FSM - Pohnpei - Around Island Attractions

- If there is a road going around the whole island, how could you resist driving on it to discover the attractions the island offers? We toured the island clockwise and visited the many small attractions available. Some sites like Nan Madol and long hikes are best done on different days otherwise you won't have time to finish the circumnavigation in one day! We included the town of Kolonia at the beginning and the end of this island tour but you can also do these sightseeings on a different day.
Contact the Pohnpei Visitors Bureau to get maps and other details of what to see around the island. look on this channel for videos about specific attractions. Filmed in April 2012.

Wow i dont know and i dont i understand why i missed this beautiful island.I live here for 5-6 years .I have so many good memories and good old day with friends and family and family that took me in to become part of their family.i love the food the people .

I was in 1968 on this beautiful island. We were with the cargo ship Gertrude ten Doornkaat by the shipping company Bernhard Schulte Hamburg a few days on the island. This island once had a German school. After the first world war the island Truk, Pohnpei, Majuro and Yap were issued to the Japanese. I was in the year with German language and met a native-He spoke perfectly the German language. And was very proud to speak our language.
I haven't visited Pohnpei since i was 5 my parents and my sister took a trip there once it was awsome from little clips of memory i had there its a beautiful island

Yes, some people in the Pacific islands eat dogs ... it is not as common as turtles or sharks but anything that can be eaten ... is eaten by someone somewhere!

My sister lived in Guam for 13 years...our family is from Hawaii...I had some friends that worked at Continentiakl Airlines and we went raveling for fun...here at Pohnepei in 1996.There are a lot of japanese tourist, I've seen some New Zelandders, Americans, European travelors. The food is catered to tourist travelers...As for Dog...I've never heard of it.. When you travel into town..it is modern compared to hiking ito the waterfalls...Going to see Nan Madol is also fun..boat tour....
Yes.... the island is a place of wonder where everything that have meet is eaten by some people. I was born and raised on this island, speak the language and 6 of the outer islands languages and understand most of the languages from the island region, eat dog (not turtle), married to and island girl, and we, the island people are so proud of who we are, our island life style and so many more.

Ich war im Jahr 1968 auf dieser wunderschönen Insel.Wir waren mit dem Frachtschiff Gertrud ten Doornkaat von der Reederei Bernhard Schulte Hamburg ein paar Tage auf der Insel.Diese Insel hat eine Deutsche Schule.Nach dem ersten Weltkrieg wurden diese Insel Truk,Ponape ,Majuro und Yap an die Japaner abgegeben.Ich wurde in dem Jahr mit deutscher Sprache von einem Einheimischen begrüßt-Er war perfekt in deutscher Sprache.Und war sehr stolz unsere Sprache zu sprechen.
