Puddle Books: The Lie

- The Lie was the first book of the puddle books story it came out around 1995 while this was being the first for the story this is one of the only story to have the main character be the narrator of the story.
I haven't played this game in nearly 20 years! Why do I remember everything so vividly?

I always remember seeing this in bargain bins at computer stores in the late 90's and early 2000's.

Thank you for posting this. I never had the game but remember playing the part where she meets the Lie in a Puddle Books demo on a Math Blaster CD back in 1999. My sister and I would replay the demo CONSTANTLY. We loved it so much, we still have the entire song memorized (we are now in our late 20s!). Good to finally see the whole game...I miss this style of 2D animation in computer games. It's all 3D now.
+777hobo777 I had my copy of The Lie since I was 3 or 4, that was back around 2002-2003. Unfortunately it's extremely scratched up, currently I have a secondary copy I ordered off Amazon. This really does need a sequel.

@@ParadoxialParodies , truth to be told, I remember BOTH Puddle & Living Books, together with the games from Humongous Entertainment. But I did NOT play the Disney Animated Books games, now I really need to download and play them too. Wikipedia also showed there's Magic Tales, Playtoons & The Kidstory Series, wow, that's a lot of stuff I never explored.
@@arrowghost Yeah there is a lot more see I didn't think anyone remembered Magic Tales one of the stories I remember playing from that series was The Little Samurai and there is a lot more stuff than anyone expected for example like Paint Box Pals not everyone remembers those games let alone the box they came in I still got the box that has the 3 in 1 collection.
Also of you want another game to explore that was made back then well look at Darby The Dragon lol
@@ParadoxialParodies , Darby the Dragon is an equivalent to the HE games (Freddi Fish is my favorite), Paintbox Pals doesn't seem so as I checked their TH-cam videos (I could give Paintbox a try)
Oh, looking at Darby already reminded me of Spyro & Spike the Dragon from My Little Pony.
So much and plenty of materials for any today's generation of kids to play (Forget the smartphones & iPads, they're not good & ready for younger kids)
Now I need to find the Little Critter series, I got Grandma, Mom and Dad, now need to find Grandpa and the Great Race.

No one was hurt but Melanie's party was wrecked.
Susie learned to tell the truth.
She discovered the female lie's weakness as she disappears and the rest of em causing mayhem.
It all happened at Melanie's party.

Susie's lie caused an accident at the kitchen at susie's place while in bed that night Susie tried to make her lie depart but it wouldn't go.

That causes her imaginary monster to appear suddenly of its existence of her imagination.

hey there I can tell you how I did this. SO I did make a video on how I record pc games but the short answer is that while I am running Win10 I used two software at the time was either Oracle VM VirtualBox or VM Ware Player and both are free and the OS I used on was Windows XP and from there I played the games on there. Dose that answer your question?
@@ParadoxialParodies , yeah, it may take time for me to figure out to set them up, thought it was easy, but then I run into a lot of errors despite I followed instructions. Not just that, I wanted SheepShaver as well because of Peter's Number Adventures which the set is not complete on PC version, only to be found as a Mac file.
@@arrowghost If they are mac games if your trying to run them I am not to sure on how well people have covered that here on youtube if I am honest. Also one more thing I forgot is if you have windows 10 pro you could also use Hyper-V I think that is only on Windows 10 Pro to use it as you would like VM Ware Player. But see what works best for you and setting up a VM can be a pain in the butt at times that is why if I was to suggest this, if your going to be running older pc games beside something like DOS Box which can be used to run Dos games I would say try either Windows 98 SE, or Windows XP Home, or maybe Pro? depending on the game cause some games would require more memory than what you would get on a 32 bit system so you would end up using a 64 bit system. Also you can ask me any questions and I can try to help out.

I finally got the PCem Win98SE emulation working by finding through Archive dot Org website, it comes together with a working ROM too, saving me so much trouble. Now I'm also giving you a very rare game that I just ordered as a physical CD called "Just Me & My Grandpa", now as an ISO file in exchange just for your collection, you have to figure out the URL, I need to fool YT. It'll be in the next reply.

Susie's female lie is imaginary none of everyone else or her clan could see it besides her.
So if the Lie is just a figment of Suzie's imagination...it was really SUZIE who was doing all the bad things right?
I would actually think Susie would be the antagonist of this story, and the Lie the protagonist, rather than the other way around.

Susie thought she got out of sight of her lie then there was trouble suddenly the male lies pop up causing a disaster Susie's lie grew bigger and got out of her house Susie soon found out and opened to the truth to make the monsters and her lie disappear for good Susie was punished for all the trouble she caused and not doing her homework just as she began writing her homework tonight she wished now that she hadn't tell the truth none of this would ever happened.
She trembled in sadness as she confessed the truth to stop the monsters that her friends couldn't see em when they're invisible.

+FYCY Well, to answer your question it's both. I used a Windows XP emulator to play some older games since Windows 7 has trouble playing older games. Also I do have the original disk for the puddle books games so I hope that answers your question. :D
