What are your thoughts on this topic? 🤔
Assalamu alaikum wa rahmathullahi wa barakathuhu.
I believe evil eye Can affect other individual if Allah allows it to happen.
In Islam we have Du'a to seek help from Allah against evil eye
My mom tells me that recite Ayatul kursi after every fard prayer so that you won't get affected by evil eye
There is a beautiful lecture from Ghamidi sahab where he explains it clearly...
@@afsalarfaj5276 yes of course if Allah allows to happen, true
Evil eye comes only from a jealous person. And it’s real
Could not harm except by Allah’s will.
Thats the point!
Exactly, I'm not a scholar in religion but, i absolutely believe in this promise of allah in the quran, like there are people taking it to the length of developing extreme anxiety or some kind of OCD behaviour. Where is your iman where is your morning and night prayers?, where's your trust of allah.?
@@Katniss_cosmos if it is a false idea, then why would you pray to allah to protect you from a false idea that has no basis in reality. The Qur’an answered this question 1,500 years ago:

@@celestialknight2339 indeed but evil eye is real and it can affect only by the will of Allah

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said: “It is an arrow, shot by the one who is jealous or (or is known) for giving evil-eye towards the one who is envied - hitting (the target) sometimes and missing it sometimes. So if it is encountered while uncovered and without protection, then the person is affected by it. But no doubt, if it is encountered while taking precaution, then it will not affect him; rather it may happen that this arrow (evil-eye) is returned back to the owner himself (i.e. the owner is affected by his own evil-eye)”. [Zaad al-Ma`aad (4/154)]
Imam Ahmad, Malik, al-Nasai and Ibn Hibban narrated from Sahl ibn Hanif that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came out and traveled with him towards Makkah, until they were in the mountain pass of al-Kharar in al-Jahfah. There Sahl ibn Hanif did ghusl (bathed), and he was a handsome white-skinned man with beautiful skin. ‘Amir ibn Rabi'ah, one of Banu ‘Adiyy ibn Ka'b looked at him whilst he was doing ghusl and said: “I have never seen such beautiful skin as this, not even the skin of a virgin,” and Sahl fell to the ground. They went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said, “O Messenger of Allah, can you do anything for Sahl, because by Allah he cannot raise his head.” He said, “Do you accuse anyone with regard to him?” They said, “‘Amir ibn Rabi'ah looked at him.” So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) called ‘Amir and rebuked him strongly. He said, “Why would one of you kill his brother? If you see something that you like, then pray for blessing for him.” Then he said to him, “Wash yourself for him.” So he washed his face, hands, forearms, knees and the sides of his feet, and inside his izar (lower garment) in the vessel. Then that water was poured over him, and a man poured it over his head and back from behind. He did that to him, then Sahl got up and joined the people and there was nothing wrong with him. Thank you so much for putting an English translation of the Arabic terms in the subtitles. It's such a hurdle for reverts and those who don't speak Arabic to hear a speaker imparting knowledge that is rendered inaccessible because there are so many words that aren't understood. And when they are thrown out in normal speech it's too fast to catch and look them up later. So thank you.

I disagree with what’s been said here. There are numerous mentions about envy and the evil eye in Quran and Hadith. Imam Ahmad and al-Tirmidhi narrated that Asma’ bint `Umays said: “O Messenger of Allah, the children of Ja`far have been afflicted by the evil eye, shall we recite ruqyah for them?” He said, “Yes, for if anything were to overtake the divine decree it would be the evil eye.” Surah Falaq also mentions “the envier when he envies”. Surah Yusuf, Yaqub (as) warned Yusuf (as) to hide his dream from his brothers and later in the surah Yaqub tell his sons to enter from different entrances to avoid attention. There is also narration of using the bath water of the one who has inflicted evil eye on you as a remedy.
If the evil eye can affect Qadr then how is that superstition? Why are we advised to protect ourselves from the evil of jinn and men? I’m really disappointed by this answer from Nouman
Jazak'Allahu-khair
@@truezikovoice Assalamu Alaikum, Allah is All Powerfull brother. U need to understand that Qadr is not some script acc. to which we all're acting without our own will. Allah is All Knowing & He ordered the Pen to write all what was goin to happen ever so He has a Divine Register of things called Qadr. If I was to die but then I did charity before I died Allah shall delay my death as mentioned in Hadith. Now U'll say charity has overtaken Allah & His divine Qadr? Is that it now? Allah already has written that If I shall do charity then his age shall be increased if not then death because at the end of the day He has given us free will so no matter what we do in this little universe of ours Nothing is ever out of Qadr or Divine Knowledge of Allah SWT. Now it's the same case with al-Ayn (evil Eye). Nothing is ever harmful or benificial except that Allah knows & has already written that & He allows that to happen too. I hope I made my point clear for U to understand.
We don't get to take a term "al Aynu Haq" & give our own interpretation of that. There were cases of it actually recorded in Ahadith in the time of RasulAllah SAWW. We don't get to teach our Prophet SAWW that ayn is not what U said rather we Have to take what he SAWW taught us & he SAWW ordered us that if one of U get inflicted by Evil Eye, U should make the one who put it to wash his body for U & collect that used water, after that we pour the water on the inflicted from behind. I don't see whether we can do this in the case that Ustadh Nouman has explained. Wallahu A'lam
No hard feelings brother

Assalamu Alaikum
@@truezikovoice exactly brother!
No! I am not implying that He doesn't know. This was my point that He already has written it in the Divine Register called Qadr. I already wrote that in my first reply to U brother.
Sum up of my first reply is that we stop when we hear from the Prophet SAWW. We do Not speculate after Prophet's Hadith has reached us. He SAWW clearly told the cure of Evil Eye & it does not include taking precausions from someone with an "Evil Eye Look". Rather, he SAWW told us to pour water on us washed by the one who gave evil eye.
In the Qur'an,
We are told to ask Allahs protection in al-Falaq & we ask Allah to protect us from enviour when he envies. This Ayah clearly teaches us that when someone is jealous of U, only Allah can protect U & U can not take any precausionary measures against the jealous one from his envy. But regardless, may Allah guide us all to the truth

Evil eye is real, if someone is jealous of something you have it can affect you if Allah allows it to happen.
There are things in unseen world, remember nothing harms anyone without the will of Allah.
If a person comes strike other person the harm will happen only if Allah wills.
Similarly jealous feeling towards other person will harm him if Allah allows it to happen.
There were evidences for evil eye.
There is Du'a also with regards to protection from evil eye .
Note : it is about the envious feeling towards other person , not that you control other person with eyes

Openly mocking the religion. Allah guide us all.
Evil eye (حسد) - is when someone wants you to lose a blessing. It has to involve wanting the removal of a blessing. It's very real. MashAllah is not how to counter it. You should recite the Mouathetin 3 times. But remember everything is with Allah's will so we don't blame the evil eye, we accept the tribulation and continue to recite and pray (two things that protect from hassad)
People have no power. If they could manifest anything they wouldn’t be in such a weak and envious position.
You don't counter it with MashaAllah. If you see something beautiful, you should say MashaAllah so that beautiful person or that beautiful thing doesn't have the evil eye effect.
Couldnt have been even more wrong, watch Abu Mussab's reaction to this and here are hadith proving evil eye's actual dangers:
Recorded by Ahmad no. 15550, Malik no. 1811, An-Nasaa'i and Ibn Hibban.
Sahl ibn Haneef narrated that the Prophet (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came out and travelled with him towards Makkah, until they were in the mountain pass of al-Kharaar in al-Juhfah. There, Sahl ibn Haneef did ghusl, and he was a handsome white-skinned man with beautiful skin. He said, "Do you accuse anyone with regard to him?" They said, "'Aamir ibn Rabee'ah looked at him." So the Messenger of Allah (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) called 'Aamir and rebuked him strongly. He said, "Why would one of you kill his brother? If you see something that you like, then pray for blessing for him." Then he said to him, "Wash yourself for him." So he washed his face, hands, forearms, knees and the sides of his feet, and inside his izaar (lower garment) in the vessel. Then that water was poured over him, and a man poured it over his head and back from behind. He did that to him, then Sahl got up and joined the people and there was nothing wrong with him.
Recorded by Muslim, at-Tirmidhi, and Ahmad
Ibn 'Abbas narrated that the Prophet (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The evil eye is real, and if anything were to overtake the divine decree, it would be the evil eye. When you are asked to make ghusl, due to the influence of the evil eye, make ghusl."@@RevealedFilms

For all those who are always obsessed with "the celebrity speakers", before you'll start yelling, cursing or giving me any names, I just wanna leave you with these two things:
1. Just take a step back and take a really deep breath before taking any knowledge from anyone and ask yourself: what's the first and most profound source do we Muslims have? Qur'an, Right? Ok. What does this speaker start his statement (any statement or explanation) with? Does he really address Islamic issues based on the Qur'an and definitely the Sunnah through the Understanding of the Salaf? If yes, then you should continue listening to him. Else, if his "opinions" "the so-called opinions" is based on some useless philosophical deductions, then you know better what your stand should be.
2. Don't ever think that because you got guided through an individual, it then means that he'll carry you all the way through this long journey, whether or not his ways are still valid or not.
Don't be too obsessed with the guidance you got through him. He's just like any other human, who makes mistakes.
And if mere benefitting from one makes him infallible, then Shaitaan would've been the infallible of infallibles. Don't you see with who Shaitan is, but he still taught Abubakar (May Allah be pleased with him) the "Aayatul-kursiy". And was the prophet's reply to Abubakar when he taught him about the incident?: "This time around he's truthful to you, though he's someone who always tells lies"

If the evil eye didn’t affect qadr (decree) then was the Prophet (sallah Allahu ‘alayhi wa salam) mistaken?
Muslim, Ahmad and al-Tirmidhi narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The evil eye is real and if anything were to overtake the divine decree, it would be the evil eye. When you are asked to take a bath (to provide a cure) from the influence of the evil eye, you should take a bath.”
WHO’s interpretation did he take for the ayah that he mentioned? Definitely not the most learned scholars of the Qur’an, Ibn Abbas.
Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And verily, those who disbelieve would almost make you slip with their eyes (through hatred).” [Al-Qalam 68:51]
Ibn ‘Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) and others said, commenting on this verse: this means, they put the evil eye on you with their glances. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The evil eye is real and if anything were to overtake the divine decree, it would be the evil eye. When you are asked to take a bath (to provide a cure) from the influence of the evil eye, you should take a bath.” (Muslim). Al-Nasai and Ibn Majah narrated that ‘Amir ibn Rabi'ah passed by Sahl ibn Hanif when he was bathing … and he quoted the hadith.

Ibn 'Abbas reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:
The influence of an evil eye is a fact; if anything would precede destiny it would be the influence of an evil eye, and when you are asked to take a bath (as a cure) from the influence of an evil eye, you should take a bath. [Sahih Muslim 2188]
Abu Huraira told that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, “The influence of the evil eye is true,” and forbade tattooing. (It would seem from this tradition that tattooing was used as a protection against; the evil eye.) [Bukhari transmitted it]
Narrated `Aisha: The Prophet (ﷺ) ordered me or somebody else to do Ruqya (if there was danger) from an evil eye. [Sahih al-Bukhari 5738]
Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "The effect of an evil eye is a fact." And he prohibited tattooing. [Sahih al-Bukhari 5740]
'A'isha reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) commanded the use of incantation to cure the influence of an evil eye. [Sahih Muslim 2195a]
'A'isha reported: Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) commanded me that I should make use of incantation for curing the influence of an evil eye. [Sahih Muslim 2195c]
Anas b. Malik reported in connection with incantation that he had been granted sanction (to use incantation as a remedy) for the sting of the scorpion and for curing small pustules and dispelling the influence of an evil eye. [Sahih Muslim 2196a]
Narrated Um Salama: that the Prophet (ﷺ) saw in her house a girl whose face had a black spot. He said. "She is under the effect of an evil eye; so treat her with a Ruqya." [Sahih al-Bukhari 5739]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What is the definition of the evil eye? Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And from the evil of the envier when he envies.” [Al-Falaq 113:5]
It is narrated in al-Sahihayn that ‘Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to tell me to recite ruqyah (incantation) for protection against the evil eye.
Muslim, Ahmad and al-Tirmidhi narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The evil eye is real and if anything were to overtake the divine decree, it would be the evil eye. When you are asked to take a bath (to provide a cure) from the influence of the evil eye, you should take a bath.”
Imam Ahmad and al-Tirmidhi narrated that Asma bint ‘Umays said: “O Messenger of Allah, the children of J’afar have been afflicted by the evil eye, shall we recite ruqyah for them?” He said, “Yes, for if anything were to overtake the divine decree it would be the evil eye.”
Abu Dawud narrated that ‘Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The person who had put the evil eye on another would be ordered to do wudu, then the person who had been afflicted would wash himself (with that water).
Imam Ahmad, Malik, al-Nasai and Ibn Hibban narrated from Sahl ibn Hanif that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came out and traveled with him towards Makkah, until they were in the mountain pass of al-Kharar in al-Jahfah. There Sahl ibn Hanif did ghusl (bathed), and he was a handsome white-skinned man with beautiful skin. ‘Amir ibn Rabi'ah, one of Banu ‘Adiyy ibn Ka'b looked at him whilst he was doing ghusl and said: “I have never seen such beautiful skin as this, not even the skin of a virgin,” and Sahl fell to the ground. They went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said, “O Messenger of Allah, can you do anything for Sahl, because by Allah he cannot raise his head.” He said, “Do you accuse anyone with regard to him?” They said, “‘Amir ibn Rabi'ah looked at him.” So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) called ‘Amir and rebuked him strongly. I agree with Ustadh Nouman that some people are exaggerating, but there are many speeches of the prophet that show the harm effects of evil eye.
For example the hadeeth he mentioned, explained it in his way which is very far away from the explicit words of the prophet and didn't say the whole of it which makes it very clear that it is the evil eye not jealousy:
"The evil eye is genuine If anything could get ahead of the decree the evil eye would do so. And when you are asked to bathe do so.”*
Muslim transmitted it.
وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «الْعَيْنُ حَقٌّ فَلَوْ كَانَ شَيْءٌ سَابَقَ الْقَدَرِ سَبَقَتْهُ الْعَيْنُ وَإِذَا اسْتُغْسِلْتُمْ فاغسِلوا» . رَوَاهُ مُسلم
So it is clear that evil eye is not only jealousy especially that the prophet said: and if you are asked to do bath do so.
And doing bath is when someone one suspect you for giving him the evil eye and asks you to do bath and give him the water in order for him to have a bath using it for healing, so you should do that for him.
And that happens in the time of the prophet and mentioned in this hadeeth:
Malik related to me from Ibn Shihab that Abu Umama ibn Sahl ibn Hunayf said, ''Amir ibn Rabia saw Sahl ibn Hunayf doing a ghusl and said, 'I have not seen the like of what I see today, not even the skin of a maiden who has never been out of doors.' Sahl fell to the ground. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was approached and it was said, 'Messenger of Allah, can you do anything about Sahl ibn Hunayf? By Allah, he can not raise his head.' He said, 'Do you suspect anyone of it?' They said, 'We suspect Amir ibn Rabia.' "
He continued, "The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, summoned Amir and was furious with him and said, 'Why does one of you kill his brother? Why did you not say, "May Allah bless you?" Do ghusl for it.' Amir washed his face, hands, elbows, knees, the end of his feet, and inside his lower garment in a vessel. Then he poured it over him, and Sahl went off with the people, and there was nothing wrong with him."
وَحَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ بْنِ سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ رَأَى عَامِرُ بْنُ رَبِيعَةَ سَهْلَ بْنَ حُنَيْفٍ يَغْتَسِلُ فَقَالَ مَا رَأَيْتُ كَالْيَوْمِ وَلاَ جِلْدَ مُخْبَأَةٍ . فَلُبِطَ سَهْلٌ فَأُتِيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَلْ لَكَ فِي سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ وَاللَّهِ مَا يَرْفَعُ رَأْسَهُ . فَقَالَ " هَلْ تَتَّهِمُونَ لَهُ أَحَدًا " قَالُوا نَتَّهِمُ عَامِرَ بْنَ رَبِيعَةَ . قَالَ فَدَعَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَامِرًا فَتَغَيَّظَ عَلَيْهِ وَقَالَ " عَلاَمَ يَقْتُلُ أَحَدُكُمْ أَخَاهُ أَلاَّ بَرَّكْتَ اغْتَسِلْ لَهُ " . فَغَسَلَ عَامِرٌ وَجْهَهُ وَيَدَيْهِ وَمِرْفَقَيْهِ وَرُكْبَتَيْهِ وَأَطْرَافَ رِجْلَيْهِ وَدَاخِلَةَ إِزَارِهِ فِي قَدَحٍ ثُمَّ صُبَّ عَلَيْهِ فَرَاحَ سَهْلٌ مَعَ النَّاسِ لَيْسَ بِهِ بَأْسٌ .
Another hadeeth:
Aisha said :
The Prophet gave command that we should use a Ruqyah [Ayat and duaa'] against the evil eye.
(Bukhari and Muslim.)
وَعَن عَائِشَة قَالَتْ: أَمَرَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ نَسْتَرْقِيَ مِنَ الْعَيْنِ
مُتَّفق عَلَيْهِ
And there are many more obvious hadeeths about this.
So it exists, and it is harmful, that's why the believer should read the adthkar(mentioning Allah in the morning and evening and before sleeping etc) and say them with trust in Allah that he is protected after saying that, and if he/she forgets and feels some things not going well he/she can put his/her hand on the parts that is not comfortable and read Surat Al-Falaq and Surat-An-Naas and other surahs which are used for "Ruqyah"
Abu 'Abdullah bin Abul-'as (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
I complained to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) about a pain I had in my body. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Place your hand where you feel pain and say: 'Bismillah (With the Name of Allah)' three times; and then repeat seven times: 'A'udhu bi'izzatillahi wa qudratihi min sharri ma ajidu wa 'uhadhiru (I seek refuge with Allah and with His Power from the evil that afflicts me and that which I apprehend)."'
[Muslim].
وعن أبي عبد الله عثمان بن أبي العاص رضي الله عنه أنه شكي إلي رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وجعاً يجده في جسده فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم "ضع يدك علي الذي تألم من جسدك وقل: بسم الله -ثلاثاً- وقل سبع مرات: أعوذ بعزة الله وقدرته من شر ما أجد وأحاذر” ((رواه مسلم)).
Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to seek protection against the evil of jinn and the evil eyes till Surat Al-Falaq and Surat An-Nas were revealed. After they were revealed, he took to them for seeking Allah's protection and left everything besides them.
[At- Tirmidhi].
وعن أبي سعيد الخدري رضي الله عنه قال : كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يتعوذ من الجان، وعين الإنسان، حتى نزلت المعوذتان، فلما نزلتا، أخذ بهما وترك ما سواهما .
((رواه الترمذي وقال :حديث حسن )).
And there are a lot of other clear hadeeth about that!
And the answer of why we don't have and evil eye party to drop the president we don't like and why it doesn't happen is that it is not a must that when someone envy another one or give him the evil eye that he will be affected or harmed, especially when you are muslim, Allah told in the quran that he sends angels to protect you from in front of you and your back especially when you read athkar and pray.
And Allah said in the Quran in Surat Al-Baqarah ayah no.102 about magic which is much harmful than evil eye:
(Yet people learned ˹magic˺ that caused a rift ˹even˺ between husband and wife; although their magic could not harm anyone except by Allah’s Will.)
Again! Could not harm except by Allah's will!
So we should not deny facts like this, but we should deal with them like our prophet taught us, without exaggeration or denial, but with following the footsteps of our guided messenger may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.
Assalamu alaikum. Could you please tell where to find dua which Aisha learned from the prophet, peace be upon him.
I always had the feeling this was accurate. It is the ones that you suspect have hatred towards you to be weary of because they will “take or do some sort of action “ to harm you. It’s their jealousy or hatred that would lead them to do an action to harm an individual which would be the affect of the “real evil eye” but in order to be protected having the connection with ALLAH and Quran as well as developing ourselves allows us to clean our hearts to remove malice, hatred and envy. I think this is important so that we don’t sink to that level of envy ourselves. AlhamduLILLAH
We take our interpretations from the Qur’an and Sunnah according to the understanding of the salaf (three golden generations), not one who says stuff from his personal views that happens to also suit our own limited perspectives, please be careful. We seek refuge in Allah from being misguided. If it’s not being looked at with an envious look and being affected then how can we interpret the hadith where that is exactly what happened?
Imam Ahmad, Malik, al-Nasai and Ibn Hibban narrated from Sahl ibn Hanif that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came out and traveled with him towards Makkah, until they were in the mountain pass of al-Kharar in al-Jahfah. If you see something that you like, then pray for blessing for him.” Then he said to him, “Wash yourself for him.” So he washed his face, hands, forearms, knees and the sides of his feet, and inside his izar (lower garment) in the vessel. Then that water was poured over him, and a man poured it over his head and back from behind. He did that to him, then Sahl got up and joined the people and there was nothing wrong with him. Classed as sahih (authentic) by al-Albani in al-Mishkat.
There are hadiths on evil eyes that he didn't mention. The man who fell sick after someone commented how beautiful his skin was when he was taking a bath.
I think the precaution is always necessary but not to a point we become superstitious. For example we should lay low not showing off our happiness/beauty excessively or over expose on social media especially young children.
Secondly we should always praise Allah when we see something that pleases us so that way we make zikir instead of allowing hasad to grow in our hearts. At the same time we save ourselves from the harm of being the jealous one (like the shaytan)
It is literally just god testing you. Once you are made aware of your blessing what will you do when god take it away. Will you be grateful that you enjoyed it and will you continue to be grateful even after it is gone.
It is narrated in al-Sahihayn that ‘Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to tell me to recite ruqyah (incantation) for protection against the evil eye.
Muslim, Ahmad and al-Tirmidhi narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The evil eye is real and if anything were to overtake the divine decree, it would be the evil eye. When you are asked to take a bath (to provide a cure) from the influence of the evil eye, you should take a bath.”
Imam Ahmad and al-Tirmidhi narrated that Asma bint ‘Umays said: “O Messenger of Allah, the children of J’afar have been afflicted by the evil eye, shall we recite ruqyah for them?” He said, “Yes, for if anything were to overtake the divine decree it would be the evil eye.”
Abu Dawud narrated that ‘Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The person who had put the evil eye on another would be ordered to do wudu, then the person who had been afflicted would wash himself (with that water).
Imam Ahmad, Malik, al-Nasai and Ibn Hibban narrated from Sahl ibn Hanif that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came out and traveled with him towards Makkah, until they were in the mountain pass of al-Kharar in al-Jahfah. There Sahl ibn Hanif did ghusl (bathed), and he was a handsome white-skinned man with beautiful skin. ‘Amir ibn Rabi'ah, one of Banu ‘Adiyy ibn Ka'b looked at him whilst he was doing ghusl and said: “I have never seen such beautiful skin as this, not even the skin of a virgin,” and Sahl fell to the ground. They went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said, “O Messenger of Allah, can you do anything for Sahl, because by Allah he cannot raise his head.” He said, “Do you accuse anyone with regard to him?” They said, “‘Amir ibn Rabi'ah looked at him.” So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) called ‘Amir and rebuked him strongly. He said, “Why would one of you kill his brother? If you see something that you like, then pray for blessing for him.” Then he said to him, “Wash yourself for him.” So he washed his face, hands, forearms, knees and the sides of his feet, and inside his izar (lower garment) in the vessel. Then that water was poured over him, and a man poured it over his head and back from behind. He did that to him, then Sahl got up and joined the people and there was nothing wrong with him. We seek refuge in Allah from being misguided. If it’s not being looked at with an envious look and being affected then how can we interpret the hadith where that is exactly what happened?
If the evil eye didn’t affect qadr (decree) then was the Prophet (sallah Allahu ‘alayhi wa salam) mistaken?
Evil eye is real, it can affect other one if Allah wills
Bro afsal, if Allah wills, anything can happen. Don't misuse those for proclaiming superstition evil eye and religion dirty. Allah deen is clean and beautiful. Please do think
@@afsalarfaj5276 it is real but it is not as you understand it. You believe in the evil eye which was believed by people prior to the prophet's arrival. Which Kuffar in europe, pagan arabs, pagan persians believed in. Quran does not support your belief. Only Hadiths that are zani eltheboot, zani eldalala (Ahaad and ambigious hadith that can be undertood in different ways) so we go back to the quran for confirmation.
The only aya that has (with their eyes) is already mentioned in the video explained by the brother. Evil eye means you look at something and either it produces jealousy (if you see someone else's blessings from allah and you don't attribute it to allah) or arrogance in the heart (if you see something you have that allah blessed you with and you don't attribute it to allah) then you act on it.
in the case it is jealousy you act on harming the other person by conspiring against them. In the case it is arrogance, you act on it by not giving sadaqat or zakah which is waging war against allah.
I totally agree with Nouman, i never understood how someone with an evil eye can harm you, but I know that people can harm people due to jealousy by physically doing something against them or their livelihood etc, but not magically eye harming you, this is pure Nonesense!
Surah Falaq says: "I seek refugee...... 113:5 "from the mischief of the envious one as he practises envy"
Quran 35:2: Whatever mercy Allah opens up for people, none can withhold it. And whatever He withholds, none but Him can release it.
Quran 6:17: If Allah touches thee with affliction, none can remove it but He; if He touches thee with happiness, He hath power over all things.
Quran 10:107 Verse: If God inflicts harm on you, no one can remove it except for Him, and, if He intends good for you, NO ONE can turn away His favour. He grants His bounty to any of His worshipers whom He wills. He alone is truly forgiving, the true Purveyor of Mercy.
That is enough for me when my God tells me that. I am not going to follow some weird traditions and put some blue-eyed talismans around me for protection. Just be a good human, deal justly, help others and be mindful of your actions, as it has consequences and see the blessings of Allah. You will have a good life in this world and in the next and when Allah protects no -one can harm you.
What is the definition of the evil eye? Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And from the evil of the envier when he envies.” [Al-Falaq 113:5]
It is narrated in al-Sahihayn that ‘Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to tell me to recite ruqyah (incantation) for protection against the evil eye.
Muslim, Ahmad and al-Tirmidhi narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The evil eye is real and if anything were to overtake the divine decree, it would be the evil eye. Imam Ahmad and al-Tirmidhi narrated that Asma bint ‘Umays said: “O Messenger of Allah, the children of J’afar have been afflicted by the evil eye, shall we recite ruqyah for them?” He said, “Yes, for if anything were to overtake the divine decree it would be the evil eye.”
Abu Dawud narrated that ‘Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The person who had put the evil eye on another would be ordered to do wudu, then the person who had been afflicted would wash himself (with that water).
Imam Ahmad, Malik, al-Nasai and Ibn Hibban narrated from Sahl ibn Hanif that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came out and traveled with him towards Makkah, until they were in the mountain pass of al-Kharar in al-Jahfah. There Sahl ibn Hanif did ghusl (bathed), and he was a handsome white-skinned man with beautiful skin. ‘Amir ibn Rabi'ah, one of Banu ‘Adiyy ibn Ka'b looked at him whilst he was doing ghusl and said: “I have never seen such beautiful skin as this, not even the skin of a virgin,” and Sahl fell to the ground. He said, “Why would one of you kill his brother? Couldnt have been even more wrong, watch Abu Mussab's reaction to this and here are hadith proving evil eye's actual dangers:
Recorded by Ahmad no. 15550, Malik no. 1811, An-Nasaa'i and Ibn Hibban.
Sahl ibn Haneef narrated that the Prophet (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came out and travelled with him towards Makkah, until they were in the mountain pass of al-Kharaar in al-Juhfah. There, Sahl ibn Haneef did ghusl, and he was a handsome white-skinned man with beautiful skin. 'Aamir ibn Rabee'ah, one of Banu 'Adiyy ibn Ka'b, looked at him whilst he was doing ghusl and said: "I have never seen such beautiful skin as this, not even the skin of a virgin," and Sahl fell to the ground. They went to Messenger of Allah (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah, can you do anything for Sahl, because by Allah he cannot raise his head?" He said, "Do you accuse anyone with regard to him?" They said, "'Aamir ibn Rabee'ah looked at him." So the Messenger of Allah (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) called 'Aamir and rebuked him strongly. He said, "Why would one of you kill his brother? If you see something that you like, then pray for blessing for him." Then he said to him, "Wash yourself for him." So he washed his face, hands, forearms, knees and the sides of his feet, and inside his izaar (lower garment) in the vessel. Then that water was poured over him, and a man poured it over his head and back from behind. He did that to him, then Sahl got up and joined the people and there was nothing wrong with him.
Recorded by Muslim, at-Tirmidhi, and Ahmad
Ibn 'Abbas narrated that the Prophet (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The evil eye is real, and if anything were to overtake the divine decree, it would be the evil eye. When you are asked to make ghusl, due to the influence of the evil eye, make ghusl."
Astaghfirullah! Brother, hassad is real, evil eye is real..
Perhaps you can deny the hadiths like other western scholars, I thought your forte is Quran. Why does one asks for protection from the one who does Hassad in Surah Falaq?
In any case, its his opinion vs the understanding of the sahaba, tabiyeen and taba tabiyeen.
AstaghferAllah.... May Allah guide him and all of us. Ameen. We recite mu'awwazat and ayatul Kursi to protect ourselves from evil eye and all the harms. Evil eye is real
Why ? Isn’t his speech is logical ?
@bayyinah JazakAllah khair for Brother Nouman stating the truth despite the criticisms. The Muslim belief in Al-Ayn or the “Evil Eye” is as close to idolatry as one can get! Apparently, an envious person who has evil in his heart has super powers that can greatly harm others or even kill a person!!!
This belief is actually taken wholesale from the people of scripture who took it from pagans.
The concept of the “Evil eye” has been mistakenly made synonymous with envy and a whole narrative has been built upon it. What some use to justify this incorrect belief in "Al Ayn" is that the calamities that Allah SWT sends people (as a test/ punishment/ means return back to Allah SWT) are seen as coming from other people, even close relatives, which has the potential to destroy relations and cause fear of others who are perceived to be envious of one.
In fact, The evil eye and envy are TWO separate evils.
The Quran says:
وَلَا تَعْدُ عَيْنَاكَ عَنْهُمْ تُرِيدُ زِينَةَ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا
And let not your eyes extend upon them, desiring adornments of the worldly life
Al-Ayn is covetousness. The person who is harmed by “Al ayn” isn’t the person who is envied but the one who desires worldly life with an eye of extreme desire and want.
And what is the effect of this evil? The ayah continues and explains:
وَلَا تُطِعْ مَنْ أَغْفَلْنَا قَلْبَهُ عَن ذِكْرِنَا وَاتَّبَعَ هَوَاهُ وَكَانَ أَمْرُهُ فُرُطًا
and do not obey one whose heart We have made heedless of Our remembrance and who follows his desire and whose affair is in complete negligent.
The Evil eye takes one away from Allah SWT and makes one preoccupied with the dunya with the people of dunya.
This desire can be accompanied with envy and can lead to harming others through their actions, but to say that an evil that lies in ones heart can harm and even kill people has zero proof in the Quran and what we see today.
If Al Ayn was true with the common belief, the most envied will be dropping dead like flies !!!
An advice, don't listen to him , see abu musabs reaction on him , he exposes his deviance.....
What is the definition of the evil eye? Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And from the evil of the envier when he envies.” [Al-Falaq 113:5]
It is narrated in al-Sahihayn that ‘Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to tell me to recite ruqyah (incantation) for protection against the evil eye.
Muslim, Ahmad and al-Tirmidhi narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The evil eye is real and if anything were to overtake the divine decree, it would be the evil eye. When you are asked to take a bath (to provide a cure) from the influence of the evil eye, you should take a bath.”
Imam Ahmad and al-Tirmidhi narrated that Asma bint ‘Umays said: “O Messenger of Allah, the children of J’afar have been afflicted by the evil eye, shall we recite ruqyah for them?” He said, “Yes, for if anything were to overtake the divine decree it would be the evil eye.”
Abu Dawud narrated that ‘Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The person who had put the evil eye on another would be ordered to do wudu, then the person who had been afflicted would wash himself (with that water).
Imam Ahmad, Malik, al-Nasai and Ibn Hibban narrated from Sahl ibn Hanif that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came out and traveled with him towards Makkah, until they were in the mountain pass of al-Kharar in al-Jahfah. There Sahl ibn Hanif did ghusl (bathed), and he was a handsome white-skinned man with beautiful skin. ‘Amir ibn Rabi'ah, one of Banu ‘Adiyy ibn Ka'b looked at him whilst he was doing ghusl and said: “I have never seen such beautiful skin as this, not even the skin of a virgin,” and Sahl fell to the ground. They went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said, “O Messenger of Allah, can you do anything for Sahl, because by Allah he cannot raise his head.” He said, “Do you accuse anyone with regard to him?” They said, “‘Amir ibn Rabi'ah looked at him.” So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) called ‘Amir and rebuked him strongly. Classed as sahih (authentic) by al-Albani in al-Mishkat.
@taimurahmad there are a number of ayaat about al ayn and that you didn't mention. You just mentioned the one about 'hasad' which was interpreted to be 'al ayn'. Please do further research on the matter!
Finally someone makes sense about nazar today.... That's exactly what I thought... Otherwise we won't see any person happy on this planet if nzar meant the way it is perceived now a days... ❤
The evil eye is the jealousy of people. Its common sense. When you show off you attract people eyes and some of them will have evil intention.
Why are we taught to say MashaAllah after praising someone, not always jealousy that can cause evil eye. I fully agree with what you say. Glances cast on you with burning hatred and even contorted facial muscles indicate that there's lots of hatred and ill-wishes in those glances. They can completely unnerve you and cause disorientation. In such situations, you lose confidence and make mistakes, which can lead to disaster. But if one had confidence in oneself and trust in Allah nothing can harm you.
Interesting take on it. That's the first I've heard something like that. But what about in surah Falaq where Allah mentions in the last ayat, "And from the evil of an envier when he envies." Isn't this proof from the Quran that the evil eye in that sense does in fact exist? I'm just a layman hoping to hear your thoughts on this. JazakAllah Ustadh Nouman.
I agree with you and NAK is absolutely correct here. It doesn't make logical sense.
People in bangladesh normally do "shinni" i.e feed neighbours and relatives and the poor, and give alms in order to counteract the evil eye when they start building a new house (pour the foundation concrete), open a business, when their male chicken first crows, or when someone falls ill.
It's quite an easy method to overcome the few jealous people who stare with evil as they pass.
It makes sense if you haven’t actually read in to the topic and what scholars have said about it.
Nouman is not a Islamic scholar. His opinion was baseless and just a opinion. Majority of real scholars disagree with his view.
It is not about him explaining it in a way that suits our own limited views and perspectives, it is about him explaining it in a way that is according to the authentic Qur’an and Sunnah & surely he failed horrendously at doing so here. We seek refuge in Allah from being misguided. If it’s not being looked at with an envious look and being affected then how can we interpret the hadith where that is exactly what happened?
Imam Ahmad, Malik, al-Nasai and Ibn Hibban narrated from Sahl ibn Hanif that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came out and traveled with him towards Makkah, until they were in the mountain pass of al-Kharar in al-Jahfah. There Sahl ibn Hanif did ghusl (bathed), and he was a handsome white-skinned man with beautiful skin. ‘Amir ibn Rabi'ah, one of Banu ‘Adiyy ibn Ka'b looked at him whilst he was doing ghusl and said: “I have never seen such beautiful skin as this, not even the skin of a virgin,” and Sahl fell to the ground. They went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said, “O Messenger of Allah, can you do anything for Sahl, because by Allah he cannot raise his head.” He said, “Do you accuse anyone with regard to him?” They said, “‘Amir ibn Rabi'ah looked at him.” So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) called ‘Amir and rebuked him strongly. He said, “Why would one of you kill his brother? If you see something that you like, then pray for blessing for him.” Then he said to him, “Wash yourself for him.” So he washed his face, hands, forearms, knees and the sides of his feet, and inside his izar (lower garment) in the vessel. Then that water was poured over him, and a man poured it over his head and back from behind. He did that to him, then Sahl got up and joined the people and there was nothing wrong with him. Classed as sahih (authentic) by al-Albani in al-Mishkat.
If the evil eye didn’t affect qadr (decree) then was the Prophet (sallah Allahu ‘alayhi wa salam) mistaken?
Muslim, Ahmad and al-Tirmidhi narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The evil eye is real and if anything were to overtake the divine decree, it would be the evil eye. When you are asked to take a bath (to provide a cure) from the influence of the evil eye, you should take a bath.”
WHO’s interpretation did he take for the ayah that he mentioned? Definitely not the most learned scholars of the Qur’an, Ibn Abbas.
Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And verily, those who disbelieve would almost make you slip with their eyes (through hatred).” [Al-Qalam 68:51]
Ibn ‘Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) and others said, commenting on this verse: this means, they put the evil eye on you with their glances. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The evil eye is real and if anything were to overtake the divine decree, it would be the evil eye. When you are asked to take a bath (to provide a cure) from the influence of the evil eye, you should take a bath.” (Muslim). Al-Nasai and Ibn Majah narrated that ‘Amir ibn Rabi'ah passed by Sahl ibn Hanif when he was bathing … and he quoted the hadith.
May Allah guide Nouman Ali Khan for he is giving answers which he will be held to account for infront of Allah.
Exactly!!! Hasad is true not the evil eye.
Couldnt have been even more wrong, watch Abu Mussab's reaction to this and here are hadith proving evil eye's actual dangers:
Recorded by Ahmad no. 15550, Malik no. 1811, An-Nasaa'i and Ibn Hibban.
Sahl ibn Haneef narrated that the Prophet (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came out and travelled with him towards Makkah, until they were in the mountain pass of al-Kharaar in al-Juhfah. There, Sahl ibn Haneef did ghusl, and he was a handsome white-skinned man with beautiful skin. 'Aamir ibn Rabee'ah, one of Banu 'Adiyy ibn Ka'b, looked at him whilst he was doing ghusl and said: "I have never seen such beautiful skin as this, not even the skin of a virgin," and Sahl fell to the ground. They went to Messenger of Allah (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah, can you do anything for Sahl, because by Allah he cannot raise his head?" He said, "Do you accuse anyone with regard to him?" They said, "'Aamir ibn Rabee'ah looked at him." So the Messenger of Allah (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) called 'Aamir and rebuked him strongly. He said, "Why would one of you kill his brother? If you see something that you like, then pray for blessing for him." Then he said to him, "Wash yourself for him." So he washed his face, hands, forearms, knees and the sides of his feet, and inside his izaar (lower garment) in the vessel. Then that water was poured over him, and a man poured it over his head and back from behind. He did that to him, then Sahl got up and joined the people and there was nothing wrong with him.
Recorded by Muslim, at-Tirmidhi, and Ahmad
Ibn 'Abbas narrated that the Prophet (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The evil eye is real, and if anything were to overtake the divine decree, it would be the evil eye. When you are asked to make ghusl, due to the influence of the evil eye, make ghusl."
Brothers and sisters. Run away from this speaker. Hes literally making fun of the deen and denying clear cut things in the deen.
It doesnt matter if he helped guide you towards practising. I myself would watch his stuff but him and many western speakers are bringing their opinions and new interpretations into the deen and are differing from the earlier generations.
A year ago I attended a wedding and since that day I've extreme hair fall, it started all of a sudden later that day, my hair were very healthy before and now it's all gone.. it hasn't cured yet!! And its distressing me so much now..
if it's the evil eye, you can try doing Ruqyah by either going to an imam and having him read some Qur'an on you or reading surat Al Baqara and adkar on a bottle of water and drinking it. May Allah cure you and protect you.
Beware of his reply for it is against what is found in the Qur’an and sunnah. We seek refuge in Allah from being misguided. If it’s not being looked at with an envious look and being affected then how can we interpret the hadith where that is exactly what happened?
Imam Ahmad, Malik, al-Nasai and Ibn Hibban narrated from Sahl ibn Hanif that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came out and traveled with him towards Makkah, until they were in the mountain pass of al-Kharar in al-Jahfah. There Sahl ibn Hanif did ghusl (bathed), and he was a handsome white-skinned man with beautiful skin. ‘Amir ibn Rabi'ah, one of Banu ‘Adiyy ibn Ka'b looked at him whilst he was doing ghusl and said: “I have never seen such beautiful skin as this, not even the skin of a virgin,” and Sahl fell to the ground. They went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said, “O Messenger of Allah, can you do anything for Sahl, because by Allah he cannot raise his head.” He said, “Do you accuse anyone with regard to him?” They said, “‘Amir ibn Rabi'ah looked at him.” So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) called ‘Amir and rebuked him strongly. He said, “Why would one of you kill his brother? If you see something that you like, then pray for blessing for him.” Then he said to him, “Wash yourself for him.” So he washed his face, hands, forearms, knees and the sides of his feet, and inside his izar (lower garment) in the vessel. If the evil eye didn’t affect qadr (decree) then was the Prophet (sallah Allahu ‘alayhi wa salam) mistaken?
Muslim, Ahmad and al-Tirmidhi narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The evil eye is real and if anything were to overtake the divine decree, it would be the evil eye. When you are asked to take a bath (to provide a cure) from the influence of the evil eye, you should take a bath.”
WHO’s interpretation did he take for the ayah that he mentioned? Definitely not the most learned scholars of the Qur’an, Ibn Abbas.
Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And verily, those who disbelieve would almost make you slip with their eyes (through hatred).” [Al-Qalam 68:51]
Ibn ‘Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) and others said, commenting on this verse: this means, they put the evil eye on you with their glances. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The evil eye is real and if anything were to overtake the divine decree, it would be the evil eye. When you are asked to take a bath (to provide a cure) from the influence of the evil eye, you should take a bath.” (Muslim). Al-Nasai and Ibn Majah narrated that ‘Amir ibn Rabi'ah passed by Sahl ibn Hanif when he was bathing … and he quoted the hadith.
There is no power or strength except with Allah. Allah allows things to happen, things we don't like, we feel compelled to associate a reason with, thus evil eye. Accept it was qadr, and that nothing could have prevented it. Explained really well.
I definitely think he’s right in a way ! He has valid points . Why isn’t Israel getting hit with nazr for the amount of power it holds or the ambani family ? Evil people getting away from nazr but the good ones suffering ?
The meaning of Quran that has been interpreted is based on opinion “ I think this is what it means “ . We have 72 sects of Islam because everything is an opinion trying to crack the code from every scholar . They have their own versions .
. I respect you alot Ustaad NAK and i've learnt so much from you. But i think its time you should start learning Hadees. Atleast Bukhari and Muslim. The way you will understand it will be far better than we do. Because you know how to deep dive into such things. But i totally disagree with you on your this interpretation of Evil Eye. And it is mentioned in that Hadees that if you know who could be the cause of the Evil Eye you should ask for his ablution water and bathe with it. It doesn't mean that by asking the ablution water from someone will make his jealousy go away. It clearly means that there is something behind the scenes going on that we don't understand. If the Angels exist, jinns exist and lot ghaib and unseen exist which we believe it does. Then explaining everything literally and in the light of Logic is i think not fair.
Say, “I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak
Wow! This is the first time in 20 years he disappointed me. First of all the scholars described the evil eyes harm as arrows being thrown but not everyone gets the evil eye because of various reasons. Some people always do their adhkar so they’re always protected, but even if not Allah can protect who he chooses and why he chooses to do so and he can let them be affected when they don’t use the protection he’s given. I also thought that it was a misunderstood and misinterpreted thing until I got affected with it back in 2020 and I got a full understanding of it now alhamdulillah since it is a part of the slime that we must believe. I’m happy that Allah knew I had doubts and removed those doubts with an experience. I can NEVER forget or mistake in sha Allah
There Sahl ibn Hanif did ghusl (bathed), and he was a handsome white-skinned man with beautiful skin. ‘Amir ibn Rabi'ah, one of Banu ‘Adiyy ibn Ka'b looked at him whilst he was doing ghusl and said: “I have never seen such beautiful skin as this, not even the skin of a virgin,” and Sahl fell to the ground. They went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said, “O Messenger of Allah, can you do anything for Sahl, because by Allah he cannot raise his head.” He said, “Do you accuse anyone with regard to him?” They said, “‘Amir ibn Rabi'ah looked at him.” So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) called ‘Amir and rebuked him strongly. He said, “Why would one of you kill his brother? If you see something that you like, then pray for blessing for him.” Then he said to him, “Wash yourself for him.” So he washed his face, hands, forearms, knees and the sides of his feet, and inside his izar (lower garment) in the vessel. Then that water was poured over him, and a man poured it over his head and back from behind. He did that to him, then Sahl got up and joined the people and there was nothing wrong with him. Classed as sahih (authentic) by al-Albani in al-Mishkat.
If the evil eye didn’t affect qadr (decree) then was the Prophet (sallah Allahu ‘alayhi wa salam) mistaken?
Muslim, Ahmad and al-Tirmidhi narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The evil eye is real and if anything were to overtake the divine decree, it would be the evil eye. When you are asked to take a bath (to provide a cure) from the influence of the evil eye, you should take a bath.”
WHO’s interpretation did he take for the ayah that he mentioned? Definitely not the most learned scholars of the Qur’an, Ibn Abbas.
Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And verily, those who disbelieve would almost make you slip with their eyes (through hatred).” [Al-Qalam 68:51]
Ibn ‘Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) and others said, commenting on this verse: this means, they put the evil eye on you with their glances. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The evil eye is real and if anything were to overtake the divine decree, it would be the evil eye. When you are asked to take a bath (to provide a cure) from the influence of the evil eye, you should take a bath.” (Muslim). Al-Nasai and Ibn Majah narrated that ‘Amir ibn Rabi'ah passed by Sahl ibn Hanif when he was bathing … and he quoted the hadith.
May Allah guide Nouman Ali Khan for he is giving answers which he will be held to account for infront of Allah. How many more hadiths and ayat has he interpreted according to his own views?
It was narrated that ‘Ubaid bin Rifa’ah Az-Zuraqi said:
“Asma’ said: ‘O Messenger of Allah! The children of Ja’far have been afflicted by the evil eye, shall I recite Ruqyah* for them?’ He said: ‘Yes, for if anything were to overtake the Divine decree it would be the evil eye.’”
Thanks for proving that you are not among the ones from whom I should learn Islam.
Mishkat al-Masabih 4562:
Abu Umama b. Sahl b. Hunaif told that ‘Amir b. Rabi'a saw Sahl b. Hunaif bathing and said, “I swear by God that I have seen no skin to compare with what I have seen to-day, not even that of a secluded girl.” Sahl fell to the ground and people went to God’s messenger and said to him, “Messenger of God, can you do anything for Sahl b. Hunaif? We swear by God that he cannot raise his head ” He asked if they suspected anyone, and when they replied that they suspected ‘Amir b. Rabl‘a. God’s messenger summoned ‘Amir, and speaking roughly to him, said, “Why does one of you kill his brother? Why did you not invoke a blessing? Bathe on his behalf ” ‘Amir then washed on his behalf his face, hands, elbows, knees and toes, and inside his lower garment, collected the water in a vessel and poured it over him, so he recovered and went away with the people none the worse.* It is transmitted in Sharh as-sunna. Malik transmitted it, and in his version he said, “The evil eye is real. Perform ablution for him.” He therefore did so. * The trouble was due to the words of praise which were not qualified by any reference to what God might will, and accordingly attributed to the evil eye.
I'm soo suprised our beloved sheikh didn't say this hadith because is directly linked to this qtn.
@@abdurashidwampamba8769 He is not a Sheikh. He didn’t study formally at an institution. He should stick to Tafseer and not try to be a Mufti and take questions like in the video. He will make mistakes and cause controversy and people will turn away from his amazing Tafseer and Khutbah sessions. We don’t want that to happen. Will you go to a nurse for brain surgery? Will you go to a car washer for car mechanical issues?
Ibn 'Abbas reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:
The influence of an evil eye is a fact; if anything would precede destiny it would be the influence of an evil eye, and when you are asked to take a bath (as a cure) from the influence of an evil eye, you should take a bath. [Sahih Muslim 2188]
Abu Huraira told that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, “The influence of the evil eye is true,” and forbade tattooing. (It would seem from this tradition that tattooing was used as a protection against; the evil eye.) [Bukhari transmitted it]
Narrated `Aisha: The Prophet (ﷺ) ordered me or somebody else to do Ruqya (if there was danger) from an evil eye. [Sahih al-Bukhari 5738]
Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "The effect of an evil eye is a fact." And he prohibited tattooing. [Sahih al-Bukhari 5740]
'A'isha reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) commanded the use of incantation to cure the influence of an evil eye. [Sahih Muslim 2195a]
'A'isha reported: Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) commanded me that I should make use of incantation for curing the influence of an evil eye. [Sahih Muslim 2195c]
Anas b. Malik reported in connection with incantation that he had been granted sanction (to use incantation as a remedy) for the sting of the scorpion and for curing small pustules and dispelling the influence of an evil eye. [Sahih Muslim 2196a]
Narrated Um Salama: that the Prophet (ﷺ) saw in her house a girl whose face had a black spot. He said. "She is under the effect of an evil eye; so treat her with a Ruqya." [Sahih al-Bukhari 5739]
What is the definition of the evil eye? Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And from the evil of the envier when he envies.” [Al-Falaq 113:5]
It is narrated in al-Sahihayn that ‘Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to tell me to recite ruqyah (incantation) for protection against the evil eye.
Muslim, Ahmad and al-Tirmidhi narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The evil eye is real and if anything were to overtake the divine decree, it would be the evil eye. When you are asked to take a bath (to provide a cure) from the influence of the evil eye, you should take a bath.”
Imam Ahmad and al-Tirmidhi narrated that Asma bint ‘Umays said: “O Messenger of Allah, the children of J’afar have been afflicted by the evil eye, shall we recite ruqyah for them?” He said, “Yes, for if anything were to overtake the divine decree it would be the evil eye.”
