- I suggest you start with Siege Ballista Hierophant and later do the transition to Shrapnel Ballista for absolute power. I play Path Of Exile for a long time and these 2 builds are VERY good! First one is cheap and good, second one is around 100 divine orbs but is absolutely BROKEN. You don't need fancy items or many guides, just stick to only 1 main build each league; rest of your builds will be for fun. Good luck boys!

Hello Mr Maniac, I just want to thank you, you made my return to POE way better, I quit POE back in harbinger, after awhile I decided to buy diablo 4 which made me come back to POE after 2 weeks, I somehow found your build and gave it a try, started as siege ballista, farmed enough in 2 weeks to buy Starting Shrapnel build, for a user that have low to none experience on crafting, never farmed this high in a league and now being able to do all content (some are really hard such as feared but I blame my skills as I'm 40ish and slow) with your Shrapnel ballista I just want to say Thank you, btw I followed some of your big profit guides for lazy farmers and they are great, cant believe I spend almost 200+ divines building mine and I fkn love it, just finished doing a simulacrum and it was too easy, this build is the best, if anyone read this follow some of his essence/harvest farming strategies or guardian farming, I made 90 divines in 2 days doing guardians, its insane... thanks and here is my final build (if you don't add anything crazy mid league, its final) pobb.in/I-t4FPqXRFv8

@@poeguy007 LOL well, there's lot of room for improvement, pretty sure in a couple years it will improve but poe2 is coming so it will be too late
One major adaptation I made to the siege ballista build - I changed auras to Skitterbots and Hatred with bonechill support. Made damage feel much better and the chill from the skitter bots helped quite a bit to slow enemies before totems are firing. I also used the small nodes for mana regen from 4th ascendancy and dropped lifetap out of the siege ballista links. I ended up using barrage as a gem swap for bosses. The build isn't insane, but it's so comfortable!

As I say in the build guide, you need to understand all synergies else you will mess it up 100%
I switched from ice spear totems to siege ballista b/c I was tired of falling over when getting hit by anything. These guides are fantastic; keep up the good work!
Is this much tankier? I was shockwave totems and rerolled because a sneeze would one shot me in Sanctum XD
Love your shrapnel ballista build. I've always wanted to play a build that summons an army, the one thing I hate about this build is that for the totem to have maximum damage we have to place it close to the enemy. But man this build is just like a meat grinder, everything that gets close to it gets destroyed even the 100 Deli mob (Of course except for some mod on the map and on some random rare and magic monster.). For the 6-link ballista setup, I replaced the return projectile support with volatility support. Because the replica boot for each 80 strength adds 1 to 80 chaos damage, the more strength you stack the larger the range your damage deal so the volatility support help to deal more maximum damage, and replace withering touch support with anomalous add chaos damage support because the anomalous version help penetrate 5 of enemy chaos resistance

I played both builds previously and they are beyond bonkers and i like your point about having a fixed starter build that you run each league to get off the ground.. I do however think you are completely of your meds when it comes to 100D being a cheap build - no matter what content it can run :)
I see your point, hehe. But please know that being able to run Sanctums, Simulacrums, do Uber Bosses with just 100 Divine Orbs investment; I consider this pretty cheap | There are builds that can reach this level only after investing 500+ Divine Orbs! | But for new ( or poor ) players -> just Go Siege Ballista ( ignore Shrapnel Ballista )
You can have really cheap maper or bosser, but for a build to do everything effective - you are in hundreds of divs teritory
I'm currently doing a Pathfinder balista totem build but don't feel tanky at all and it's doing like 500k damage with 3 div invested

Have played full invested Dex Stacking Siege Balliste (achieved like 700 Mio Damage last League with proper Tree on Iron Commander) and went for Strength Stacking this League. I'm not as high invested than last League but the Feeling of Siege Ballistas are somewhat better for me. Shrapnel Ballistas have such a low Radius in my Opinion.
Nonetheless: Good Build. Have to test Ubers yet.

Edit: the builds are fantastic but for my playstile Chieftain shrapnel was better before investing in the Hiero Shrapnel.
I found the siege one disappointing, i died a lot and the bossing was horrid, it was impossible. The shrapnel one tho.....fantastic but too expensive. However for a cheap bosser, deadeye shrapnel with mark scaling and return projecrile gives you easy 70m+ dps for 10 divine with no atrubute scaing. Then i went on a Chieftain and Champion and the shrapnel return projectile mark scaling gave me 50mil easily with a ton of tankiness. The reason is that return proj on shrapnel hits with each proj coming back from sniper mark due to the txt on the shrapnel that wach proj hits. Eg shotguning. The shrapnel hierophant is best but not on that price tag. The best build for my playstile before the budget for Heiro Shrapnel is Chieftain flamewall shrapnel ballista. Hinekora flame wall melts clearing and the shrapnel ballista is INSANE since each dps added per proj from flame wall including the massive sniper mark proj, gets the added damage. Also the 70% less damage from return proj does not affect the added damage of flamewall or anger. (Confirmed by gg) So all you need is a way to scale lvls of flame wall so either lvl scaling bow or the helmet with + 6 and quality with one socket
I have not inspected your POB to see how you made it. I inspected 2 guys that complained in the past and they did a total mess there ( nothing like in my guide ). Seen multiple guys that just rushed for the POB link and skipped my build guide entirely!! Even in this very video you have clear gameplay footage of the builds in action!
@@poeguy007 boss i did your build step by step its Vulgaels from the guild. I think its more my playstile and then the build it self. Just saying what worked better for me, the build is solid and amazing. The way i play with it tho i needed more tank and boss dps. Try the Chieftain flamewall shrapnel its really something

@@Vulgaels give me your pob. ill tell you what you did wrong. seen so many mistakes, raging from keeping the lesser multiple projecile support gem and not replacing it as i say in the guide, not taking point plank and many more mistakes. This build has been tested by a lot of players, has multiple gameplay footage. Its my league starter that I use to FULLY unlock my atlas by day 2 and get my 4 voidstones! ALL this i do on extreme budget. @@poeguy007ok let me rephrase, my super duper map juiced atlas with beefed possessed rares and thromented spirits with super juiced t16 scarab maps made me die on the budget siege haha thats what i meant. However the chieftain survived cleared and bossed easier thats what i meant. My play style is the issue not the build

its solid, and can work on a budget. good build!
i played EA ballista too for a loong time. is a good build; explosive arrow as a skill is broken, can work on most ascendancies as a T16 map clearer!
Very great builds man and fun to play. The only issue I ran into was the Replica Boots. I still haven’t gotten them from Heist. I looked on the market but haven’t seen any for sale lol. I took this equipment minus the Bow and put it on my Jugg to try Consecrated path Totems. DUDE! Fun AF :)
keep in mind man, for Shrapnel Ballista strength stacking hierophant 60% of your damage comes from the boots! ( Replica Alberon's Warpath is the most important piece for this build )
@@poeguy007 yeah I know from your video man. They had some for sale on the market early league but I couldn’t afford them at the time. I haven’t seen any for sale lately when I’ve been able to get on. I’ll grab them sooner or later lol. Thanks man :)
have you tried siege ballistas with the return proj ?
yes, it works! but you need attack speed!! if you go for returning proj instead you need to drop the "Thread of Hope" jewel and manually take "Multishot" & "Master Fletcher" nodes. Attack speed is a must if you go for returning proj. Also you want the "Anomalous Returning Projectile"!

You think it is possible to make those builds on ranger?
Hierophant is best because of his ascendancy points, you get so much value! "Ritual Of Awakening" is the most broken; but also "Pursuit of Faith" is great. You can see them here -> www.pathofexile.com/ascendancy/classes/Hierophant
You'd lose a TON of damage and a lot of the survivability. The two totem nodes give you so much power. At low dex, there won't be too much difference between them because you will only have like 8-10 totems. Once you get like 15-20 totems, each one scales the power of the other totems and of your offense and defense as heiro. Just straight up won't get there as a ranger.

It's stupid cheap right now. Follow this guy's guide to Memory of Chasms. Since memories always go up, you can go tier 1 to tier 16 in just 5 memories. It also drops you sweet tainted fusing so you can buy a cheap cheap wildwrap with +1 corrupt and link it with tainted REALLY easy. The build is so cheap to start!
Hello, if its your first character this league know that in the siege ballista build guide you have at the end detailed info on how to league start with this build ( from zero currency ). You should focus unlocking your atlas first from white, yellow, red maps. For farming method i recommend sticking to crimson temple ritual/strongbox/blight until you get MORE LEVELS! when you reach around lvl 90+ and get better gear you can try other farm options, but not sooner. I wouldn't give this more then a 3 out of 5 for mapping, it's just too slow compared to other builds, still I'm gonna try this in the sentinel event and see if I want to league start it.
