Awesome videos! I appreciate this from you. I live in Manitoba. I found a spot (maybe 2). I found 2 over mature last couple days. 3 in total including my 7 year old sons' unearthed Matsie tonight , which open veil revealed clean white gills underside. P.S. (If you're ever down this way during favorable season/conditions; it would be double awesome to bring you to the spot at a higher % of keeps in return I get hands-on skill to get much better at spotting, digging & learning environment variables fro you.) 🙂🙂🙂
Thank you❤ my dad takes me mushroom picking every year since I was 6 and just can't seem to up his skills, and I wanna impress him. I've been saving up a laptop for school as well. Need 551.04, currently have 115 from pickin last weekend
Run Forest! Ruuunnn! 😆 🤣 Last year, Smiley got stung almost every day. I got stung less. Luckily, this year, there are not a lot of nests in my area. Only got stung once. I haven't found a better solution yet other than running really fast and far. Lol 😆
I didn't answer the question. 😆 I think it's just of the tree roots system that the mycelium or mycelia infects. Possible other than pine tree? I might need to google that. 🤔
Damn ya. You and Smiley finding Matsutakes already.👍😎
Where we met might have some already.
I love your channel. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Also I like to know if that was a concern at 7:38+?
I know Canada can go bonkers some years for Matsie. Maybe one day I want to give it a try. 🤔
No concern at all. 😃

Thank you for this video. Wow!
What do you recomend to do when you encounter yellow jacket nests? I have encountered 6 nests this year and got stung every time?

@@mushroomsforagingadventures I feel like it's been a bad year for them , seems like they are invisible, they just appear out of no where lol
Where can I find these in Northern CA/Mount Shasta area? Is it season already?
I'm not sure. I've not hunted Mt. Shasta. 🤔
I'm waiting for part 2
It looks so dry, but you did pretty good! How do you feel about this year? Average , above average, below average? Happy foraging bro!
I think GPNF is going to be great. 👍 Plenty of moisture are the right time for pine.
@@mushroomsforagingadventures I haven't picked them in that area, but I will see how it goes in my area. Good luck to you guys!
@@tnycchen9790 good luck to you too. Happy foraging! 👍
So maybe a dumb question but are they called pine mushrooms because they grow around pine trees? Hunting on southern Vancouver Island. Great video!
Great question 👍 Matsutake is the term for them in Japanese. Translated to English means pine mushroom.
