    Nice to hear the engine runs and it is nice to see David to help you your Anna back on the street. When I remember David was not so far with his TR250 and at the end his car is back on the road again, bevor the GT6.

    I know it can be frustrating when problems pop up, but I'm sure for many such as myself the troubleshooting and diagnosis you go through is invaluable. Looking forward to next video!!

    Magnificent! Congratulations on this first run after 37 years! And a good lesson: always check your hoses before use. 😃

    Nothing like a team effort. A lot of fun. One thing at a time and you’ll have a driving car.

    It is usually a bit nerve wracking to get a rebuilt engine started and running properly. It didn't take too long and sounds good. I remember my first rebuild of the XK120MC more than 60 years ago. The cam timing was off, the ignition timing was off, the carbs were dripping, etc. It took me 2 days to finally get it running well and I nearly gave up a couple of times. Thanks for the video. Looking forward to see this car come together.

    You can get new banjo bolts (the thing that snapped) and the Y shaped fitting that goes with it in stainless steel to hopefully prevent it breaking sometime in the future. Can’t offer any suggestion on getting the old bit out though as I sent mine away to be refurbished cause of that particular issue.

    Why lose one nut or bolt when you can lose all of them?
    Motor sounds strong. When it barked off Mary was clapping “WOOHOO”
    Well done Elin and Dave.

    Congratulations! 1st start is always a little frustrating, but with your patience and diagnostic capabilities, and of course your friend David, it sounds great. I have been bitten by a plugged line several times with the culprit being a mud wasp filling the line with mud, great work

    As always, a wonderful video you will get the bugs out. I really like the homemade dashboard clamped on the frame. I’m gonna make me one. Congratulations to you and David. Oh and happy new year. It’s gonna be a good one.

    It's great to hear even brief "life" in that engine after all these years!🎉🎉🎉
    After watching your carb rebuild video, I diid some reading about those particular Strombergs. One thing I noticed a lot of people did with them is block off the bimetal, temp sensing fixture on the side of each carb (under the plastic cover). Whether that would help in your case or not, who knows. Just passing this along as an idea.
    Oh, and David is a very good friend... doing the dirty jobs for you, laying on the cold, hard concrete! 👍

    Interesting to see your starter motor is clocked from 12 to 9! I had recently adjusted mine to this configuration, makes doing the bolts up much easier

    Well done Elin. In my 50+ years of motoring, I have had many SU carburetted engines but only 1 Stromberg, which for some reason I never sorted out. I'm sure you'll sort it, I look forward to seeing what you do.

    Congrats on the first start! Although having oil pressure please check having oil at the rocker arms! To get out the big manifold screw without screwing up the thread is a pain in the butt..don´t ask me why i know..unfortunately it´s the only 6 cylinder manifold that fits under the GT6 hood...

    I feel much better seeing the trans disconnected given Dave’s initial sitting position! His proximity to the rear shaft was a safety concern!😎😎😎

  • @bernardwarr4187

    Could be that fuel pump needs a pressure regulator for you particular situation?

    • @RustyBeauties
      @RustyBeauties  วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Yes, I think so, for the next start I will probably use the mechanical pump.

    I have a feeling the gearbox rear mount should very 2 studs and nuts, not bolts?

    • @RustyBeauties
      @RustyBeauties  วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      It would be safer, true, but I've never seen studs there on a D-type and J-type, which mounts the same way.
