so a theory could be that past jews actually had a SLIGHTLY more curved nose from only marrying their own race.

I wouldn’t go as far as to say inbreeding per se, definitely not first cousins and I even doubt second cousins. But yeah, when certain features are presented mostly in one group of people and those people tend to have children within the group, the features will spread. Good on you for pointing that out! To be fair, children's media makes for the best propaganda precisely because it's less scrutinized and more likely to be disseminated.
Have you ever critiqued a cartoon and been told, "It's just a silly kids' movie, stop overthinking it"?
And how many people do you know who grew up watching classics like The Godfather vs. animated films from Disney? I only watched maybe one or two live-action films from the 1940s as a kid, but I watched a lot of Disney, Looney Tunes, Tom & Jerry, Popeye, etc. from that time period. I wouldn't call those propaganda, per se, but they were products of their time and it shows. You couldn't make a kids' cartoon about a male skunk violating the bodily autonomy of a female character today, for example.
And when you critique these stories, you get a lot of parents who angrily defend them because they grew up with those stories as kids and they think you're passing judgment on them.

"The Beni Israel of India and the Lost Tribes of Israel" is a book written by Benjamin Salzedo in 1921. The book discusses the author's belief that the Bene Israel, a Jewish community from India, were descended from the lost tribe of Israel. Salzedo also claims to have discovered a Jewish community in the West African kingdom of Dahomey (now known as Benin), which he believed was also descended from the lost tribe of Dan.
Salzedo's book received some attention at the time of its publication, but its claims were largely discredited by scholars and experts in the field. Today, the idea that the Bene Israel or any other community are descended from the lost tribes of Israel is generally regarded as a myth or a matter of religious belief rather than a historical fact.
The Bene Israel community themselves have a tradition that they are descended from Jews who fled from persecution in Galilee in the 2nd century BCE and arrived on the western coast of India, where they were welcomed by the local Hindu community. The Bene Israel maintained their Jewish identity and religious practices over the centuries, but there is no historical evidence to support the idea that they are descended from a lost tribe of Israel.

    • @ed.z.
      @ed.z. ปีที่แล้ว

The vast evidence of Jews of Ethiopia is clear. The State of Israel waged a rescue mission that saved many and brought them to Israel. I’ve seen a couple of documentaries about the investigation of the topic by testing the theory on location. Wasn’t the Queen of Sheba an actual historical person?
Whether the evidence regarding India had “been discredited” doesn’t convince me, just as in 2023 , the Big Bang Theory, the data from James Web Telescope, and the evidence of the shape of the Earth, all are denigrated by groups who are working hard to “discredit” these credible theories. This very morning I heard a MAGA moron, on AM radio, attempted to discredit the legitimacy and validity of the last presidential election.
And later this evening, a former president, in a Town Hall telecast, will attempt to “discredit” the entire responsible free press, (the only industry protected by the US Constitution in the First Amendment).
In any case a simple DNA test can often prove that the world’s Jewish population may be bigger, genetically, than imagined, but virulent, violent antisemitism may make folks a bit timid to discuss the subject.
According to census data only 2% of the United States is of Jewish descent. Yet, ignorant hate groups claim they control the world. And 30% percent of the US ignorantly, unwittingly, support the fascist MAGA movement and are seditious violent traitors to “discredit” The United States. Go figure.

I consider myself Christian, so I am always amazed when people who claim to be Christian, do not love the Jews. The entire Bible is comprised of Jewish history and all the apostles in the New Testament are Jewish! Indeed, even the New Testament prophecies about heaven talk about the "New Jerusalem." Jerusalem is a city in Israel! It is interesting the religious hypocrisy in the Christian church, but I just want to point out that not all Christians fit that mold. There is a reason why stereotypes exist - it is because people have noticed a pattern - I have a "hooked" nose but I've never called it that - it is my Jewish nose. Growing up I hated it but now I wouldn't have it any other way - it is a part of my identity. Maybe scientifically (which is often up to interpretation) Jewish people don't have more large or hooked noses but when they do - they REALLY do. Everywhere I travel, I find family and sure enough - with the same nose. Within the Jewish community, we know it is true. It is not antisemitic to say it is true - it is when the caricature is mean-looking and is an evil, scary person - that's the problem - when it is used to demean or suggest that someone with a certain nose is evil. That's the problem. It is like saying that a common (not always) characteristic of a person with African roots has big lips - so what? it is true and that doesn't mean that because of it they are evil or any other bad characteristic. But it is living in denial to say that it is not true - If you have red hair and freckles, chances are you have Irish or Scottish heritage. So what!

Jews are not a race. Not a nationality. Jews are of every different race. We live in almost every country. We have culture and values and almost anyone can convert to Judaism. Only 2-3% of America is Jewish but the ignorant haters continue to promote absurd lies.

    Dahomey Jews:
The Dahomey Jews, also known as the Bnai Israel of Dahomey, were a small community of Jewish people who lived in what is now the country of Benin in West Africa.
The exact origins of the Dahomey Jews are unclear, but it is believed that they may have been descended from Sephardic Jewish traders who arrived in the area in the 17th century. The community may also have included converts to Judaism.
The Dahomey Jews were known for practicing a unique form of Judaism that blended Jewish traditions with local African customs. For example, they incorporated elements of vodun (a West African religion) into their observances, and some members of the community also practiced polygamy.
The community thrived in the 19th century under the protection of King Gezo of Dahomey, who allowed them to practice their religion freely and even granted them their own land. However, the community began to decline in the early 20th century as members emigrated to other parts of Africa and to Israel.
Today, there are believed to be only a few remaining descendants of the Dahomey Jews in Benin, and the community is considered to be extinct. However, efforts have been made to preserve their history and culture, including through the publication of a book titled "The Last Jews of Dahomey" by historian Robin Cohen.
The physical appearance of the Dahomey Jews, also known as the Toe or Gbe Jews, is not well documented, and there is limited information available about their physical characteristics.
The Dahomey Jews were a small community of Jews who lived in what is now modern-day Benin, in West Africa. Some scholars suggest that they may have been descendants of Jews who migrated from North Africa or the Middle East, while others suggest that they may have been indigenous to the region. It is also possible that they were a mix of different ethnic groups.
There are some descriptions of the Dahomey Jews from historical records, which suggest that they may have shared some physical characteristics with other West African ethnic groups. For example, some reports describe them as having dark skin and tightly coiled hair, which are common physical traits of many West Africans.
However, it is important to note that physical appearance is a complex and multifaceted aspect of human identity, and that there is a great deal of genetic diversity within and between different ethnic groups. Therefore, it is not accurate to make assumptions about the appearance of an entire group of people based on limited information or historical records.
