Didn't know Rita sang. I found about via "Please Come To Boston" from listening to B.W. Stevenson's version, even tho Loggins wrote the song, I found out how many different singers recorded this song. When I saw "Rita Wilson" .. I thought, hmm she's married to Tom Hanks. .... didn't know she was a singer .... WOW- learn something every day ... So far, a total of 41 versions, including 4 instrumentals..
Her name recognition way exceeds her talent. Her voice was below average for a professional singer. Reba Mc's cover of this song was 100 times better. For the longest time I'd thought she had sung the "All Time High" (a Jame Bond movie theme song), which was phenomenal, only to realize later that it was done by Rita Coolidge. Two of my friends made the same mistake of identity. Call it the Tom Hanks coat tail effect.
