Wow
I'm very envious of you.😊
Kup koun na krup. 😊 I'm also very envious of you. Love your channel. Great editing. 👍 And such a cute 👶.
Hey Brother. Another great video. Playing catch up , been out foraging as well. Great King bolete finds and also the Hericium. The specific type depends on what kind of tree it was found on. If it’s on a dead or dying Douglas Fir tree, or Conifer in general, then it would be Hericium abietis. Aka Bears head. If it was found on Alder or Birch or Cottonwood (Hardwoods) then it would be Hericium coralloides. If it’s the True “Lion’s Mane” you would find it on hardwoods only. This one has a very distinct look with the teeth running down almost like it was groomed that way. One important “Key” to learn about mushrooms or fungi in general is to learn about the types of substrates the individual mushrooms grow on, ie type of tree, region, time of year and so on. Learning about the keys will help you learn and do better when foraging. Thanks for sharing some great content brother. Appreciate you and Smiley doing your thing. Happy Foraging👊🍄
Thanks 😊 and for the info, too. I appreciate the well put comment, too. Happy Foraging to you too.
Today I went out and I used what I learned from watching you look for mounds. Found six matsutakes. All either ones or twos. That is a great day for me. Thank you for showing us how to search.
I'm glad i can help. I'm so happy for you. 👍 You will only get better as you are used to seeing them like that. 👏
👏👏👏👏😀👍😊
Thank you for watching. 😊
Where are you hunting in this ??
In the PNW at Gifford Pinchot National Forest.
Wow how lucky for you living near the forest where you can find these tyor of mushroom. 👍🍄🍄
Yeah, I love it up here. 😃
@@mushroomsforagingadventures I am jealous 😢. But lucky for you 👍
Damn! Thats a nice blueberry thicket between 10:20 and well the rest of the video 😂
what part of the country are yall located? Looks like it could be my neck of the woods. PNW
Yes, indeed, it's your neck and my neck of our woods. 😆 Up in Gifford Pinchot NF.
Hi - New subscriber and was wondering why people pat/tap the tops of the boletes?
Good question! I didn't know before, too. To release the spores to the ground.
Sounds nice and can give clues on quality, soggy ones won’t make that sound. Also porcini means little piggy in Italian,so it’s similar to a farmer patting a prized pig.
To spread the pores !
Thank you for sharing the awesome video 😊. Actually which one you like the most..foraging pine mushrooms or kings bolete or lobster mushrooms and may we know why?
Pine is the most challenging and tastiest. (for me) So, Pine mushrooms!😊 But I do love picking them all. If I had to choose, Pine.
Wow what general area? I would love to find one of these or the matsutake
Well, you're in luck. Gifford Pinchot National Forest is starting to get pine mushrooms in them there woods again. I just got back to Washington State. I'm trying to track down the whereabouts of them, too. I'll keep yall posted. 👍
@@mushroomsforagingadventures I was in Gifford yesterday. I drove up to Kalarma area then east. No mushrooms until 3500 feet at least.
@gabrielapetunia1871 Yes, with pine mushrooms, they start at the high elevation first, then gradually make it way down to the lower elevation. 😊
@@mushroomsforagingadventures Looong drive from me though so haven’t been to that area cause alone with a dog so doesn’t have help with sharing the driving 😂
your video skills are getting so good! found a bunch of Porchini the other weekend too. Lots of buggy ones and some non buggy ones
What camera do you use?
@mmmmmray I'm just using my camera phone on my Samsung s23 ultra plus. I'm still learning how to use it. The phone is too smart for me. Have to learn some more. 😆 🤣 😂
Good for you. Yeah, it's about 70% wormy. 😔
The slightly buggy ones you can dry and the worms fall out. I give those away to friends and family.
@@mushroomsforagingadventures Brooo looks so good for just a phone. That's awesome. What would you want to learn?
im always watching your videos and always glad the way u find the mushroom, hope one day i can exp. picking those😇 more videos please
Thanks for watching my videos. More videos are coming 👍
I cannot find the good one here only poisonous is a lot
do you slice dryers by hand? I usually dry everything because we don't always have a buyer. Some days I might get 200 lbs so slicing by hand become quite a lot of work.I pick on the east side in spring.Have always wanted to get me a camera and make videos. The good thing is we don't have to fight the rain here.
Yes, all sliced by hand, and the green gills pulled out before slicing. They look more white when dried. You diffently should get a camera if that interests you. 👍 Learn as you go. 😃
@@mushroomsforagingadventures
A chef I know dries the tubes and grinds them in a coffee grinder into porcini powder he puts in soups and sauces.
@@gabrielapetunia1871 Yes, I've heard that as well. 👍 Even medicinal mushrooms.
