You guys rock. I love Scott’s tip of shoulder to shoulder. The finish DOES make a difference, regardless of what some commenters might say.

You explained the tether ball extension at contact swinging out and away and then you went to the finish. There’s a disconnect there with contact left out.

I learned to start grabbing racquet out in front and as early as reasonably possible. That changed my forehand stroke forcing me to extend down target line much longer plus adding much more power.
    Ur welcome

As much as coaches love to talk about finishes, I have learned to hit without even thinking about the finish. My approach has been to get the kinetic chain, swing path and contact point right. I use the modern forehand approach and I hit very hard with or without spin. I really don't even understand what is the fascination with the finish. It occurs way after contact. That's probably just me.

that's kinda important.. where you finish determines the height of the ball literally..

I see you commenting on all tennis videos. For someone who has admitted that they have trouble with easy junk volleys, it seems like you think you're better than you are. Unless you're rated better than USTA 5.5, you should approach these videos with more of an open mind. These guys are pros, maybe there's something you can take away. You may think you can hit it well now, but maybe something breaks down when you play better players, but you just don't know it yet because you haven't had that type of competition.
