All he mentioned on his video (ce, cet, cette) are to be used before a noun (that pen). When you use this and that as in "what is that", or "this is crazy" (pronoun I think ?), you'll use ça ou c' when before a vowel (this is awesome => c'est genial)

No, the Ce in C'est is not the same one as the one in this video. This lesson focuses on Demonstrative Adjectives. The other CE and Ça belongs to another class of words known as Demonstrative Pronouns.
Eg. Je veux ça- I want this or that
C'est facile- It is easy.
Demonstrative Pronouns are divided into two types. The invariable class that includes Ça, ce, ceci and cela and the Variable class which includes Celui,Celle,Ceux,Celles. Invariable Demonstrative Pronouns can be combined with -ci or -là eg.Celui-ci, celle-là etc. Invariable demonstrative pronouns refer to a previously mentioned noun and must agree in number and in gender.
