1. My whole SMART system stopped working 7 months ago. I was with E.on. They became eonnext and are claiming that counts as a change in supplier and as such they can no longer access the meter data and it is going to take until 2025 to sort out. 2. On the test system it shows as my electric meter transmitting data but my gas meter not transmitting. However at their end they are getting neither. 3. My IHD no longer displays and daya ata ll and doesn't seem able to connect to either of the meters. The whole system with eonnext is an utter shambles. I have spoken with people that are 'data specialists' when they clear;y are littl;e better than halfwits. I have spoken with customner services representatives who don't even understand their own system or how it is supposed to work. The most likely reason from what I myself can work out is that my electric meter is SMET2, whereas my gas meter is SMET1. The gas meter is the primary - ie the electrricityy meter transmits to the gas meter, which in turn transmits the entire bundle to my IHD and also to my provider. How3ever because of the changeover from E.on to eonnext, the gas meter is now not in the loop, so nothing is being trransmitted.. Quite how one is 2 and the other is 1 I have no idea. Both were installed on the same day by the same engineer when I went ';smart'. They worked fine for 3 years until the change from E,on to eonnext and since then it's been an utter shambles and dealing with a company that couldn't care l;ess about it's customers makes matters worse. The idiots at eonnext even think it's perfectly reasonable to expect me to read my ssmart m,eters for the next 3 years until they cans sort out an IT problem that they actually caused. Garbage system, garbage commpany, garbage staff. DO NOT BE STUPID ENOUGH TO HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH eonnext/E.on. They are a really really poorly run company with extraordinarily poor quality staff and couldn't care less about their customers.

Some appear not to, I don't know why but maybe the supplier has locked the WiFi option?
@@freename Thank you for your reply.
Also my Gas meter is not connected to the Chameleon display screen. I notified my supplier and they said: "The gas meter details are still yet to be updated, this wont connect until the details are correct on the sytem"
Do you know if this is right? The reason I question it is because my Electricity meter connecred to the Chameleon display screen immediatly.
Thank you for your help.
The communication for that kind of function doesn't need "WiFi". The internals like that all communicate using a protocol called Zigbee.
The smart electricity meter has a "comms hub" attached to it.
This comms hub communicates with the "IHD" (the display you have as shown in the video).
This comms hub communicates with the gas meter too. You can have a situation where the gas meter is communicating with the utility company via the comms hub but still not showing on the IHD. Only the supplier can fix this. Changing WiFi settings on the IHD won't make any difference.
Keep chasing them, it took Octopus many months for them to reconnect my Gas to my IHD after my gas meter had to be replaced.
@@freename Thanks very much for your reply and for the information. From what you have said I cannot understand why the Gas meter didn't connect immediatly to the IHD but as the supplier told me to wait 14 days "until the details are correct on the sytem" I will wait to see what happens by next Monday, (both meters were installed on Monday June 10th)
I do not have WiFi settings option on mine
Same mine.something wrong
Did you get this fixed? As mine doesn't either on a ihd6
Corr really complicated
Yep! Awful method of typing in the password!
Hello I can't connect to my wifi.
MIne came with EON - A good meter since it works with my Economy 7, switching at the correct time and calculating the correct rates.
Mine doesn't have a WiFi option
A couple of people have reported this. I don't know what to say other than maybe the energy supplier disable the option or there is a different variant of the in home display which is unable to join wifi.
I just got it installed 2 days ago and now I have a msg that I can’t get to disappear saying Electricity supply disconnected???? WTF Scottish Power
Mine doesn't even have Wi-Fi my brother brought it off eBay so we can monitor our energy he thought I could just connect it to the metre didn't realise it all has to be done through the electric company yes we do have an actual smart metre
You might be able to call them and ask for it to be paired
@@freename that's what I've told my brother
Thank you for your tutorial do you know how to change the language? Mine looks like it’s in Welsh I can’t understand a word so can’t set the box up it’s driving me insane & I’m getting ready to toss it right over the balcony I’m so angry with this nonsense it should have been in English I have no idea why mines in Welsh
Other than if you can see how many clicks to get to the language menu on the video I've made.. no :( I might be able to get access to it again to see if I can make a video on how to change the language but it will only be if I remember when I am near it and if I have time.
there no wi-fi on my smart meter
A couple of people have reported this. I don't know what to say other than maybe the energy supplier disable the option or there is a different variant of the in home display which is unable to join wifi.
I had one fitted ,6 hours later we had a power cut .now it didn't work despite having a good signal strength . E on tell me thats what happens and there is nothing I or they can do .anyone had this happen and sorted it .thanks
Eonnext (as they are now) rare now refusing to replace IHDs.
It would be good if someone had a clue about what one can do once connected to WIFI ;-)
Indeed :) if someone finds out.. comment here :)
Actually, if you have WiFi enabled, you can configure with your Smart Home such as SmartThings so that you can view usage on your phone/tablet app.
please read.. i got my meters changed gas & electricity to smart meters . just to make it clear i am disabled and in a wheelchair with my partner and career as arthritis in the harm .... 1 ... we got the meters installed in 10 th October .... 2 .... the electricity working fine ( gas not talking to electric meter ) ....((( that's how the system works ))) .... 3.... phoned in October 2 times no one came November phoned 2 times again no one gain ...4 ... end of November a engineer came .. said the engineer from October had put it in wrong ,,(( the soft wear )) he said phone eon. Next and tell them it needs picking (( must be a engineer term )) i phoned eon NeXT i told her what he said ... i will call you back ..this happened twice no call back ...5... December 28 th phoned eon NeXT explained all to the women on the other end no joke she said there's a waiting list for there engineers to come out to you ..please remember i am ..... disabled and my partner has to push me over stone to put numbers in to the gas meter (( only way to get gas in the meter )) thank you all and a happy new
It took me just over a year to get someone back to replace our defective gas meter. The display was just blank and it couldn't be revived nor was it talking to the supplier.
I assume you are on pre-pay for gas? how far away from the gas meter is the electrical meter (distance and number of walls)?
mine does not have wifi settings option on mine
As do several other people who've commented. I'm afraid I don't know what causes some to not have WiFi as a function, sorry.
Mine doesn't give WiFi options 😕
Others have reported that too - not sure what decides if they have WiFi available as an option or not.
