@@lordgaledron6969 no not really , I just distinctly have a hatred towards villains that have a tendency towards those acts , I can get behind a cool villain but being a nonce or rapist makes me instantly hate them , hate them in a way I’d hope game developers would want because to me it’s the worst act one could do to another and I just want to end the villain brutally as soon as I can. After killing him a couple of times I did look at his model but the first play through was fueled with hatred towards Arasaka for taking my boy Jackie and Adam for obviously being a psychopath that obviously gets away with a lot due to him being a borg and a legendary solo who’s in the employ of Arasaka. It made me hate him and want to kill him , not in a way that made me dislike the game , I enjoyed it more because I looked forward to killing smasher
I think the smasher fight took me 4-6 short circuits to kill him. The irritating part is the first one always dropped him to half health. (I did all the endings that play through.)

I think Adam Smasher only used the Sandivistan in preparation to fight David and removed it later on after the incident since no one will use a Sandivistan capable of insane speed like the one that David used which almost stopped time

The fight would've been so much cooler if they gave him all the cyberware we see him use but in a smart way by only using them to counter every single cyberware the player uses. Like if the player uses a sandevistan and goes up to smack him, but suddenly he starts moving like normal towards you, completely unaffected by the Sandy when normally NPCs are super slowed when you used Sandevistan to easily wipe the floor with everyone. Or if you use Netrunner hacks when suddenly he counters with overheat as part of his automatic firewall protection against netrunners, and the damage is reduced + he becomes angrier and charges you more, etc. And for each cyberware you use, he becomes harder because he then uses those cyberware as well throughout the fight. This would show the player that "yes, this beast has every god damn cyberware you installed and MORE" but also forces the player to actually struggle and fight Smasher toe to toe. Or they could just give him more phases where he places an emphasis on different combat cyberwares
well i think that was the idea initially but then players started bitching about the delays plus the bitching of the investors not seeing their money back and with that pressure of both side they release a poor game
He basicaly does the first 2 atleast in after phantom liberty rework he has his own sandy that matches speeds with every sandy along with that Quick hacks atleast low level ones do not work on him as he has extreme ICE that will reverse your hack to yourself
I just fought him and it felt like this is exactly what he does The fight took FOREVER, even with every turret in the room and support person cyberpsychoed and shooting at him
It's cool enough you can incapacitate Adam Smasher early on in the game, but a really cool thing to prevent the game from soft lock is that you aren't necessarily allowed to kill Adam Smasher early on but you are allowed to only incapacitate him. This would mean that he would still be alive for Arasaka to get him back on his feet. To prevent soft locking, you'd still get to fight Adam Smasher in the end but if you somehow defeat him before Act III, Adam Smasher would be heavily upgraded, essentially doubling whatever he was for the final battle, resulting in increased difficulty and just extra pain in the ass for the player. Could be a cool concept.
to be fair, smasher doesnt need to be knocked out. it's stated in the ttrpg lore that he can come back from almost anything, from a puddle of blood and brains even. he's arasakas golden goose, they don't let him die.

Adam in the anime is a menace he’s done so dirty in the game. Honestly with my three second cool down sandevistan I just destroyed him on hardest difficulty. You know I used Rebecca’s shotgun. Although he killed some of our favorite characters it’s kiwi and faraday that deserve all the hate imo. Adam just did what he’s always done.
I honestly wish they had done more with smasher in the game and the show. Like if he ran into maines crew and smoked half of them on the spot or chased V throughout the game like the fucking terminator. The scariest part about adam smasher is that he has plot armor until the game. I hope they use that for future properties.

Would be so cool if he actually, ya know, had a Sandevistan and teleports around like a horrifying bull monster on steroids, used netrunner program hacks to counter your own netrunner hacks and repeatedly slow you down with status effects throughout the fight, and much more. It would make the player actually get why Adam Smasher is so feared. I knew of the anime and saw his intro in the game and thought "Dang, I'm going to need to be at the top of my game when I finally fight him" and ended up just slapping him around and almost instantly killed him with my 2.5 second sandevistan and gorilla arms if it wasnt for him being weirdly invincible until you took out the goons.
Your comment at the end is the exact reason I’m glad they’ve switched to Unreal 5 for the sequel. Because instead of pumping resources and dev time into making and maintaining an engine they can just focus on the game itself

As a big fan of both games it's a no difficulty for Horrigan. He's a specially engineered supermutant cyborg pumped full of all the PEDs known to the fallout world. He has a plasma rifle latched on his arm that outclasses Smashers arm launcher, he's 3 feet taller, SIGNIFICANTLY stronger (he tore a deathclaw in 2 with his bare hands effortlessly), he has a dead man's switch nuke, so on and so forth. The fact that Horrigan ever died is nothing shy of a miracle.

would be really cool to get an alternate ending where you and jackie kill smasher then proceed to walk out of the place guns blazing against legions of arasaka. you and jackie deliver the chip and hit the road.
