I always had the og pokemon binders, and even now I buy the official japanese pokemon ring binders. I've been collecting since 1998 as a child and no one believes me when I say my cards don't have damage from the binders. But it's true. I don't know how people get it so damaged, it really puzzled me. Now watching this video I understand why people thought that x'D I guess I was just very carefull with my cards compared to other kids. Recently I bought black side sleeved sheets. I double sleeved all my old cards and put them in my childhood binders (the snorlax and Team rocket etc) And they look better then ever ^^. (ps: don't get me wrong I was still a child and they are damanged, some with black mini spots and some have light scratches lol but no dends of bends)
Yeah I see a lot of comments on social media suggesting that cards WILL get damaged in ring binders but it comes down to user error, unfortunately. I still recommend the new style, but ring binders are fine if you're careful.
Thanks for this video - I only got into collecting recently and I have a ring binder, but recently started seeing all the talk about how ring binders are evil and destroy all your cards and got worried for a sec. Glad to know they're alright as long as you take care, but I'll look into the other styles you mentioned for next time. Very useful video and well explained, so thank you!!!
My gripe with non 3 ring binders is that if you want to change binders you have to take each individual card out. I'll only get that kind of binder if I know for fact I'm keeping them there for good.
i would never use anything other then a toploader binder every card worth putting in a binder should be put in a penny sleeve then in a toploader then in to the binder problem solved
