Thanks for a wonderful video! I like that you've included a section on what can go wrong. So many "watch an expert" type videos only show the perfectly executed examples. Even better, you could describe how to recover from having done it wrong. I very much appreciate your efforts.
Keith, Yes, although if the anvil is in good condition and your shoulder is in the right place it may not be necessary. Once you assemble the parts, the heated bosses seem to "self-level" as you work them. Good question!
Keep making videos please Mark, they are the most informative on TH-cam. Thankyou.
Thank you. Glad you like them!
I agree love watching them! Have just finished my forge and am about to start working through your books. Thank you for sharing Mark.
Best blacksmithing teacher out there, if you ask me. Thanks for these wonderful videos (and your incredioble books), Mark
I only wish Mark shipped his books to Australia, He is the best Blacksmith and most informative teacher . 👍🤠
Try Plough Books in Victoria - they carry the books or AnYang Power hammers - they also carry the books.
@@MarkAspery Thank you I will get Strat on to it . Cheers . 👍🤠

Can't wait to try this, I have been needing a pair of scrolling tongs. Excellent video, great information! Thankyou for providing these videos Mark!
This video was very didactic and every detail makes a difference for the proper functioning of this tool. Thank you very much!
Thanks Mark - great tutorial without the hype
That was more informative than watching a forging demo, thank you
Your instruction is greatly appreciated.
Mark you did a great job with this one. I'm enjoying your books as well.
Really appreciate these abana curriculum videos
Great videos keep them coming please, they help me out immensely
Great step by step, thanks.

This is wonderful
Excelente esplicacion maestro !!!
Very good. Love the explanations.
I love your videos man
Glad you forgot to disable comments ;-) lol
Is it worth the time or effort to chase the finished bosses with a hot rasp or flatter to make the 2 surfaces as flat as possible before riveting?
Keith, Yes, although if the anvil is in good condition and your shoulder is in the right place it may not be necessary. Once you assemble the parts, the heated bosses seem to "self-level" as you work them. Good question!
Very informative video what did you mean cycling the hammer?
Colin, normally the hammer falls in a straight line up and down - I'm attempting to move the hammer in a circle as I go up and down.
If you are using a rivet header was it diameter x 1.7 or am i wrong?
I'd go anywhere from x 1.5 to 2. So long as the rivet holds up, I don't think that it matters.
Nice video agin man
Pictures are OK but video of the actual work is 1000x better
