1. How close is the start of the toboggan ride is to the Monte cable car station? 2. Can you walk back to the Funchal shore line from the end of the toboggan ride I guess the idea is first cable car from funchal to monte, then toboggan down, then walk back the rest of the way. Doable?
@@WyldStallion-bs9oo Hey, it’s only a 5 minute walk from the top of the cable car to the start of the toboggan. You can walk back afterwards but you’re looking at it taking around 45 minutes so yes it’s doable. The cab is around €20.
Wow! So much to see here. The cable cars and the station are so modern and you get to see such incredible views from up in the sky. Was it scary at all? A 90 minute wait is pretty long for sure. The toboggan ride looks like such a unique experience and I love how the guys are dressed up with the hats. Thank you for sharing all of this culture with us!
Yes, such a fantastic place with so much to do. The toboggan was incredible, now I wouldn’t usually wait 90 minutes for anything but this was the exception and it was well worth it. Thanks for watching ☺️
Totally Awesome Excursion!!! The views from the cable cars were Incredible!!! Hey, you may now qualify for the Tobaggan Olympics!!! Lolol You seemed to make good time!!!😅 Thanks for sharing your Amazing experience!!! 😁🤙👊
Table service in the evening restaurant was good. Lunch not so good. As for the bars the same a bit hit and miss. The crew were friendly. There own entertainment crew in the theater were fantastic. Beatles tribute were good. Some of the other singers sung about 5 songs and told you there life stories which I do not go on a cruise for. I am off on Virgin Cruise in a few weeks. Any tips if you have been on one before please
That’s a fair assessment, I’ve not seen The Beatles tribute but I’ve heard good things. Yes, I went on Valiant Lady just after she came into service. The ship and the cabins are great, the Loose Cannon bar is a hidden gem. The lack of buffet is a personal preference, if you enjoy them you’ll miss it on VV but The Galley is fine even if slow at times. The entertainment is mixed because there’s no actual theatre so the shows can be quite different. I found Gunbae and Extra Virgin were my favourite restaurants. I do have some videos on my channel from my time onboard and as their ships are basically the same they’ll give you a good idea of what to expect. Which ship are you on and where are you off to?
Did this from a P and O cruise a couple of weeks ago and it was exactly as described here. not as scary as you might think and very well organised. Great fun.
never seen a cablecar that goes over the city, those are some incredible views! fun & unique way to get down lol cool experience 😎 thanks for sharing ✨
Those cable cars are so awesome!! (Like a fancier skyliner hehe!) What incredible views from the cable car. Love all of the red/bronze roof tops and beautiful mountain backdrop. The ships really do look tiny from up there lol! WOW Those toboggans are fast! So many people watching too lol! I am pleased you avoided those cars too hahaha. This is not what I anticipated when you said "toboggan" haha but this is so much cooler. What a fantastic excursion!! So fun.
Yes, it was very exciting and I’m glad I didn’t hit anything and we only got hit by the toboggan behind us. What did you think the toboggan was going to look like? Many thanks for watching as always ☺️
Enjoyed that, the baskets are something else! Always amazed no one has been seriously injured but looks like the guys have good control. Look forward to part 2
Yes I will be on the Apex . It's a great ship . I sailed on her April June this year on a Scandinavian cruise. It was fantastic . I would recommend it. Have great time
Many thanks, that was one of my favourite cruises. The ship, food and entertainment were all excellent. The service did seem inconsistent, MDR’s a bit slow and sometimes the bar service was frankly awful. Did you have any issues with this?
Wow that looked like it was fun! I would be a nervous wreck but I think for the experience I would give it a try! 😂 I’m looking forward to the next part of your excursion!
I don't love the Disney skyliner because I don't enjoy the feeling of dangling in a cable car. But that might be preferable to riding through the streets in a toboggan. LOL. It does like a lot of fun. But I would feel better if it weren't sliding down on public roads. Thanks for sharing this wild ride with us!
I’ll be honest, it all looked so much safer than when I was actually approaching the toboggan myself 😂 However this was a bucket list item for me so it had to be done!
@@ALifeintheParks I was thinking of something with wheels and not sleds. After watching the whole video you would probably be going too fast! That looked incredibly fun and would do it in a heartbeat.
Awesome, Bruges is beautiful! There’s a few options on how to get there if you’ve not already booked something? I can let you know if you need some advice. Hopefully you won’t have any of the recent issues with docking in Amsterdam.
That looks like the same cable car system Disney uses. You looked to be a bit close to the wall at times. You need to cut out all those cruise buffets so the toboggan does not jam up 😂😂
Ha ha! I thought I was going into the wall a couple of times. That’s true, considering where you live there’s so many cheap cruise deals around I’m surprised you’ve not taken advantage. Just for the buffets 😂
Such a useful video as we will be coming here with Royal Caribbean next summer. I would imagine their tour would be very similar. Like you I've not decided to do a trip with RC or not. Haha yes it does remind you of the Skyliner lol. You got some stunning views from the cable car. Wow the wait times were huge. Was that first thing in the morning?? Was it worth doing the tour through P&O??
With a cruise excursion I think its worth adding up everything that’s included. From P&O we had transportation to the Skyliner, from the end of the toboggan up to the viewpoint and back into the city for drinks.
I have a chance to do this next yr, with P&O, but I can`t walk up slopes, I can walk on the flat & down slopes. Could you tell me, did you do any walking up slopes, please?
@@brum64 Hi there, sorry for the late reply. The only slight incline is once you leave cable car you have to walk to the toboggan but it’s pretty gentle and not for long. I hope that answers your question?
@@brum64 Yes, at the of the toboggan run is a cafe and shop where you can wait for the rest of your tour party to get back down. Once everyone’s back down the coach will take you into Funchal where you can get off and visit there or just head back to the ship.
