I used to go to school and play football with this guy. Always destined for good things, plays the guitar like an absolute messiah. The crowds response is ridiculous, such an amazing talent not being fully recognised. You get people idolising 'musicians' that can't actually sing when Ben puts his heart and soul into to his music and is 1000x more talented than people like them. Keep up the good work mate, you are amazing at what you do, I hope you live the dream, you deserve it. Love this rendition of Jimi's classic too, this is what real music is all about.
Don’t comment often. This young man is no Pappa Chubby, but he is REALLY good. You’ve either got it or you don’t. This guy has definitely got it. Unique interpretation of this song, and probably the most bluesy feel of any that I have heard. Never heard of Ben Poole, but I want to hear more...
What's with this audience man? This dude deserves a roaring out of control stadium crowd. This guy plays and sounds breathtaking, amazing, stunning, astounding, astonishing, awe-inspiring, stupendous, staggering, extraordinary, incredible, unbelievable. magnificent, wonderful, spectacular, remarkable, phenomenal, prodigious, miraculous and sublime. Well, need I say more! ✌️
Holy crap, the synchronicity between Ben and the drummer in the beginning is unreal! GREAT TONE here Ben, just a killer version! Your voice is fantastic for this song...
Thank God this was captured on tape. This is a great rendition of this song, likely the best I've heard, and the crowd reaction does it no justice. Kudos to Ben Poole. What a great player.
i saw him play this last night in Evesham, WOW! ive been playing for years and he was inspirational. it takes time, effort and vision to play like he dose . worth every bit of praise he gets. rock on Ben keep at it. look forward to what he's playing in twenty years.
Jimi would be beyond proud... SRV too. Ben has that deep, full sound like SRV.... A great child of music. I hope he soon gets the recognition he deserves!
+Man_In_A_Pram touche, touche... I can't. BUT I like to believe all of the blues greats that have passed would be proud of any young musician keeping blues alive. Blues is a dying musical style, and kids like Ben here are saving that music for the future generations to learn from and enjoy too. Also, as a musician, it is always flattering when someone draws inspiration from you, and it's blatantly obvious SRV and Jimi were huge influences for Ben... But no, who knows, they might've been pissed to hear this, I just really doubt it.
Dat tone, Dat attitude, Dat voice.....My oh My! what a thrilling & soulfull performance...if this wont make you fall in love with blues all over again I dont know what ever will😍😍
I am 56 and have seen Ben perform many times.Unfortunately its the same old story when it comes to Blues/rock in that the crowds are normally an older generation and many are loyal or should I say stuck in the late 60,70 and 80s blues rock scene so its like cracking a nut .Ben is the best thing out of Britain in the last 20 years in this genre.
I don't see it. Fast playing doesn't make great music. Listen to Roy Buchanan's version from 1976 and you'll see where Ben got it from. I didn't like Roy's version either. That's why they're not ecstatic. Body Count, with Ice-T of all people, did a better interpreatation and owned the song.
Brian Boyle hahahah what are you saying man?! Bodycount just did an sad impression of hendrix but its not even close to getting some kind of feel or emotion in it hahaha your comment is a joke. Ben made it his own but maybe you aint got the right ears
I didnt like this version the first time I watched it. But then I gave it another try. The more I watched it, the more I begin to appreciate the beauty of it, its full of small great details, like brush strokes of a painter... Now I like it and I really think that Ben Poole and his band manufactured an unique masterpiece here.
Man you just gotta love that Telecaster sound its so raw and in your face. Damm i turned from a strat player in to a Telecaster banger. That guitar playing is sick man 👌🏼
Have been listening to this one for a few years now. 1.2M views is good but I am surprised it’s not a bit higher. This has to be one of the all time staples of how to individualise an awesome cover of a cover. And also a great example of modern blues rock. A legendary song and incredible it’s from someone so young
I really like his version of this classic tune, nice job!, full of emotions, and it didn't seem fake either. one of my favorite songs, trying to learn a beginners version of it right now!
I agree, I like to see musician's put their own flavor to a cover. Goes to show u can be creative in doing covers, and if u get a chance check out Roy Buchanan's version of hey joe, you'll love it. Peace
Incredible talent. Tuning on the go is amazing! A fantastic interpretation. The spaces that Hendrix didn't add because of the constraints of the context, are so powerful. Fantastic, man, many thanks
I realize that this has been out for @ least four yrs but I know deep in my heart, Jimi would’ve loved it! I can just see the two of them, face to face in a guitar duel!!

+Arron Thompson Good story and always nice to see someone you know do well in life. This guy feels it and rips !
According to the description this was the soundboard recording, no ambient
I know what you mean Arron. Yea. Harry Styles epitomises what’s wrong about the whole thing. 😞
@@dannypembroke2372 Yeah, he's kind of the best of the worst.
Qqqqqqqqq1
Played in front of the wrong crowd. Absolutely raw talent, deserves a roaring crowd.
That's the blues for ya!
They are probably more focused on their cell phones than what's happening up on that stage. Everything is just flying over their heads.
He's fantastic
Capo!!! Amo esta canción!

Yep
I feel exactly the same this guy can make it
Ben's a better guitarist than popa
He’s definitely better than Papa Chubby
12years later, and 1636732829 times listened to this, its stil the best YT cover of hey joe…
👍🏼🎯🏆🎯👍🏼!!

In the description. Audience wasn't mixed in
First time I have heard of him...He has the gift. Just brilliant.
SAME
Absolutely 💯
Me too. Amazing.
Ben Poole: Performs legendary version of Hey Joe
Audience: These guys are a little loud for this farmers market
Thanks bro'
Made my day. :-))
A lot of people can play a cover, but only real musicians can give their own interpretation of a song. Well done!
Have been listening to music for over 66 years.
This guy is mighty good.
Thank you youtube algorithm.
After all these years, it finally got one right!
Jimmy would have ben , VERY PLEAZED and PROUD to hear this.
Mind blowing , Clever.
Listening again five years later. This is still top shelf artistry.
High five, bro'!
One of the best versions of Hey Joe I've ever heard. My favorite ATM! Love the tone of that Tele right there.
Roy buchanan played a version like this in the 70
Holy crap, the synchronicity between Ben and the drummer in the beginning is unreal! GREAT TONE here Ben, just a killer version! Your voice is fantastic for this song...
All u gotta do is count.....and feel
Been keeping track of this player about a year now.Still can't get enough! Priceless rendition of Hey Joe. Thanks Ben for your vision.
This is a fantastic version - Jimi would approve.
I didn't have to listen for 5 seconds to know this was gonna be really good.
Impressive guitar playing, and I'm just as impressed by whoever mixed this. The definitive example of how to mix a live recording
Never heard of this dude, but I am a total fan now. Absolutely nailed it.
Such a creative and complex interpretation, he's taken it to another level. A great voice too. 👌
Kinda of across between a young Johnny laing and Kenny Wayne sheparrd. This kids got it all. Can't say enough or get enough. You rock on son!!
How have I not heard of this guy, damn fine player
La più sentita e drammatica versione che abbia mai sentito. Grazie 😢
I especially love the bit between 0:00 and 11:28
Yeah !!
Gotta give my respect to this shit, young brother got soul and a whole lotta skill to go with it ✊🏿
he did a justice to this legendary song. i am pretty sure jimi would have smiled himself seeing this being performed.
It's not jimis song!
@@davidhooper1015 haha. Okay. 😂
@@davidhooper1015 Jimi didn't write it but arguably he MADE it the classic it is.
@@davidhooper1015 a lot like “with a little help from my friends” being Ringo’s not Joe Cockers.
I love watching these blues festivals because I get to see all of these amazing musicians that ive never heard of before. I love it!!
Thousand times better than a cover ! A real true emotional version... Go Ben !
The angst... the voice... the rage.... the looks PERFECT
I've been coming back to this video for years... this is incredible
One of the best performances of this song, I ever heard
Excellent as a guitarist and as a vocalist….these guys deserved to be known!!!
I swear the most talented people in the world are people on TH-cam you’ve never heard about
Thank God this was captured on tape. This is a great rendition of this song, likely the best I've heard, and the crowd reaction does it no justice. Kudos to Ben Poole. What a great player.
Surely not better than Hendrix himself
Tank you Ben Poole and band. Its very nostalgia version.
OMG this rendition gives me chills-and what a beautiful and powerful voice! The drummer and bass player do a wonderful job as well.
One of the best covers of this song I ever heard! Incredible creative in any detail!!
Roy buchanan played a version like this in the 70
You should listen to Catfish take on this song.
i saw him play this last night in Evesham,
WOW! ive been playing for years and he was inspirational.

so much power inside this performance that many people don t understand ...
The crowd clearly didn't understand the greatness before them....
But that E string did and it tried to steal that greatness right out from under his fingers!
we all know the words: ... do not throw diamonds in front of pigs...
They're Dutch - they're ecstatic.
Jimi would be beyond proud... SRV too. Ben has that deep, full sound like SRV.... A great child of music. I hope he soon gets the recognition he deserves!

@Dalton Wynn. He’ll get the recognition. He just needs to get out there and get some exposure to promote himself.
Not releasing this would be a crime, glad you did thank you
Os anos vão passando e cada vez acho mais extraordinária esta versão.
Ben Poodle é fantástico!
Never seen this young man before. Its hard to find good young talent today...
True sixties bluespeak. This kind of deep passion cuts through all of what I've heard in a long while.
Absolutely beautiful guitar playing!

I feel lucky to have just witnessed this.
Mercy!! What talent - so young! Haven't heard blues like this in a long time...voice and skillz.
Hendrix fan all my life and first time I heard these guys they are good, he has his own style good blues voice and can play very danm good 👌🍻👌
