We Are the Champions (cover) - Suzan Alakas and Krapin Paja Band 31.08.2023 🎶✨

Last week, I sang on stage with a rock band for the first time ever!! 🤩
One song.
One chance.
Oh boy was it a challenge on so many levels!
“Sävel”? The keyboardist asked me, as I adjusted the height of my microphone and got my bearings.
“Uhhhh…” I stammered, and stared back blankly.
(😳 I had NO CLUE what he was asking me in Finnish! But then he began to play, so I started singing..)
“I’ve paid my dues… time after time..”
(😳 Can the audience hear me? Oh gosh this key is too low for my voice! Am I singing in tune? Arghhh, I can’t hear myself with the music blaring behind me.)
“Weeeeeeeee are the champions, my friends”
(😳 Is the crowd into it at all? I have no clue as I am totally blinded by these lights and just see a sea of black in front of me.)
“Cause we are the champions!”
And just like that, it was over.
I bowed, mumbled some thank yous… and quickly got off stage!
Safely back at my chair, I shook my head and laughed.
What the heck did this poofy-skirted-ballet-flats-pearl-wearing-girl just do in a beers and leather joint?!
🤦‍♀️😂
But you know what?
I. Was. Brave! 💪
YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE PERFECT to make progress, OR to grow, OR to have fun OR to inspire someone else to go for their dreams too!
Regardless of the outcome…
We are ALL champions when we TRY, my friends! 🤩
