They would have made it in music somehow, together or separately. Mercury Records dropped Smile when their Earth/Step On Me single flopped in the USA. If it had been a hit there, Mercury Records were going to release it in the UK, where it would have flopped anyway.

All members of the band were talented, but the genius was Freddie Mercury. Freddie was much more than a rock star. Freddie Mercury's music is the music of beauty and freedom. Freddie was the music itself! Original, special charismatic! Freddie's voice and stage performance and piano playing , are inimitable and irreplaceable! Queen would never have been Queen without Freddie Mercury! Queen disbanded in 1991. Deacy is gone too. Being a real man, Deacy is honest and truly respects the legacy of the real Queen and Freddie Mercury. Not a single day can mention these copycat careerist guys (AL the clown, Martel the howling dervish, etc.) - with Freddie! They just want a career for themselves; plastic music and technology. Neither Roger nor Brian have written a single song since Freddie's death. They live From Freddie's talent. Shame.

Where are John's successors: David Grosman (1998-2004), Danny Miranda (2005-2009), Chris Chaney (2010) and Neil Fairclough (2011-present)? They are all also the same bassists as Deacon! And why did not you include Tim Staffel (Freddie's predecessor as lead vocalist and one of John's predecessors as bassist)? Tim Staffel was lead vocalist of Smile, not Freddie!

Actually, Brian May and Tim Staffel formed Smile and hired Roger as their drummer. Freddie was friends with all of them and joined after Staffel left.
