    I've found that exile leveling is a good tool to not miss any of the passives and know immediately where to go to if I'm a little lots. Nice vid it's always good to remind ourselves of these fundamentals.

      It is safe to say the Skill is a top choice. Toxic rain has been a SOLID leaguestarter for every league since the gem got introduced to the game. It is allmost impossible to mess up the basic Damage over time (Gem Based) variant of the skill.

    on the movemenst speed craft a nice thing to remember is that if u do it over and over u get 5% increased everytime intil max on item level so u can get 20 move speed up to 30 buy dong it twice if the pair of boot has high enough item lvl for 30%

    Couple of things:
    If guide is till act 6 (included) it's what you should look for (if it skipped Library Act 3), as there is mostly no changes almost on majority of builds after act 6, however on skill tree part i never understood those who do Act 2 skill tree looks like that, than in what sequence you take nodes.
    Northern Forest in Act 2 is good Exp zone, Aqueducts A4 really depends on build, mostly it would be Dried lake, or Kaoms Stronghold, or a good Exp Boost is Daresso's Dream Cages.

    How many hours is "good" to finish the campaign you think? It ofc depends on the build but knowing if i am running too slow or faster is good to optimize paths i think. Also in lab, should you try to get darkshrines or kill argus or try to get every single silver door?

    • @PathofEvening
      @PathofEvening  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The fastest anyone's cleared A10 + Lab in the current league is slightly under 3 hours, but that's looking at the best racers in the world, so they're not really a good basis for comparison. If you're able to clear the campaign in around 5 hours as an experienced player, that really good. If you're closer to 10 as a newer player, that's still a very good pace.
      As for clearing labs, you just want to get to the end as quickly as you can in the majority of cases. If there's a seasonal challenge that requires you to kill Argus or open chests in the final room in Uber Lab, then you can do that if you want to work toward that, but that's pretty much the only reason you would do either.

    • @holyshiet787
      @holyshiet787 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      On average, I finish the campaign in 6 hrs, which includes getting all skill points from side quests. My advice would be to get movement speed boots constantly.
      As for the labs, I just speedrun to finish them without having to kill Argus (but there's also an achievement for that) or use shrines (except for the 4th lab, it is good to have some shrines that disable traps during Izaro's fights)

    • @Meisen1977
      @Meisen1977 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have played the game (on and off) since closed beta. I would definitely call me an experienced poe player, and these are my 2 cents;
      If you are spending more than 12 hours /played after clearing the campaign, then you could, maybe even should, look into some easy tips and tricks to shave a LOT of time from your campaign runs. And you already have i guess just by watching this very video :)
      If you're spending anywhere from 8-10 hours, in my opinion, you're doing fine. Just keep doing what you are doing :)
      If you are closer to the 6 hour mark, then you are probably a part of the 1% fastest players in poe.
      What matters more is your subjective experience, not the actual time spent in the campaign. if you're having a good time, but act 1 takes you 1 hour, then you're actually doing fine. Stop comparing yourself with the racers that finish it in sub 20 minutes :)
      On the other hand, if you're just finishing act 2, and you see tytykiller was the first person to enter act 8 or whatever, and this is irritating you, then you're not doing fine :D Keep watching videos like this, do some practice runs, and voila, you could be a sub 6 hours campaigner yourself. It might feel "impossible" right now, but it's actually "easy" if you're willing to put some practice in :)

      I’d say that some builds have an easier time than others in campaign, I play hardcore and finished the campaign in 5 hours with Ball Lightning of Static totems, the same run on most pathfinders builds would take me 8-9 hours minimum, the major difficulty is gearing the character and knowing which weapon is a big upgrade for your build.

    • @Derratixe
      @Derratixe 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't know if i am classified as a newer player, i was testing league starters and with SS Champion i finished the campaign + 3 labs in around 7-8 hours, i hope thats good for my level ;-; . I have 130 hours in-game and only started playing this league.

    Very nice and accurate Video. I played for aprox 20000 hours. Id like to add, that you should Use a "Gem level scaling" build (Damage increases substantially with Skillgem Level). Do not play a melee character unless you know exactly what you are doing. If you do too much wrong you can end up with a useless character that you need to delete and relevel to correct all the mistakes. A tip for the introduction: Say the 3 quick most important things first. 1 get your resistances capped asap when you reach maps, 2 keep moving, 3 do not overcomplicate your gearprogression.

    'Quickly progressing through the campaign is one of the most important aspects of ensuring you have a great time in the league'.
    I completely disagree. For me and my gf, the campaign is always one of the most fun times during a new league.
    Sure, progressing through the atlas and killing the endgame bosses + doing important trades is also very fun and engaging, but I never understood this whole 'run through the campaign as fast as possible' mindset.
    I'd even go as far as to say that this kills a lot of the fun for many players who think they HAVE to complete the campaign as fast as possible in a league that lasts for 3 whole months.

    Well… any critics of “having” to use third party sotfware (really, you do not have to, it just makes the game easier) does not understand a few concepts here:
    1- this is THE most important one: GGG resources are limited. They are producing the most complex game on Internet right now (it is comparable to 3-4 Eve online complexity) to please as many type of play styles as possible. They chose to “partners” with dedicated players who spend willfully their resources to enrich POE experience at the playability level and community level.
    2- It is very easy to criticize other people work instead of praising. If you take the time to look at the current arpg economy, ALL the top 20 arpg together do not bring half of what POE brings in diversity and functionalities (only one seems to be oriented in that direction but is years behind). I want that diversity.
    3- and finally, POE with no external tool is fine for most players. I played Meridian 59 in 1998, it was the first arpg online and way less complicated than today’s games. It had external tools: a wiki-type website, a puzzle (underground nodes) calculator, a Meridian 59 clock to real world clock, etc…

    It's difficult making videos like this... You kinda want to get as much info in in as short a time as possible (cause ppl have a short attention span), but you don't want to give them so much info that it becomes information overload... 2 principles working against each other there. So, you have to pick and choose what info you want to focus on and what info to skip...
    As i said, difficult... You could LITERALLY make a 3 hour video going in depth on all matter of things that are smart/helpful to focus on in particular cases and/or in each act, but how many ppl will watch that long a video? Probably fewer than needed to justify making such a video, unless you do like tytykiller and imexile and havoc616 and just upload complete vods...
    Anyways, i feel like this video did a good job presenting useful information without overloading us, and in a timely fashion :)

    Some bad information going on here. You don't need resistances? And what Pathfinder or anything on the right side of the tree is getting 200-250 HP per level on league start? It's rare for any class on the right side of the tree to finish act 10 with 3k HP. Unless you have a portal skill gem you're going to spending a lot of time running back from your deaths with -20 resist. No, resistances matter, and the only people you will see ignore them are speed runners pushing for "fastest time". Get to act 6 with the mandatory socket colors, bench craft to get resist to 50+, then just run through the rest of the campaign. That's a lot more of the truth of the matter.

    • @PathofEvening
      @PathofEvening  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      200-250 * 10 is not 3k. Ending campaign as a PF with 2400 health is super normal.

      @@OmgShesUgly Missing the point. The game is needlessly complicated to it's own detriment. If a game developer wants to grow their audience, they need to focus on player retention. Path of Exile is terrible at retaining new players and thus remains niche despite it's popularity. If I have to rely on a wiki to grasp the *_basics_* of a game, that is a failure in design.
      If that wasn't true, GGG wouldn't be busting their asses making sure PoE2 is more accessible.

    • @OmgShesUgly
      @OmgShesUgly 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Masterof7s The assertion that a game's reliance on external resources, such as wikis, for player education constitutes a "failure in design" does not account for the evolving nature of game-play and community engagement in the digital age. Many celebrated games, particularly within the RPG and MMO genres, have thrived on community-driven knowledge sharing and discovery. This dynamic has become a staple of the gaming experience, enriching the game by leveraging collective intelligence and creativity. It transforms the learning curve from a solitary struggle into a communal journey, enhancing the game's social fabric and player investment.
      Concerning player retention and the pursuit of a broader audience, it is essential to recognize the diversity of the gaming community and the variety of player preferences it encompasses. While accessibility is undoubtedly important, homogenizing games to cater to a wider audience risks diluting their unique characteristics, potentially alienating the core players who value those features most. The balance between accessibility and complexity is delicate, and games like PoE have found success by leaning into their complexity, offering a niche yet deeply rewarding experience for those willing to engage with it. Maybe PoE just isn't for you, and that is fine.

    • @OmgShesUgly
      @OmgShesUgly 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Masterof7s And the development of "Path of Exile 2" and the efforts to make it more accessible should not be seen as an admission of past failures but rather as an evolution of the game's design philosophy. It represents an attempt to welcome more players into its world without compromising the depth that defines the PoE experience. This approach reflects a nuanced understanding of the challenges and opportunities in game development, aiming to expand the game's appeal while preserving the essence that has captivated its audience. I sincerely hope PoE2 might be more to your liking :)
